This restaurant was recommended by the desk clerk at our hotel. What a great find. The food was exceptional. I had the homemade meatloaf and my friend had the pork chops. They were moist and flavorful. Our server Erica was very attentive. It happened to be a $1 ice cream cone night so I had to try a cone. The prices were very reasonable. Happened upon this place because it's about halfway between Orlando and Clearwater, and had outdoor dining. Wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. First, the Greek salad has a scoop of potato salad on top, which is a regional thing (allegedly started by chef in Tarpon Springs who brought back idea as way to stretch food during his stint as cook during WW2) and the salad was superb! Second, we arrived--a party of seven, requesting outdoor seating--at noon on the first warm Saturday of spring. Although the place was packed, with people waiting in front for tables, the hostess promised she would reserve the large porch table outside for us. The food was all good, many came with salads, some with crispy fries. The waitress was efficient, and our food arrived promptly--even as packed as they were. And the manager (owner) was busy helping, greeting, bussing tables, to make sure everything ran smoothly. I even enjoyed the framed DeSantis photo which had been punched so the glass was shattered. A little bit to make everyone happy. We will happily drive 90 minutes to meet family at Sunrise Eatery, any day. read more

I came to Sunrise Eatery on a Sunday around 3:00 PM ET with my wife and my parents. It wasn't too crowded since it was late for lunch and a little early for dinner, so we were quickly seated. Our waitress was at our table immediately and took our drink orders while we browsed the menu. My mother ordered the catfish plate, my father an omelet, my wife a goat-cheese burger, and me a cheeseburger. It only took about 15 minutes for our food to be prepared and delivered to our table. My burger was pretty good, and my wife enjoyed her as well. My parents stated that their meals were delicious too and that they would order them again. Throughout our meal, our waitress (Annicka) checked on us to make sure we were doing well and to refill our drinks. We all got out of Sunrise for about $10 per person (before tip) which isn't bad for the quality and quantity of food that we got. We'll be back! read more

I really wanted to love this place after reading all the reviews. I have been craving an open faced roast beef sandwich and this was the only place I could find that had one. Went with my parents and sister. I placed my order and mom got fish basket (grouper) with fries. Sister got goat cheese burger and dad got meatloaf. Mine was very salty! Mashed potatoes were lukewarm and the Cole slaw had a lot (too much) of celery seed. Mom and sister said their fries were completely cold. The piece of fish was very large and she liked it. Sister's burger looked delicious but she said it was very bland. Dad seemed to enjoy his meatloaf but he's not a big talker &/or complainer! The service was very good & I loved they had parking spaces reserved for veterans. We did take a piece of Baklava cheesecake home as well as coconut cream pie. My mom loved the cheesecake & I enjoyed the coconut-the pieces were big enough for 2 to 3 servings. Online order. They turned it over to Door Dash. Driver late picking g order up, couldn't find us be a use he doesn't speak English. Then he tried to deliver an order from Bubbakoos to Ashley. Not our order. Via app, he was going back to restaurant. They closed at 9p and we never got our food. Called twice that night that he was lost and their reply was They gave him the food. Called again to say he was returning and by now my shake was mush. He said he would remake it which implied my order was still there. Called the next morning and witch said they would not refund my $47.60. Filed a dispute with my bank. Piss poor customer service. read more

I ordered takeout. I ordered a blue burger and an order of fries. I picked up the order and when I went to eat it, I discovered there was no blue cheese on the burger, but I did get the side order of tartar sauce and there was no ketchup with the fries. I ordered my burger, medium rare to discover it was medium well. With that said, since I was visiting from out of town, I had to go back to the restaurant to request the blue cheese dressing and catch up. Other than that, everything was great. In American culture, only the best of the best are even considered for the coveted title of Greatest of All Time (the GOAT). Some of these legends are Tom Brady, Lebron James, and Sunrise Eatery. Of all of the restaurants that I have been to in Florida, this one is the best ever. Even on days where the wait time is upwards of 30 people long, I can still find ways to enjoy myself in anticipation of the heavenly meal that awaits me. Everyone that so much as steps foot in the restaurant immediately falls in love with it, and for good reason- awesome food, awesome prices, and awesome people. The vibe of the place is amazing, and the owner is extremely kind. Every time he notices me and my family, he greets us all with a big grin and fist bumps for us all. I am convinced that it is impossible for this restaurant to make something that is subpar. Everything that I have tried from the menu has been amazing and delicious. We came by on Saturday for lunch. The parking lot was full and we had about at 10 minute wait. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant at a four top. A great place to people watch. It is definitely a local place. I saw a waitress toss a pancake with her hands of what I think was her parents. I was happily surprised to see a fruit salad option for those of us watching salt intake. It was really good with crisp lettuce, strawberries, walnuts, kiwi and sliced orange with raspberry vinaigrette. We also had gyro sandwich with a side of fried okra. It was good but the meat did not seem to be cut from a turning spit. The okra seemed to be frozen but was fair and served with ranch. It was busy but did not get the warm fuzzy most reviews spoke about. It is a true local place. They do offer 1$ ice cream on Saturdays but we did not partake. This was our first visit and certainly not going to be our last. The wait for a Saturday morning was reasonable we were told 30-40 min and waited maybe 20. The atmosphere inside with all the signs, memorabilia and various size table set ups was great. The menu/food selection was awesome, the food we ordered was fresh and tasty. Wow where to start, this was my second visit, we came here yesterday. We had spaghetti with meat sauce yesterday and was so delicious!!! The place is so very good we brought back my daughter and 2 of my granddaughters. No one was disappointed the food is outstanding and fresh!!! That lemon chicken soup it was so delicious I smelled it as it was brought up!!!! I tasted a little of everything here and I must say everything was amazing!!! They have lots of room in the booths you can sit 4 adults and two children per booth. Also has plenty of room between seat and table to fill your tummy up!!!! Yes the food is that doggone good!!!! It's worth 35 minutes drive and a 20 minute wait to be seated. I really didn't have to wait if we wanted to sit outside under the roof with ceiling fans.
