I've been eating here since I was a kid. Great flavor and plentiful portions. The chicken tomato curry chow mein is fantastic!

This is my favorite Chinese takeout. They are the only ones who know how to make the perfect pan-fried noodles, nice and crisp on the outside, not limp like spaghetti. I don't have a particular favorite dish. Everything I've had is great, but I usually get the pork chow mein and sweet n' sour pork or bbq pork. Excellent! Very consistent with friendly staff. The food is always good and you know what you'll get. The service takes no more than a 10/15 min wait to call in ahead. They have COVID friendly pick up and request you call ahead to make the process faster and smoother. read more

Aww usually this is bomb but not so amazing today ,, I got the fish plate and it was kinda burnt , with like the bummy peices of fish i was expecting something more like white looking fish inside ...but it was the gritty looking and the fish smell was really strong . the pork chow mein sauce seemed kinda as if it had been in the fridge and warmed up a lil bit so it was still like jelly ish , the chop suey was the warmest thing temperature wise and my fave but still tasted slightly different , rice was perfect , the veggies on all the plates themselves seemed fresh tho like always .. Food is great. You get a decent amount of food with a reasonable price range. I've tried half the menu, and anything over their pan-fried noodles is delicious! The people here are very friendly & the sitting area is always clean. You have to fill up your own drink, which I don't mind. There is a charge for a refill tho, but I don't mind that either as I don't drink a lot of soda. As good as their food is, I do feel like it can kinda be better. Chan's Cedar Chinese food is my favorite Chinese food place, and I'd prefer that over this place, if Chan's wasn't far. Sunrise Kitchen is just down the street from me tho. But it's not bad, so I can't complain. At least their dining area is bigger & better than Chan's. So there's that.. lol. read more

The portions are ginormous... The prices are very reasonable... The wait time is fast... And the quality of food is great! What more is there to ask for?? My fiancé always gets the "special plate" consisting of pork fried rice, chop suey chow mein, 3 fried shrimp, and bbq pork strips. I always get the "tomato beef chow mein". We ate here regularly 17 years ago. Then we moved way across town. Two weeks ago we decided to give it a try at all these years. It was great, we ordered the Mandrin Dinner for two. It was more than enough food and tasted great. Tonight my husband wanted Sunrise again, so we ordered the same thing. This time it was a disappointing dinner. There was one plate with noodles for one rice for one and sweet and sour pork for and one egg foo young Patty all in a styrofoam three section plate. Good thing I ordered paper wrapped chicken and egg rolls. Or three of us would have had to eat sandwiches. The only part of the dinner that was in a paper container was the almond chow with vegetables. That was alot of money for that dinner because you have to purchase 2 at a time. Remembered not liking this place, gave them another shot. Got the Kung pao chicken, it is light on flavor and chicken. The chicken that it does have has lots of fat in it still. I'll pass next time I think about this place. read more

This is the worst chinese food i've ever had in my life, and i've had a lotttt of chinese food from different places. the only positive about this place is the service (speedy and very friendly) and the prices (dirt cheap). The food is gross. their idea of pork chow mein is 2 giant hunks of pork on top of a huge, greasy and uncooked mountain noodles with no flavor and seasoning. The sweet and sour pork wasnt covered with sauce completely so it tasted like nasty fried pork chunks, all you taste is grease. The pork fried rice has no flavor really either. the whole dish i got was just bland. Please pass this place by instead of stopping to eat there. ugh. read more

I used to eat here back in my high school years. 8 years later, I decided to give this place another try. I ordered the chow mein w/ orange chicken. Regarding the taste of the food, I would have given this place 3 stars. But wait.... As I'm enjoying my dinner, my boyfriend finds not 1, not 2, not 3 but quite a bit of hair in the chow mein. After examining the hairs, I tried my hardest to justify it but assuming maybe it was burnt strings from the noddles?? Maybe?? But no folks, it was CLEARLY someone's hair that was once attached someplace on someones body. I'm sadden that it was such a horrible experience but I wouldn't be able to live in peace if I didn't let this incident at this place be known. read more

I live very close to this place and I love Chinese food so I stopped in for some orange chicken which is my favorite. When I got my food the best I could say about it is the fried rice was good. The chicken was ok, nothing spectacular. Ive tried their curry chicken and it was horrible, I gave it to my husband when he got off work. Ive also tried a beef dish there and it was all veggies and very little meat and I didnt like it. I only come here to eat when I have no vehicle and I do not want fast food, Denny's, or Perkos. I just stick with the orange chicken because its the only thing I have ordered there that I would eat. When I do have a vehicle (I share a vehicle with my husband) and I am craving some chinese food I do not go here. Truthfully I have not even been here in a few months because the food isnt that great. I'll probably go back though when I get desperate for some chinese food and cant go anywhere else, lol. I wont recommend this place though. If you want Chinese food and can drive somewhere else... do so. But if you are on a lunch break and cant go far then its ok. They have cheap prices and the food comes out pretty fast. Its not pre cooked, you can watch them cook your order right in front of you. read more

Why all the complaints? This place is a landmark! Their food is super low priced and the portions are huge! The service is fast and friendly and the food tastes ok. It isn't the greatest tasting food, but it is very good. This is why ANYTIME you go there, there is a long line out the door. Give it a shot once or twice and decide for yourself! read more

I have been coming here for decades and I have only gotten one bad dish (I guess it happens everywhere). One very long day after being with my wife at the hospital, I was craving Sunrise food. When I arrived, the open sign was on but it closed before I could get out of my car. I sat there for a moment trying to decide what to do for food and feeling overwhelmed after my long day. There was a knock on my car window and one of their order takers asked what I wanted to order. I told him, he went back in and I got my food in 10 minutes. Looks crazy busy but don't let that fool you. They've got enough cooks to pop out your order. One of the better fast Chinese places in Fresno. A little Americanized but what Chinese place isn't? I went to Sunrise Kitchen last night about 6pm to order and pick-up dinner for 2 adults. Two orders of BBQ chicken for dinner last night and one special combo for my lunch today (Sunday). This was my first time to order the BBQ Chicken for myself, my husband had ordered it several time for his dinner. Well, his dinner was under cooked and mine was under cooked and except for two bites of white meat the rest was all dark (I prefer white). I had already put some BBQ sauce (mine was dry too) so I didn't' take mine back and I threw my dinner in the trash however I took the other BBQ Chicken dinner back and they cooked it a bit more and gave it back to me and I took it home. He took one look at it and like me threw it in the trash -so- I called D'Ciccos and ordered an all meat large pizza, had it delivered and like always, it was very good. Now I do want to mention that always before we did carry-out from Sunrise Kitchen it was on a Friday evening and it was always delicious, this was the first time we ate from there on a Saturday.
