    Broken stairs

Stayed in economy room Pros: VIEWS!!! Comfy bed, small fan, dark closure to cover sliding glass door at night. Safe Cons: No air cond, no window to open for breeze except for the sliding glass door entry way which did not want to leave open all night. Maybe if they had a screen door for some kind of protection. Breakfast was not a breakfast. Coffee, OJ, yogurt, cereal, fruit cups and bagels. Very weird set up. The stairs down to the beach are damaged from the King Tides so the are closed off. Will need to walk North to the stairs located at the other part of the hotel. I thought it was worth it. The Station Restaurant is a great place to have breakfast and lunch.

4 stars for the location, beach views & stair access. Staff & check-in was efficient & helpful. 2 stars for the room itself. Dust. No mini-fridge, no microwave. No table for eating & only 1 chair for sitting. The bed was the smallest queen, ever. No bedside tables for water, eyeglasses, phone, etc. Wood paneling made it feel outdated & tiny pictures seemed almost pointless wall decorations. The TV was tiny, very few outlets if you need to charge electronics. I would stay here again if I want bare basics & expect to spend minimal time in the room & want decent proximity to the beach.

This place has so much potential however it needs an extreme upgrade. My husband and I stayed on part of the property that's on the beach front. The sunset was absolutely beautiful. The beach front rooms should not have carpet especially since ppl go to the beach and bring the sand into the rooms with their pets as well. I know some hotels are accepting pets because of making more money however they are NOT making upkeep with the rooms due to the pets and they should have pet only rooms. One guest had two huge dogs that scared me and another guest had 3 dogs, with 2 adults in a very small room. Our room was also very musty. I gave this lodge 2 stars because of the beautiful sunset views and the extreme closeness to the beach other wise 1 star. It get so hot in the room and there's NO ventilation. You can't open the sliding door cuz there's no screen. They need to do better!

Stayed here for two nights. Such a cute location with the beach just being a short walk from our room. Our first impression was very interesting... The front door to our room is a sliding glass door which everyone walks past. The only curtain you get is a black out curtain so if you want to be stared at by people walking about it's perfect for you! The rooms are hot even when it's super cold outside and if you want ventilation all you get is a sliding glass door with no screen so keeping it open for anyone to walk in is your only option. The view is beautiful though! THE WORST PART! If you are staying here for more than one night and you want to keep your leftovers cold you better bring an ice chest big enough. There is NO fridge. So in total no fridge, windows, or privacy (without sacrifice of any light and view of the ocean). I will say you get what you pay for when staying here. Also plan ahead when staying here because everything food related closes at 8pm.

This place had a million dollar view of the raging ocean and rick formations, making it look like Middle Earth. But there were issues. First the heater sounds like a hair dryer that goes on and off all night. Second, the linen was awful. Pillows like q tips with a nasty blanket that felt like the thickness of a Kleenex. Why can't there be great linen? It's the most important component to a great nights sleep. Check in guy was nice, but at these prices the rooms and services should be much nicer!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Everything about this place! My husband and I arrived around 12 pm I'm sure way too early for check-in but they didn't even blink an eye. They got us checked in with a smile and gave us tips about where to eat, great customer service! Unfortunately, the battery in our car decided it was a good time to die after a two-hour drive. We went back into the office and the awesome Lady behind the desk was up and grabbing her keys to help us with a charge. Above and beyond, thanks again! When we were done buying a new battery we went to our room it was clean, had wood floors, and was tastefully decorated and very modern. But the very best thing about this room is the view!! Stunning! And just a few stairs from the gorgeous, clean beach! My husband and I made a pact to come back once a year. It's that good!! And the room we stayed in was totally upgraded. I have no idea why there is anything under 4 stars from other patrons unless they are the competition.

This is one of my favorite rooms ever - it is so cute and vintage - it's a great bargain. Walk across the quiet street and get a view that is worthy of its own tourist destination designation. We stayed in rustic doubles - Bathroom looks like it was from the mid century and very well kept up. There are tiny wood windows next to sliders and in bathroom to get cross ventilation. Not sure how you can downgrade a hotel for no fridge or microwave if they don't advertise a fridge and a microwave. Try to imagine what it was like before you had everything at your fingertips and take a walk to the ice machine. Tons of fluffy towels and toiletries, beds clean. You want to see what a real one or two star motel go stay in Quality Inn Grants Pass. Highly recommend!!

All three times we stayed in the "sunset suites" rooms. Rooms 201, 202, and 203 are looking straight at the beach. The indoor pool is airy. There is always hot coffee available. The hotel has its own private path the incredible beach across the street. With that amount of payment immediately, I presumed that I would be treated well, not have to call the front desk twice, who routed me to the reservation coordinator, and then another two emails to ask for details. The details, once provided, were sparse, and upon asking if I could at least book more rooms if they were available, never received a response, even though I could see that the email had been delivered and read. This was a very disappointing interaction, and in particular when it was for setting up a happy weekend. I have taken my cash to another Inn, where I have had warm customer service, time updates, details on logistics, and a helpfulness which has been stress-reducing. They have even making the effort to call other businesses on my behalf, so to say that their customer service is excellent, is an understatement.

Everything is small. The beds, the rooms, the stove, the shower, the toilet. All smaller than you are used to. Definitely not ADA accessible. - This place is old. It smells like your Great Aunt's house and you'll be checking the cupboards for Ribbon Candy. - The place is clean. Spotless. Linens were fresh and not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. Dishes, cups, everything. Super clean. - It's not modern. At all. You'll use a real key. You'll get a handwritten receipt for your stay. The WiFi is a strange little router plugged in to a random ceiling plug. The stove is small and has coil burners. - It has great beach access. Out your back door and a few steps away. Okay, several steps but still close. - Close to the old town. You're about a 5 minute drive to the old downtown and far off the highway so there is no noise. - It's expensive. A tad uncomfortable with the price but you're paying for the beach access and view. There is a chain hotel across the street that is significantly cheaper but if you want the access, get your credit card out. Hotels / motels are limited in this town and this was the best option we saw. We will stay here again. Once you get over the "weird" of the room set up (it takes about an hour) you will really like the place.

This review is difficult for me to write because, honestly, I wanted to love this place…read more The location is beautiful. The proximity to the beach is outstanding, the setting is relaxing, and the property has tremendous potential to provide a wonderful coastal experience. That is part of what makes this experience so disappointing. I did not want to write this review out of anger or spite. In fact, my initial goal was simply to alert management to a serious issue so it could be addressed before another guest experienced the same thing. During my stay, I discovered multiple bed bugs on the bedding. I photographed the insects, photographed where they were found, and documented the resulting bites. The issue was significant enough that we felt unsafe remaining in the room. What happened next was even more disappointing than the discovery itself. We immediately attempted to contact the hotel for assistance. We called the regular hotel phone number, called the emergency contact number posted on the office door, and sent multiple emails. Despite repeated attempts, we received no response. With no assistance available, we were forced to find alternative accommodations late at night, around 10:00 PM, incurring additional expenses, stress, disruption to our travel plans, and concern about possible exposure to our belongings. The following morning, because all of our attempts to contact management had gone unanswered, we returned to the property in person to speak with management directly. I was not looking for a confrontation. I was looking for compassion, accountability, and reassurance that the matter would be taken seriously. Instead, I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience rather than a legitimate health and safety issue. I will also note that management declined to accept responsibility for the condition of the room. While I cannot speak to when the issue originated or whether management was previously aware of it, the number of insects I discovered and documented left me deeply concerned about the extent of the problem. To management's credit, a refund was eventually issued. However, a refund does not erase the experience, the inconvenience of having to relocate late at night, the bites, the anxiety of potentially bringing bed bugs home, or the feeling that our concerns were not genuinely heard. What troubles me most is that I sincerely expressed my hope that the issue was isolated and encouraged management to thoroughly investigate it for the protection of future guests. My purpose then, and now, is not retaliation. It is concern that another family may unknowingly find themselves in the same position. I hope the hotel conducts a thorough inspection and remediation of any affected rooms. Every guest deserves a clean, safe place to sleep and a management team that responds promptly and compassionately when serious concerns arise.

It was impeccably clean and featured standard amenities like a coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. It also had a USB charging port on the bedside table, which I always appreciate. Both bed and bath linens were fresh and clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The room is adorned with beautiful coastal photographs taken by the motel owners, who are apparently professional photographers. My favorite room had a loft spot to sleep, and was private with a great view of the harbor. Kitchen and lounge areas were clean and I met some nice hostelers too. If you enjoy hosteling, this is a good one to visit. They also rent full guesthouse rooms, separately, with views, but I have only stayed at the hostel. Hosteling is very different from hotelling, and it is NOT for everyone, so I would rate this 3 or 4 stars for a hostel, but if you compare it to a regular hotel, i have no idea. Hostels are not camping, not bed and breakfasts, but nor are they hotels or motels, so I have no idea really how to rate them, except hostel to hostel. Hosteling is affordable, social and educational. Someday I'd love to own a hostel.
