Price is reasonable $8-20 a person (depending if you want boiled seafood) so it's definitely a decent value. We did wait a while for our food and had to flag down an employee twice. This was our first time ordering from this restaurant, and we were super excited because we've been trying new restaurants due to Covid. This was a little pricier than we would normally spend, but we figured we'd give it try. The fried pickles and seafood pasta were good, but nothing extraordinary to say the least. The shrimp alfredo was mediocre. 1st bite into the cheese sticks is where the meal went downhill. It taste like off brand cheese fried in fish fry. Upon opening the chicken alfredo the smell of scorched and burnt chicken got the kids immediately. We removed the chicken in hopes they would eat it but no luck there as the pasta tasted scorched as well. Two pasta dishes wasted and one appetizer almost untouched. We decided to give the dog the chicken breast and he wouldn't even eat it. I wish that was a joke! We will not be ordering from this place again and hope nobody else wastes money here. read more

I like Super Shack. I am glad to have a place like this in McKinney. I give 4 stars because some of their staff is not very friendly or seem pissy. The food is average like any other seafood shack place. My favorite is the cocktail shrimp, which is authentically Mexican. The fish & shrimp baskets are not bad. Wow. Really not impressed. First off I had no idea that this wasn't a restaurant with servers. You have to stand in line to order at the bar and pay and get your drinks. You have to get up to get refills. So not what I wanted to do for dinner. I ordered the grilled chicken PO boy. This was terrible. The bread was stale. This place is awesome!! On a "let's give it a shot" date, we came in to see what it's about. We got a fried fish and shrimp plate, an grilled tuna plate, and calamari appetizer, and all of it was amazing. Also, this restaurant has the order and pay first system instead having a waiter or waitress. I'm a huge fan!! So to top off the great food and wonderful experience, the bread pudding dessert was delicious. We had the fried oyster poboy, tuna steak and fried pickles with one drink. The bill was $33 before tip. Everything was out within 6-7 minutes. The food quality was just ok- especially given the price. The ambiance is not great and there is no table service (you order at the counter and that's it). Order was placed wrong after clearly repeating it back. The fish was so bland I could barely eat it. In fact was only able to eat maybe a piece of my 3 piece order and that was just to not completely waste our money. The fries were cooked really thin almost chip like and bland as well. My daughter got the kids chicken tenders they were ok, your normal kids chicken situation but also with bland fries. My husband got the chicken and sausage gumbo it was burned. I had to put the phone on speaker because it was so awful trying to get the proper order taken. Once we arrived, we were so tired and hungry and craving seafood. We eat here about once a week for lunch, and it's a good place to go. We especially like the fish & chips, fried catfish, and wings. Onion rings are fantastic! Love the hushpuppies! Burgers are good, and salads are generous. Service is always friendly, always fast, and tea is always fresh. Definitely a great addition to McKinney's restaurant scene. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of the food based on some previous reviews. The catfish was fresh and hot, not muddy tasting at all and obviously prepared after I ordered. The fries and onion rings are fresh and delicious. The mark of a great fish restaurant is the cole slaw according to my husband and this was delicious. An average of $10 a meal for fresh seafood is a great price. If the spiciness is not up to your level, they have horseradish and a variety of hot sauces to spice things up. Even the tartar sauce seemed homemade and not poured out of a bottle. I will recommend this to all my friend and definitely return and soon. read more

We just went to the soft open. My family had the cheese sticks, hush puppies, bowl of gumbo, bowl of shrimp soup, the grouper. Everything taste real good. Very excited to have a new go to place. Not a favorite. I give it two stars because my wife said her shrimp fettuccine was good. First, I hate going to a restaurant and ordering from a counter with a huge board menu to read from. Causes a huge delay trying to see what to order. Second, the food comes out at different times. Ordered an appetizer, and it came out with my meal. Followed by my sons entree, then finally my wife's entree. And lastly, the raw oysters, which had limes on it, not lemon. Well when we first came in we didn't know where to go and order so we walked around a little and finally found a sign saying order at register (couldn't find that for awhile either). Then we placed our order and the lady was nice and they also have nice waiter. I got red snapper with fries and rice. The fish seemed frozen, the rice was fried rice and tasted bland and like nothing, the fries were fries. I can only give a review on the fried catfish and shrimp and it is amazing! Fried in the corn meal batter (which we prefer). We've been here a handful of times and they never miss the mark. My husband is addicted. lol Fries are good, nothing special. Hard finding a good fried seafood spot in McKinney so hopefully it stays this good (and stays literally) This location has been known to change up alot. Customer service is great.
