Spicy mussels and a dozen oysters
    Windy G.

Update 2024: 5star. I mean it. Get the spicy mussels. Get the oysters. Get the seafood tower. You're all set. Come here. It's BEEN REALLY GOOD FOOD FOR A FEW YEARs -staff is exceptional. Come watch a game-come for happy hour. Sorry not to update sooner. My Hubs and I love it here. Prove me wrong. Old review when they first opened. I'm dying to give you more stars as soon as you correct your service issue. It should not take so long to stand in line to place an order. However, the food is fantastic! McKinney has made it a restaurant like this for a very long time. Please put a smile on your face, speed up the ordering process and you are good to go to deserve the title of super shack!

This restaurant I situated in Dallas area. I had the catfish and shrimps basket big plate. The fried catfish was crispy outside and moist inside. I will Come back. You have to order and they will serve you at your table.

    Fried shrimp Poboy.

Five star! No complaints!! this is actually on our regular rotation. Definitely go for the fried shrimp, Poboy, onion, rings (they are the o rings to beat!), and shrimp cocktail! My kids also love the! birria!! and it looks like everyone orders the ceviche so there must be some little secret we don't know about as well...

I've been meaning to try this place ever since they closed Joe's Crab Shack in Plano. We went late on a Friday afternoon.... after lunch but before dinner. The place was clean and had nice decor. As others have mentioned, the first thing you do is place your order at the bar/counter. They give you a number and bring it to your table. We ordered fried calamari, the chicken and sausage gumbo (I asked to add shrimp), the clam chowder, the 4 chicken/2 catfish fillet basket, and the boiled "Supershack Platter for Two". (1/2 lb snow crab legs, 1/2 lb shrimp. Served with corn, sausage and potatoes) The good news: the food arrived promptly and everything looked pretty good. My wife and I thought both our soups were very tasty. The bad news: My wife thought her fillet basket was ok, but nothing special. As for my boiled "Platter for Two"... it wasn't really a platter for two, unless neither person was very hungry. The shrimp was pretty good, but the snow crab legs were small, scrawny, and a little overcooked. No better than the scrawny crab legs you find on any number of Chinese buffets in the area. So disappointing. Oh, and they didn't put any shrimp in my gumbo even though I paid for it. Summary: Meh. Not really "Super Shack"...more like "Ok Shack". It's a shame....I really wanted to like this place. We might come back sometime, but we're not in a hurry to return.

A little hidden gem of a place! Why go to BDubs to watch the game and get the same old fried food when you can come here... Uber roomy, lots of TV's, specials when the Cowboys are playing, and super delish Cajun food! Holla! Think of the last time you went to a popular sports bar. There's no drink specials, duh... 'cause it's busy! They offer waitress' in cute outfits. I'd rather have good food and great hospitality by the owners and their family. When we told them it was our first time there, they each came and introduced themselves and how passionate they are to see their community grow there. And....the food is impeccable. See y'all game day!

    Spicy garlic butter crawfish

Not the place I'd send someone for boiled crawfish. Too much good competition out there. Meat lacked flavor. Too many questionable ones that had super mushy meat. Frozen corn too rubbery. Only pro is their $8.99/lb includes corn and potato but that's not enough to draw me back for crawfish. I'm willing to try the other menu items though. Places is big and clean. Servers were pleasant.

Grilled Oysters. Who's idea was it to throw shaved Parmesan on this. Also, it's very very soupy to be grilled
    La Jonet W.

NO FLAVOR!!!! I'm gonna give them 2 stars for cleanliness & great customer service. We ordered the NEW ITEM, Grilled Oysters, what a terrible choice. Who's idea was it to slap a piece of shaved Parmesan cheese on the grilled Oyster???? BAD IDEA. The oysters tasted RAW & were really soupy to claim to be grilled (See below pic). I also ordered the fried oysters & fried catfish. They must have forgotten to season it, but it was fried to perfection. Don't let the presentation fool you. I also had a Caesar Salad, that was also , the Caesar was SOUPY. We also ordered the boiled shrimp, those were okay. The fries tasted like they had been marinating in oil. The best part of this experience was the frozen pina colada. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for flavor, but if your on a restricted diet where you should stay away from flavor, this may be your spot, but it's a NO for me. The Staff was friendly tho

Shrimp cocktail to go (size small)

3.5/5 stars - food is decent and prices are pretty fair especially since seafood tends to be on the pricey side. On Mondays, the alfredo pasta (your choice of chicken or shrimp) is only $9.99. The alfredo sauce is pretty tasty even though it's not as thick as I am used to. Although the sauce is on the runny side, it's still got flavor. The fettuccine was cooked to perfection. I opted for shrimp over chicken and thought the six pieces of shrimp I got were pretty solid. Overall a decent dish - great price and good portion. The hushpuppies are better than average. My friend normally doesn't care for hushpuppies but was pretty pleased with Super Shack's hushpuppies. They give you 6 pieces for $1.99. My friend opted for the 2 filet and 3 shrimp combo platters and substituted the fries with onion rings. The fried fish and shrimp were pretty average and nothing to write home about. I don't recommend the onion rings - I was not feeling the batter. Maybe it was underwhelming because we got it to-go? All in all, I'm not a huge fan but I am open to trying them again.

    Fried catfish and shrimp

This is my second visit. I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp. The portions where great but the seasoning just wasn't there. I believe they want you to used all their condiments like hot sauce and taptio. I did use all that. I like my seafood to stand on its own. This is just average no frills. The fries were not special. The appearance looked better than the taste

Not what I expected it to be. The gumbo had a thick consistency, not very flavorful. The shrimp was juicy but needed more seasoning.

You have to seat yourself - there were enough vacant tables to pick from. Within a few minutes, our server was over and helped us narrow down on what we wanted to order. I went for a Crushed Velvet Mule in addition to Cali, Buffalo (both grilled versions) and Burg B Q. We told our server that between me and my wife, we will be sharing the chicken sandwich and hence requested that it be sliced into 2. Not only were the burgers sliced, it was served in separate plates with sides as well - that was a really nice touch. Cali was a bit bland, Buffalo and Burg B Q were both really nice. The drink was nice as well. There was live music but we were seated near a table that was pretty boisterous, could hardly hear anything. The outdoor seating overlooking greenery and events they do at the restaurant make the place quite different - we will definitely be back soon to try other options on the menu.

We didn't even finish our food and gave it to our dogs instead. The atmosphere was...gross and felt trashy with loud drunks. We decided to try Brass Tap again tonight for dinner. We have been here once before about 3 years…read moreago and it was ok, nothing too memorable - nothing horrible. Food was ok. So, we thought - why not, it's close- let's go and see if we like it better this time. Let's start with the positives. We arrived shortly after 5pm and the place was pretty empty so we were seated right away. The server was friendly and immediately took our drink orders. She was attentive and service was fast. No complaints with her service at all. It seemed pretty chill and low key. A few people trickled in but nothing crazy for a Saturday night. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised. The color of the pretzel had me fooled. It was pretty dark in color which usually indicates overdone and hard so when it was amazingly soft inside - wow! So good! We loved the mustard and cheese sauce that came with it. My husband and son ordered a burger and said they were tasty, my other son ordered the chicken strips and said they were good. Negative for the meal, I ordered the blackened cod tacos and subbed the chips and salsa for the Gilroy Garlic Fries. I was very excited for the garlic fries since we are originally from that area and are very knowledgeable about the famous Gilroy Garlic Festival and all things Garlic. Here's where this dish wasn't exciting - the tacos were pretty bland. I took the coleslaw from my son's chicken tenders to try and add more flavor and make the taco more palatable. I only ate 1 of the 2 because there really was just zero flavor. The fries were probably an even greater disappointment. In the center, was a very small amount of cheese and maybe garlic? It had virtually zero garlic taste - I was searching for it. It was a sad version of garlic fries. I would not order that again unless they were improved upon. I went back and forth on 3 stars versus 4 stars because while service was great and fast, I can't confidently say I'd recommend it to someone. I may say it's a great place to chill for a beer and an appetizer but definitely NOT a meal. I think if your expectations are to stick with the appetizer list then you're probably going to like it. They have a large beer selection and plenty of screens for your favorite games.

The Brass Tap was founded in Florida in 2008, with 50 locations across 12 states. This location in Allen opened in 2015. Our group of six arrived for lunch on a weekday, and it wasn't very crowded inside. The one bartender was doing all of the front of house chores. He was very good, doing the easy customer interaction that appears to be simple but actually isn't that common. Waters were gotten for the table, and he was receptive to our offer of help. We ordered a selection of most things on the shareable bar menu (many of them Happy Hour prices): including pepperoni pizza, boom boom shrimp, mac 'n cheese, onion rings, pretzel, plain cheese burger with fries, brisket taco platter, chicken quesadilla, and chicken wings. Everything was OK to good, with me really liking the crispiness of the well fried french fries and the well-filled quesadilla. I did get to share a couple of drinks with my nephew including a pint of Paulaner ($7.25) and HH drink of the week (a bourbon sour mix for $7). A cool feature at a Brass Tap is their leader board: a Brew Crew Hall of Brews where patrons that have drunk at least 100 different beers at this location get their name listed.

I'm not a fan of constant interruptions while eating, so that balance was appreciated. The place itself is awesome. Plenty of TVs, a great layout, outdoor patio, and a great bar area. The downtown McKinney location is ideal and easy walking distance to other shops and restaurants, so no need to keep driving around. Food was great. The burger was juicy and flavorful even well done. The salmon was also well done with crispy edges and a slab of butter that melted right over it great flavor. Hoping that butter option is available for the steak because that's next on my list. Sides were solid too. Only thing I wasn't big on was the fries. They're super thin, so they were crispy but had a slightly hard, borderline stale texture. Just my opinion though. overall still a great experience. Definitely coming back. Our booth was very comfortable and easily fit our family of five. The noise level is above average, but not for a sports bar/brewery. It was just right for us. The menu isn't big, so I suggest perusing before arriving, especially if you have dietary restrictions or are picky. Our family settled on + Korean Shrimp Tacos (no dairy). The kitchen was super careful not to include any dairy in my tacos. They were tasty, but I didn't realize the shrimp would be fried and the slaw would be removed to accomodate my no dairy request. I would pick something else next time. + Big Tavern Burger for my husband and he loved it! Even the fries were a hit. + Big Tavern Burger with cheese and grilled onions only for one of the kids. + Plain hamburger and a single meat patty for our other two kiddos. + Hubby and I both got unsweet iced teas and the tea was brewed just right.
