We came here on a Friday night with friends after the place we originally planned to go to had a very long wait. This restaurant was nearby, so we decided to give it a try without high expectations since they offer both AYCE and individual orders. Surprisingly, it wasn't just the meat, but the vegetables. The owner grows the vegetables in their own garden, and they were incredibly fresh and delicious. Honestly, that alone deserves a 5/5. The doenjang jjigae was also excellent--rich and comforting. The service was very friendly, and they even packed up the leftover vegetables for us to take home, which was such a thoughtful touch. The inside of the restaurant was a bit messy, but it was understandable, and the owner's generosity and warm hospitality left a great impression overall.

Must try their duck bbq It's my reason to go to this restaurant! However their pork belly and eel BBQ are other options too. Top quality meat and home grown fresh organic vegetables to complement the meat equals to a wonderful meal any day and time. Healthy choice for your body!! The owner is very friendly and the salad she made was amazingly delicious

Why is this radish green? The smell was suspicious also.

First, my friend and I arrived at 11 AM, the advertised open time. An older man was inside mopping and asked us to come back in 30 minutes. Normally I'd go somewhere else but I had time and good company to wait. We came back in at 11:33 and he said to wait another 5 minutes. After the long wait we were first to be seated but second to be waited on. A Korean couple came in after us, was waited on first, and greeted properly. The man that was mopping earlier comes to our table second and shortly asks what we wanted to order. Before we could finish ordering all 4 meats he walked away. He brought 2 servings, turned up the fire, and walks away again. We were not asked about drink orders or sides at this point. Finally a woman enters and we were able to get water and sides from her. When we asked for the rest of our order she pointed to a buffet table. We get up and see that there are some sides available, but they are not fresh. The broccoli section had a few crumbs left (see pic) and the salad was browning. Maybe this was from a day or two before?? We were the first ones there so there was no excuse for the dismal presentation. Oh, and let me also say that the radish was green and sour. The kimchi had a terrible smell and needed to be dumped. On top of this, we were the only ones told to get up and serve ourselves. By this time, 3 other tables were seated and all being served as is typical of a KBBQ spot. The meat we did receive (never got the full order) was bland. We weren't offered more water. The woman was happily chatting with the Korean patrons and we felt like an after thought. Overall, the poor service, bland meat, and days old sides made this a "one and done" situation. There are so many tasty KBBQ places to go to in the area, go somewhere else.

Fresh Organic Ssamm from owner garden everyday!! So healthy!! I like coming this restaurant ~

I'd never been there before, so this review is all about first impressions. As we approached, the sign caught my attention: "Under New Ownership." Outside, an employee sat scrolling on his phone. It was a quiet Sunday around 3 PM, and we were the only patrons in sight. Checking Yelp beforehand had been a bit of a letdown, as their menu featured items they no longer offer. No links were available either. We ordered half a pound of pulled pork, half a pound of brisket, and four pieces of cornbread--all priced reasonably. Their tap selection turned out to be decent. The Cali Squeeze Blood Orange was a standout, and they also seemed to carry Firestone Walker products, including 805. The staff were friendly and responsive, which was refreshing. While the brisket had cooled by the time we got home, it was still tender and flavorful--just like the pulled pork. The real surprise? The chimichurri that accompanied the brisket--an unexpected and delightful touch. Overall, I'd rate the experience as average. While it's clear they've got potential, a bit more effort could turn Wholly Smokes into a go-to spot. Leaning in on those small details would really elevate the experience.

When I saw that the menu was slightly different at each one, I knew I had to come to the Artesia restaurant specifically for the ube bibingka! The Artesia store is in a rather large shopping center that has LOTS of eateries as well as a 99 Ranch Market, so parking during peak hours and weekends can become quite the hunt. The interior decor and set up is very similar in both locations. This one is also very clean and seating is spaced comfortably. Orders are placed at the counter and your food is brought to your table when it's ready. Exclusive to the Artesia location's menu are 3 different kinds of pansit, so of course I had to try the pansit bihon as well as a chicken inasal plate. For dessert I had to try the 2 varieties if bibingka that were not available in Anaheim: ube and Macapuno. My foodie friend ordered the chicken skewers plate and an original bibingka. Everything was SO good!!! My chicken inasal plate came with 2 portions of leg & thigh, java rice, a small sampling of papaya salad, and a cup of egg drop soup. Whatever they marinate the chicken in made the meat SO tender and flavorful. The pansit bihon filled an entire to go container! The glass noodles were light (compared to egg noodles) and the whole dish was seasoned perfectly. Even with sharing the pansit with my friend, I still ended up taking more than half home with me. Same for the bibingkas. I ended up sharing the bibingkas with my son later that evening. The ube one is a must try for ube lovers. The macapuno one had a generous amount of coconut "strings" in it. Both were the perfect combination of creamy, light, yet decadent and very addictive. Service was friendly and efficient. Food is made fresh when ordered and came out fairly quickly. (bibingkas are made in fresh batches throughout the day). It's safe to say that I am now a huge fan of Tony's Barbecue. Brisket, Sirloin Steak, and Beef Bulgogi was absolutely delicious. Ordered multiple of each, especially the Sirloin Steak. Salad bar was always stocked with sides. You can have your own portions of different meat sauces. You can go up as much as you want! The employees are attentive. They'd check on each table and take our empty trays. Very nice since most places won't check as much, and we're left with a pile. The bathrooms were clean, the dining area itself was clean, and our table was clean when we got there. A few things about this place that differ from others. There are NO REFILLS for drinks other than water. Get a fountain drink because it's 32 oz and will last you most of the time. The beef ribs were really good, big and properly cooked, the kind of meat you actually talk about on the way home. The galbi was right there with them, savory and satisfying, and between the two we were set. The kids loved the spam musubi. That alone would have made the stop worth it for us. Spam musubi is one of those things that either works for kids or turns into a negotiation, and here there was no negotiation. They were happy, which meant the adults got to eat in peace for a minute. Dessert sealed it. They have a version of Dole Whip that tastes just like Disneyland. I am not being cute about that. Same soft, cold, pineapple hit you remember from the park, which is a wild thing to get after a plate of ribs in Anaheim. We finished full and already half-planning the next visit. One caveat: it was really smoky inside. Enough that I noticed it the whole meal. If I could give 4.5 I would, but I'm rounding up because the food was that good. Portions felt solid for a plate-lunch place, the vibe was casual and family-friendly, and nothing about the meal felt fussy. I've been avoiding coming to this place since last year when I've read a lot of bad Yelp reviews…read moreabout it - but thought we should give it chance on a less-busy middle-of-the-weekday and arrived about 5pm. It wasn't busy at all - which I was thankful, because in general, if a restaurant is busy, that usually means we don't get good service - SO I was very happy the server came and seated us right away. Our order was taken promptly and was stoked that they had an open bar for sides (buffet-style) to serve myself immediately for the salads, kimchi, sesame oil, seasoning, rice-paper (wolnamssam-yong), radish wrap (Ssam-mu), etc. - because in my experience with other KBBQ restaurants, the servers NEVER come fast enough to refill those sides for you, so I'm super relieved about this place for allowing us full control of that - without my feeling like I have to keep waving down a server. I was also excited to see additional sides offered as part of this very reasonably-priced All-You-Can-Eat! I had Miso-soup, even got Korean Seaweed Roll, Fried-Rice, fruits - Pineapple chunks, Orange slices, Jello (my fave)! They also had Mac-salad, Potato salad, also offered cooked fried chicken, baby clams, crawfish, fried wontons, edamame, eomuk (Korean fish cakes), Japchae (Korean Glass Noodle), etc. Plenty of sides also offered self-serve that you can cook on the grill, like onions, broccoli, mushrooms, etc. I was impressed with their choices at this price point! SO, my recommendation is - give this place a chance - sometimes restaurants do have bad days (as do servers and employees) which can get them a bad Yelp review). Today I appreciated that the servers were helpful and attentive. I LOVED the food: We ordered the Beef Brisket, Marinated Beef Bulgogi, Beef Belly, Pork Belly, Marinated Pork Belly - and yes, ALL included at the same price point (we went for the cheapest menu option) at $24.99 per person - so much value for that low price! Now I'm afraid to post this review because want this place for myself to be my own secret (LOL) - I loved the fact it wasn't crowded for such a huge venue - and we got served right away +++++!
