    Lemon Flush Roll
    Jake A.

I visited sushi 101 on a breezy and sunny Thursday. I initially sat outside and ordered some green tea, but soon found it too cold. Our server was very accommodating and simply moved our service inside without a thought. She was also extremely attentive and polite throughout our visit. The location is adorned smartly and minimally with pleasant and unobtrusive music - a great place to spend an afternoon. I had the sushi and roll box with a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll was made well, and it complemented the salad in the bento box well. But the star was the spring rolls, which were crispy yet tender and had a fantastic umami flavor. I also tried my dining mate's lemon flush roll, which was not to my taste but was clearly made with a lot of love and was something I hadn't tried before. His Alaska roll, however, was buttery and moist, and the torched salmon on top adorned the roll perfectly. 10/10, will dine again.

Wanted to try a new sushi spot and glad we gave Sushi 101 a shot! Lots of food came in the chicken teriyaki bento box (egg rolls weren't the greatest but generous to add 2). Would order from here again. All the rolls we tried were good too: -cucumber roll -dynamite roll (very filling!) -aloha roll -lemon flush roll

The restaurant is dimly lit. It's an ok place to have dinner but not nice enough to have a casual date. The staff was polite. The takoyaki was really good, so I was hopeful for the sushi. Unfortunately the lemon flush roll was not good. The scallop was cooked but I probably should have asked. The biggest offender was the sushi rice. It was tasteless, dry, and slightly tough like the refrigerated sushi one would find at 7 Eleven. Might return for the takoyaki, but sushi is a no-go here.

Got take out and was impressed with the packaging. They provided plenty of sauce, wasabi, and ginger. The baked scallop roll wasn't good, it seemed like they over baked the scallops. All other rolls were really delicious and fresh!

The food was amazing and I had a great time! The service was pretty good as well. My only complaint was when we walked in there was no one there and we had to find our server. The restaurant also looks awesome with a bunch of posters. Overall, no complaints.

A Comprehensive, Multi-Course Deep Dive…read more From World-Class Tinned Fish to Next-Level Desserts--A Masterclass on the Sunset Strip! Saltie Girl delivers a stunning masterclass in coastal dining, seamlessly bridging East Coast charm with sleek Los Angeles glamour. Nestled right on the lively Sunset Strip, the location is unbeatable for high-end people-watching, especially if you snag a spot on the heated, sun-drenched patio. Inside, the space feels like an upscale maritime sanctuary with plush seafoam green banquettes, inlaid brass, and a buzzing, wrap-around counter that keeps you close to the kitchen's action. The waitstaff here are consummate professionals--highly engaging, deeply knowledgeable about the extensive menu, and impeccably timed with the multi-course progression. Even the presentation is beautifully curated; every single dish arrives on uniquely cute, custom-patterned plates that make the meal feel like an artistic experience before you even take a bite. As for the food, it is an absolute tour de force. We kicked things off with their legendary tinned seafood selection, opting for a tin of premium sardines. Served elegantly on a board with artisan bread, curated salts, and house-made butter, it completely redefines how complex and luxurious tinned fish can be. Next came the lobster deviled eggs ("lobster devota"), which were incredibly rich, beautifully piped, and decadent. For the main events, the crispy fried fish sandwich is easily one of the absolute best in the city--shattered-crisp, perfectly golden, and beautifully balanced with sharp tartar sauce on a plush potato bun. But the showstopper might just be the warm buttered lobster roll. It is piled impossibly high with sweet, tender, uniform chunks of pristine meat drenched in rich butter and served on a perfectly toasted bun. Make sure to save room for dessert, because the sweet endings are just as spectacular. The SweetBoy chocolate chip cookie arrives warmed to order, boasting a perfect balance of rich Valrhona chocolate and a generous sprinkle of crunchy Maldon sea salt. If you want something truly unforgettable, the pistachio tiramisu is a work of art--luxurious pistachio cream layered with gluten-free ladyfingers and a brilliant toffee crunch that offers the perfect textural contrast. Saltie Girl is a premium, splurge-worthy experience, but between the stunning plates, phenomenal service, and stellar execution, it is worth every single dollar. Late review we can't wait to return

Server was nice but when we were leaving we had like 5 different people pack our to go box and when we looked what they packed for us, it looks like they literally threw it in there. For what we ate, no it's not worth $500 Food = no I won't be coming back Service = server was nice, how they packed the food, no

I got the skirt steak cooked medium rare -- flavor was good, but it was a little tough to cut. I think it would've paired even better with some garlic butter or chimichurri on the side. The mac and cheese was SO good and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Creamy, flavorful, and definitely something I'd order again. The pork chops were delicious and packed with flavor, but the spinach underneath was a bit too bitter for my taste. The mashed potatoes were creamy, soft, and comforting. We also loved the Brussels sprouts and Caesar salad -- both were super solid sides. Drinks were perfect and balanced out the dishes really well. Service and atmosphere were great too. Would definitely come back to try more items on the menu next time we are in the area.

To say we are devastated is an understatement. Connie and Ted's was both our "just because" and our special occasion dinner spot. We came here all the time when we wanted something fresh, clean, new, and delicious. We loved their rotating specials and fish of the day (although I would always default to the monkfish whenever it was in the menu). Well, our last visit this past Saturday was memorable, and just as good (if not better) as our previous visits. We started off with some oysters, got the New England clam chowder, Parker rolls to dip them in, and my wife got the Saturday New England Boil Dinner special, and I got my monkfish. Everything was impeccable. And we had to finish the night with one of our favorite desserts in the city, the blondie. We'll miss this place, and we wish the best for the owners in their new endeavors. Hopefully they reopen in the future, because there will be a Connie and Ted's shaped hole in our hearts (and stomach).

Had a great solo experience at the bar tonight that started with happy hour drinks and a mini lobster roll that continued on to dinner with steamed manilla clams in white wine and herbed crostini. Everything was chefs kiss on every level. I hope to come back a few more times before they close (but aren't forgotten).
