Leftover baked salmon and tempura salmon rolls

Our favorite local spot for all things sushi and ramen. We have been coming for the last 6years and it never disappoints. (We even take our vegetarian friend here for the mushroom roll!) Frank is great at recommending items to try based on your preferences. He even recommended that we take home house dressing to bake salmon in and it is now a family and friend's favorite!

I miss this place. We used to live in Rancho Cucamonga and frequented this place whenever we'd have a craving. In one of their anniversaries, they even gave us a Sushi 909 coffee mug give away. My wife was in the area and got me my favorite fix - Chirashi Sushi. I've forgotten how good this place was. I even got a miso soup and salad with it - pleasant surprise. We got two dragon rolls and now I'm convinced that we have to start going back to this place. The tempura udon was like comfort food - soup was delicious and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The tempura was perfect - we put it in the toaster a bit to crunch them up since we didn't get to eat till about an hour after. The packaging was complete and neatly arranged. The condiments - ginger, wasabi and soy sauce were very generously portioned. Thank you for the quality. Next time - we will be dining in.

Found my new sushi spot in Ontario or Rancho. I come from LA and one of the things that I look for is a sushi chef who is over the age of 35. I learned that it takes at least 12 years to become a true sushi chef. I also like the set up with the sushi bar and I can tell that, this is an authentic place. I ordered two different tempura sushi rolls and I loved them. I will definitely be trying all my favorites plus the chef specials whenever I can. I ordered food to go but I do love the interior decor and ambience. One thing I don't miss about LA is how crowded restaurants are since 90% of people don't cook. I was able to get my food in less than 20 minutes. One of the rolls was so huge that it was hard to eat, so they definitely don't skimp on the serving size. I think I'm gonna make this a weekly stop. I took really good pictures of the menu so that you guys can easily choose the sushi that you like based on the pictures.

I was visiting my family in the area and told my sister I was craving for boba and sushi. So she chose this place. I looked it up and she showed me the menu on her phone and wow, the choices this place had!!!! It was so much and I couldn't narrow it down. But I had to make a decision and pick 2 even though I could easily have picked 5 or 6, probably even more rolls. She ordered over the phone and it was a bit difficulty. Whomever answered I guess was new because she said she never has problems over the phone. But this guy was so obsessed with getting her name for the order right, I almost wanted to say, just let it go, does it really matter that much!!!??? It almost took more time to get her name than to take our actual order! Anyways, my sister ordered some stuff for the family, I ordered the Tiger Roll and Crunch Scallop Roll. Parking lot was pretty packed since it shared a lot with other stores and restaurants, so my brother-in-law got out of the car to get the food. Everything was correct and I couldn't wait to eat it. I was so happy with what I ordered, I've never been to a sushi place where the scallops were actually fried and put on top and scattered around. The pieces were huge too and they gave a good amount. I would definitely get this again. The Tiger roll was so good too, shrimp tempura and crab on the inside, shrimp and avocado on top!!!! Yum!!!! I can't wait to go here again, there's so much more I wanna in addition to these 2 rolls that already has me hooked on this place!

I loved coming here pre covid so I decided to walk in after so long. Sad to know the old chef is no longer working there :( we ordered the baked albacore roll, shrimp tempura roll, and some albacore and shrimp sushi. I forgot the name of the last roll but it was baked and had crawfish. The rolls were amazing like I remember. The albacore sushi was good but the shrimp sushi was hard and the rice didn't taste to good. The waitress was nice and the restaurant seemed clean. Would come back again

Then I thought should that be a sign...? but we still decided to give them a try. We ordered their onion rings, fries, vegan ramen, and curry plate. The ramen was okay. The noodles were overcooked and mushy. The taste was okay. The items that were fried was decent. Now the curry we ate was weird. It tasted sour. We've eatin many different types of curry; Singaporean, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. We have never had that odd taste before with curry. Generally turmeric shouldn't be that way. We're our server know and ask about it (because it may have been spoiled). They didn't give an answer as to why it tasted sour until we asked again. And their answer was "maybe it was t to our liking." It was a strange taste... I don't know if that was their own rendition or used fish sauce or lemon grass or lime but it didn't fit right so we couldn't eat it. I still honestly don't know if the pot of curry was spoiled that we ate. The server (Sarah) did try to correct the issue by offering to replace the meal, and she also offered a small discount. We didn't see much that was suitable for us so we declined the offer. We left the spot and that was the end of that. The place was completely empty. No one was dining in. Now I know why and after reading all the other reviews regarding quality and taste.

It's typically a busier mall, so I expected a wait, but we got seated pretty quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but we opted for inside. The service was relatively quick and smooth. The staff was pretty attentive and moved quickly. The food was good, I have eaten it before. It looks small in terms of portion size but was pretty decently filling. We got a combo that came with an appetizer (we opted for the broccolini (not pictured because we devoured it pretty quickly). It comes with sesame sauce and is charred pretty well. Really enjoyed that. Main course wise, we got the Shoyu Ramen with Pork and Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl, both which were super yummy. We also got a pint of beer and green tea for drinks, and it was good altogether. I'd say this is a pretty casual spot so no need to dress up. Seating can be a bit tight and it can get sunny due to the open windows without shades, but otherwise, pretty lax and chill spot for lunch or dinner.

I put my number in to get notifications and it didn't work, completely pointless.

This time, it was me, and I realized I'd not written a review before, even though I've enjoyed their ramen many times. Today it was #1Tonkutsu for us, a fam fave. The pork is so tender and satisfyingly unctuous. It definitely has the MmMmmMmm factor! The bamboo shoots, perfectly cooked for richness egg, the pickled ginger, and other toppings offer the fresh variety of flavors and textures that add to the whole delectable ramen experience. The noodles are perfectly cooked for ultimate slurpiness. They have the Goldilocks effect: never mushy, never underdone - they're just right. Now the broth. It's a make or break for a ramen shop. Their ramen is rich, depthy, umami loving goodness. I can - and have - drink it from the container all by itself, where each mouthful is worth savoring, allowing it to take center stage. For my pick-up, the service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant had not been open long, but call orders were steady, folks coming in for their pick ups, , and a few diners were lunching in. Clearly we're not the only ones who love it! For a to-go order, I appreciate how well their containers seal. I also appreciate how they package their ramen ready to go - just pour the broth and slurp away!

For starters the shop is a bit small with an ambiance of a mom and pop restaurant. Not much going on just as simple as it gets for these kind of shops. The service was a hit on the slower side. We sat for a bit before we got any attention from the servers, but as soon as you order the food comes out almost immediately so i would say they made up for it in that way. One of the things that was rare for a dumpling shop was the sauce bar. I have only seen these at hot pot restaurants, but it was pretty neat to be able to have everything available to make your own dumplings sauce. All it was missing was the chopped ginger and it would've been a 10/10 on the sauce bar alone! Idk if they make their own chili oil but i felt it may have needed to have a bit more heat. We ordered several dumpling dishes as well as the fried rice and the cucumber salad. The salad was on point! Ill take a smashed cucumber salad over a sliced one any day! I was a bit disappointed with the XLB because they were lacking the "soup" part of the soup dumpling.(completely dry) aside from that the rest of the dumplings were a generous 8.5/10. The fried rice was about the least of my favorite meals. It was lacking the WOK char on the day old rice necessary for egg fried rice. It felt more like it was an "all ingredients tossed into a rice cooker and mixed up with soy sauce" type of deal. Maybe im wrong but the rice was too fresh and mushy to be proper egg fried rice. All in all this place held up nicely. I personally give the experience a 7.5/10 altogether. Decent restaurant to consider if you are craving dumplings but not craving the traffic and long ride to the 626 area.

However, this was the experience. Came in at 9pm. Sat down pretty quickly. Ordered a Philly roll, albacore tuna roll and yellowtail roll. Albacore was the equivalent of canned tuna mixed with some sriracha mayo. Yellowtail had a pungent fishiness to it; most certainly not fresh. Philly roll was the best out of the three, but was loaded with cream cheese. For $6 a roll, I wasn't expecting high quality. But I also wasn't expecting THIS quality either. Grocery store sushi is better. We were ready to order a second dish of edamame, yakitori and a beer. It took 20 minutes for someone to even stop at our table and we continually tried to wave someone down. We eventually placed our second order and also asked for more wasabi. We received our food, but no beer or wasabi. As we bit into the yakitori, it was cold. Like it had been sitting out for a half an hour longer or more. We tell the nice waitress (the only one who was attentive the entire time) it was cold. She brings back the chicken and I notice a skewer is smaller than the rest.. they literally clean cut the piece I bit into and reheated it lol. Our waitress was very nice, but it seemed like she was literally doing all of the work while other wait staff were kind of in lala land. I may try out the regular menu the next time I need some convenient sushi, however I'm not in a hurry to do so. Will update if and when that happens.
