We were craving sushi for the longest time and came across this spot on Yelp. We ordered a bunch of rolls and some noodles. The California Roll, Red Dragon Roll, and others were in our radar. They were all tasty and made perfectly. I even ordered some chicken katsu for my lunch the next day. Just found out they are temporarily closed. Due to this, I would like to contribute the terrible experience I had here. Came here for lunch with my family and ordered chicken teriyaki and rice. Once food came out, chicken looked oddly white and came with the side of teriyaki sauce. Was very suspicious of it but still ate it. That was a dumb decision. The following day, had the worst stomach pain ever. Felt like I was dying. Tried using the toilet multiple times, nothing came out. The day after, pain got so bad I couldn't even sit up. I was throwing up like crazy and had a bad migraine. I lost my appetite for a week and probably lost about 12 pounds because of it. That was the only good thing that I got out of the chicken teriyaki. If they ever do reopen, do not go here. Waste of time and money, sushi is also mid according to my family. read more

I'm not a sushi eater, so consider that bias when reading this. The non-sushi items I've had here (Teriyaki chicken, ramen) were just okay. They do come with a couple of gyoza and a decent salad, though. My husband loves the sushi and poke here, and the atmosphere in there is worth mentioning because there's something so nice about it! An annoying thing on the app, where we ordered to go at one point, is that the app (DoorDash, I think) didn't allow to add protein to the ramen. I ended up with a bowl of noodles and corn. I miss this place. We used to live in Rancho Cucamonga and frequented this place whenever we'd have a craving. In one of their anniversaries, they even gave us a Sushi 909 coffee mug give away. My wife was in the area and got me my favorite fix - Chirashi Sushi. I've forgotten how good this place was. I even got a miso soup and salad with it - pleasant surprise. We got two dragon rolls and now I'm convinced that we have to start going back to this place. The tempura udon was like comfort food - soup was delicious and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The tempura was perfect - we put it in the toaster a bit to crunch them up since we didn't get to eat till about an hour after. The packaging was complete and neatly arranged. Place only had one other customer on a Saturday night at 8pm. Right when we walk in the hostess who look look professional, handed off menus to some guy in street clothes who was prop up against the door, or should I say the door was proping him up. Then he immediately handed them to us before we were seated and he turned out to be the sushi chef! Then the guy who doesn't even look like he works their makes us some overpriced gas station sushi. Found my new sushi spot in Ontario or Rancho. I come from LA and one of the things that I look for is a sushi chef who is over the age of 35. I learned that it takes at least 12 years to become a true sushi chef. I also like the set up with the sushi bar and I can tell that, this is an authentic place. I ordered two different tempura sushi rolls and I loved them. I will definitely be trying all my favorites plus the chef specials whenever I can. I ordered food to go but I do love the interior decor and ambience. One thing I don't miss about LA is how crowded restaurants are since 90% of people don't cook. I was able to get my food in less than 20 minutes. One of the rolls was so huge that it was hard to eat, so they definitely don't skimp on the serving size. I think I'm gonna make this a weekly stop. I was visiting my family in the area and told my sister I was craving for boba and sushi. So she chose this place. I looked it up and she showed me the menu on her phone and wow, the choices this place had!!!! It was so much and I couldn't narrow it down. But I had to make a decision and pick 2 even though I could easily have picked 5 or 6, probably even more rolls. She ordered over the phone and it was a bit difficulty. Whomever answered I guess was new because she said she never has problems over the phone. But this guy was so obsessed with getting her name for the order right, I almost wanted to say, just let it go, does it really matter that much!!!??? It almost took more time to get her name than to take our actual order! Anyways, my sister ordered some stuff for the family, I ordered the Tiger Roll and Crunch Scallop Roll. Parking lot was pretty packed since it shared a lot with other stores and restaurants, so my brother-in-law got out of the car to get the food. Everything was correct and I couldn't wait to eat it. I was so happy with what I ordered, I've never been to a sushi place where the scallops were actually fried and put on top and scattered around. The pieces were huge too and they gave a good amount. I would definitely get this again. The Tiger roll was so good too, shrimp tempura and crab on the inside, shrimp and avocado on top!!!! Yum!!!! Sad to know the old chef is no longer working there :( we ordered the baked albacore roll, shrimp tempura roll, and some albacore and shrimp sushi. I forgot the name of the last roll but it was baked and had crawfish. The rolls were amazing like I remember. Sushi Area 909 is my favorite sushi place. Of all time. I've had sushi all over California (LA, SF, San Diego) and in some places out of state. I've tried Nobu too (which personally, I wasn't very impressed with). I stay loyal to the 909, period. I've been eating here since I was a kid (they've had a few name changes, can't remember the former ones). So it's been about 10+ years probably. Sushi chefs Mr. Moon & Pedro are amazing!! They always accommodate my requests perfectly, they're the best. I always get the same thing when I come here (lol) but I've tried different rolls, the soft shell crab, and seaweed salad and they're all good. I recommend the 909 to everyone and anyone I know! My favorite thing about the 909 is their sushi combinations. I feel like other places overdo it with every single roll and the 909 has a perfect mix of choices, from simple to more elaborate. My favorite rolls are the Red Dragon, Salmon Roll (I get masago on the side though), Spider Roll, and eel and avocado roll (no cucumber). I love the salmon sashimi!!!! Walking by this restaurant had black out doors with sushi photos. We decided just to look at the menu and decide to try it. We sat down at the sushi bar and was greeted by sushi chef frank and the hostess. We asked if it was all you can eat and they said no but they did mention they had happy hour. They had a nice table set up with everything you could need. i.e chopsticks, napkins, wet wipes, chopstick guides (little plastic holders), soy sauce, siracha, etc. The food was subpar. I ordered the spicy garlic edamame ($8.99), a few rolls ($12.99 & $6.99), miso soup ($1.50) and tempura (9.99?) Vegan Friendly options btw The edamame lacked garlic, was mostly chili oil. The rolls were soggy as well as coming undone before picking them up from the plates. To my surprise, the ginger they served was also dry. I wasn't impressed with the food & thought it to be overpriced for what I received. The server was friendly, but the service itself was slow and bare minimum.
