This sushi spot is good. I have been going here for about 2 years, but recently it changed owners so I was a bit hesitant to go. However, i went, tried and did not regret. The fish was very fresh, the rolls tasted good. One of the rolls, superman burrito, was something we used to order with the previous owners and we loved it. They still have that roll and it is still good, but pretty different from how it was made before. Everything tastes good just a bit different, since there is a new chef. ... I wish I could give this place a better review but I can't. The sushi is decent, I recommend the Diana roll. Why am I giving such a low rating when I like some of the sushi? The washrooms are kinda gross, you can't flush toilet paper so there is a trash can full of used toilet paper. I could get past that for great sushi. What is a deal breaker for me is the horrendous service. The first time I went, I just thought the servers must have been having a bad day. Hey, everyone has one from time to time. Nope, the servers were rude again the next time. I ordered the Diana role again, the server brought me something other than what I ordered instead of simply returning it she argued with me and said I did not order a Diana role but this tuna roll. The third and final visit, I thought I'd just get a Diana roll to go and avoid the bad service. It was twenty minute before their lunch closing. A new server just as ornery, told me that they were closed. The sushi chefs were still at the counter, the open sign was up and their was two patrons still eating. New Owners... Just got some food to go... sashimi and rolls, etc.... Quality was very good. Fresh and generous cuts of fish too. The new owner is very friendly, along with his staff. I love Sushi Dake so much. Their Dake roll deserves a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame. Sincerely. Their take-out service is rapido, but it's pretty pleasant to sit it out and wait for your food too. Everyone here has commented on the strip mall. Seriously, we almost didn't go inside on our first visit because we were MIRED by other not-so-fantastic strip mall eateries. This place is the happy exception. There aren't that many reasons to visit Burbank. This is in the top five. read more

The sushi is great except for the Sexy Roll; it's amazing!!! If you live in the area this should be your sushi joint! I'd give it 5 stars if the lunch specials were a little cheaper. OVERPRICED for the portion and the quality of food you get!! I came by once because it was across from work. Despite the warning my coworker gave me, I wanted to give it a try. When I walked in, I noticed that ppl working there were Koreans (its a sign that the food would be not-so-authentic). When I looked at the menu, everything was overpriced. I ended up ordering a combination plate of 2 items, beef terriyaki and sashimi. The food was not bad...but not great either. It came with miso soup, which was watery, and not-so-fresh salad. Occasionally I would go here with a friend and enjoy the service. I always order my fav - the salmon sushi and so far have not been disappointed. My friend got me to venture outside my salmon order and now I'm into the albacore. At times I would order the odon soup with shrimp/vegetable tempura - yummy especially on cold days. The only downside I have is we tend to go overboard and end up with a somewhat larger bill then expected in comparison to other sushi places I've been to. I had been excited to try this place for some time now because it'd been recommended to me at work. Maybe I had my expectations set too high? The first thing that made me hesitant besides the sushi prices being a couple dollars more than my regular spots was that they had their eel already cooked off? I have never until now been to a place where the eel is not cooked to order. Instead of following my gut and walking out my roommate and I stayed and ordered their not so fresh fish. Not happy with the quality of the fish for the price and their wasabi was on the brown side. Don't think I will be back there unfortunately. Service was good but not enough to make me wish to return, just adds an extra star. The feeling I am left with after a $60 meal that lacked to say the least... Disappointment. read more

Cute/homey atmosphere, fast and attentive service, and good quality sushi. We came here on a Friday at 7 pm and were quickly seated and served. A great alternative to more popular sushi restaurants in downtown Burbank, which get crowded on the weekends. Especially loved that they give you free edamame when you arrive and watermelon slices and hot towels at the end of your meal. We will definitely be back! read more

I'd give it 2.5 to be nice... The Spider Roll is good but how can it not be? The rolls are okay but the Seaweed Salad was $6 but the size of a wasabi clump. So.. it's not bad but not generous or anything. And the service is not good! We were 3 and got 2 menus. We were 3 and got 2 wasabi and ginger plates. We were 3 and had 3 rolls and 1 small salad and paid about $16 each. So or that we could have had something better plus a soda. Don't avoid this place but don't make it a point to go. read more

I was craving sushi and figured I would try it out. Although they were fairly pleasant they were not overly attentive. I ordered albacore sushi, spicy tuna roll and a seaweed salad. A hidden gem! We were frequent patrons of Nippon on Riverside, but when it closed and reopened as Kobosu, we weren't so impressed and thought we'd never find a cozy sushi bar with welcoming proprietors until we went to Sushi Dake last night. The sushi was fresh and the lobster tempura roll was so good. Tony and his crew of sushi chefs were awesome and took great pride in their craft. The servers were warm and welcoming, too! Got sick here, the food used to be better, I had been there about 6 times before I got sick about a month ago, I had a spicy tuna salad, yellow tail and some albacore. Some of the fish wasn't fresh, I think the spicy tuna was bad, it didn't taste right and I almost ended up at the ER with stomach pain for about 3 days. Nice place to eat sushi, not huge place if they are busy you will not find place to sit most likely. Their price is average. I like the chef how fast and good he is preparing sushi, rolls and sashimi. I think everything else is similar to any average sushi place. read more

Lunch: Eel Sushi, Yellowtail Collar (daily special), random rolls. I looove this place. The pocket size dining room reminds me of back alley izakayas of rural Japan. The eel sushi is verrrry fresh. The yellowtail collar was ridiculously tender and almost buttery. The roll (whose name escapes me) was good too, without a lot of saucy goop. I guess the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is a bit pricier than I usually pay for this kind of fare. But I will come again and I am happy to pay a bit more for such great food. read more
