I will say they stepped their game up slightly. A friend called in my order while I was running an emergency errand. I was told that it would be a 45 minute wait. I had another friend whose son worked there briefly and had mentioned that the waiters seem to be underpaid, and although they run a tight ship, they always felt like they were understaffed. I was called to come pick up my order and this time everything was right I had the garlic sauce and the dynamite sauce in a separate bag along with each roll in an individual container, which was perfect as a first time I expected the hot Chito roll to be spicy however you're tasting the experience of hot Cheetos on a roll will not be purchasing that again however, I am a fan of spice so next time for the other roles, I plan on ordering extra spice. Lastly, be sure to sign up for their point system every purchase you can utilize your points.

Wonderful air conditioning as soon as you walk in. Variety of rolls with helpful photos that actually look like to food served. Today we're trying a "special menu?" First time seeing this even though we're here all the time. Everything is bomb. Huge variety. Bento boxes are big. We always come here for the kids meal. They leave full and get a variety of food. Service is always on point from greet to finish. The owner is always up with the trends and adding to menu. Wonderful vibe for any occasion. Cozy booths. Been coming for years and it's always a pleasure.

Food is amazingly delicious. Love the spot, reasonable pricing and service is good. Will definitely come back! My favorite is the Otoro sashimi with truffle. It melts in your mouth.

Another fabulous meal with great service at Sushi Delight! Using the waitlist system our table was immediately available upon arrival. We were warmly treated by Jerry himself and seated in a comfortable booth (requested). I decided to try a new roll I saw on their IG page, The Sakura Roll - since I don't eat spicy tuna they were able to swap salmon for me - I told Jerry this is my new favorite roll!

My girlfriend and I frequent sushi delight. The sushi quality is amazing, however, I recently discovered I have a fish allergy so this spot is great for me because they have so many other options! I typically get the chicken teriyaki bowl and house salad. When I tell you they LOAD the chicken up, you will be shocked by the amount of chicken. They don't play! I always have leftovers which is great because the teriyaki flavor is delightful and the chicken is always cooked very well (no weird scary pieces either). The house salad dressing is my absolute favorite. I usually ask for an extra side of the dressing because it's THAT good. Pro tip: check in online via Yelp because the wait time can be up to 2 hours!

First time here yesterday. We joined the waitlist via the Yelp app because we heard from one of our friends that the place gets packed after 4pm. The place is small but they're able to turn tables fast. Food was good, nothing outstanding. We ordered 3 rolls of sushi, calamari tempura and 2 glasses of water and paid around $70 + tip. Not sure I'd make an effort to drive here again because there are many other sushi places in the area.

    Aguachile oysters

I've officially decided that every time I come here, I'm trying a new roll a different starter... I usually get the chicken teriyaki salad and spicy edamame.... This time we got the Lexus Roll, Mercedes Roll, salmon and yellowtail sashimi , aguachile oysters, another roll from the specials menu (I think it was called the El Japo ), and of course... the Dynamite Scallops Roll. Everything was really good, and the yellowtail was definitely my favorite! It's always a great experience here. The service is great, the vibe is super chill, and it's a nice spot to grab dinner and catch a game. Just a heads-up--it's usually pretty busy, so don't expect to hang around too long after you eat. Definitely still one of my favorite sushi spots! Also... a few dishes didn't make it to the camera roll because they were devoured as soon as they hit the table.

We had a wonderful time celebrating a family member's birthday at Sushi Delight! The ambiance was incredibly lively, and the staff provided on-point service, even surprising our table with complimentary salmon nigiri and free ice cream. Every dish was a hit, especially the delicious and fairly priced rolls, the incredibly fresh regular oysters for $3 (or $3.50 with a fantastic chili sauce), and the premium sashimi, which sits around the average $25 range and tasted so clean that even those sensitive to "fishiness" would love it. My absolute favorites of the night were the melt-in-your-mouth tuna belly and the sweet Hokkaido scallop. Between the top-tier food quality and the generous hospitality, it was a highly memorable dining experience.

Customer service -10 Food -10 Cleanliness-10 Atmosphere -10 We went on a Thursday at about 1700, and were seated immediately. Our server, AJ, was/ is the bomb. He took care of all our requests and then some including recommending freshly grated wasabi ( xtra) which was, as he noted, a game changer. All the food we had was fresh, ample in portion, and as flavorful as it gets. Beer- ice cold!!! The blue fin toro w yuzu and truffle oil was insanely good and highly recommended. All the nigiri was extremely fresh and bright in flavor. That wasabi.... Wow. All the flavor, minimal heat. But the real star was our server AJ. He made our experience top notch and will keep us returning. Thanks AJ. See ya soon. Everyone else , come here EAT SUSHI!!!

The cut roll was really good and was not similar to anything else I've had before in terms of sushi. Lots of unique rolls here and they all see to be great! 4/5 The nigiri however was just okay. Total was around $40 and I was full, but I feel other places are better. I am more of a nigiri based sushi person however. If you like cut rolls though definitely check this place out if you're in the area as you may appreciate it more than me! Service was great, always asking if we needed anything. They had a couple tvs playing Laker game.

Obsessed. My favorite restaurant. We've been going here for years. We always try to order something new and we're never disappointed. Our favorite rolls are 2020, slow your roll, lemon drop, chipotle tuna, and el japo. Fish is fresh and rolls are flavorful. Also love the new japo taco! Staff are always attentive and friendly. Can't recommend Sushi delight enough!

As my dad would say, let's get some "soochi" ! This is my second time coming to this spot, I tried some new rolls I haven't before and here's how it went. I was craving something with jalapeño slices on it.. I think there was 2 rolls that had it. I ended up ordering the Cajun roll. Now... I didn't read the description of this roll at all. I saw a picture, saw a jalapeño and said yes that one! Oh boy. This is why we read fellas. I didn't realize it was with Cajun seasoning!! I was so confused about what I was eating. The combination is not for the faint of heart. I still ate it but I was not a fan at all of the Cajun roll. It tasted like what I imagine a seafood boil tastes like. But it doesn't take away from the fact she was fresh and quality made~ just the flavor threw me off bad. The dragon roll, a classic, a sushi beginners friend. I loved her she was tasty, and beautiful. Definitely a reorder for sure. The crunch roll, another classic. This one was also a good roll with quality ingredients. Everything was made well, packed with flavor and quality. Sushi quality is super duperrrr important and I'm happy I can rely on sushi delight for providing such quality rolls. Service was good! We had a switch in servers midway but they both were kind to us. I was basically a sushi roll by the time I left.. I needed to be rolled out. Ample parking in the plaza, the place is small so you might have to wait on busier nights ! It is cute, feeling more intimate by how it is dark inside.

I've always been in search of the best sushi in the South Bay, I'm not sure why I never tried this place but I'm glad I did. We did our annual girls night out at sushi delight, and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was fresh and made to order, the sushi was probably the best I've ever had, and as busy as it was on a Monday night, service was excellent. Will definitely be back.

If you are not a selective eater, I highly recommend trying every skewer they have! My friend and I ordered the pork belly, chicken meatball, quail egg, chicken thigh with green onion, fried tofu, zucchini, fried onigiri (grilled rice ball), and the potato (with butter). There were also specials off menu - we tried the chicken sasami which was incredibly tender. All the skewers were seasoned so well and the charcoal made a huge difference in the experience. We did pair our proteins with the onigiri and potato which filled us up. There were condiments to complement the skewers - Japanese spice powder, yuzu kosho, vinegar, and soy sauce. I pretty much had the yuzu kosho with everything. I'm not sure if there was something wrong with their AC, but it was quite hot in there! Nonetheless, it retained its traditional izakaya décor with its counter seating alongside some regular tables. The staff were all new but still very courteous and brought the menu and water right away. New items were added but the core dishes remained the same. For this visit, we ordered our regular items and they arrived in 10 minutes: Eboshi Mini Trio with Shio Ramen, Fried Rice and Gyoza: The fried rice was still top notch, with slightly firm texture, not too oily, and pleasantly seasoned. The Shio Ramen with its clear broth was nicely savory. The thin noodles were cooked perfectly, and the chashu pieces were tender. To complement the set, the gyozas with their delicate wraps had nicely burnt bottoms, and flavorful fillings. Champon Ramen: A complex ramen with an assortment of meat, veggies and seafood. There were sliced pork pieces, shrimps, squids, cabbage, onions, snow peas and many more. The clear broth was quite savory and enriched by oil from sauteed ingredients. The noodles had a very nice texture and were a tad al dente. We were amazed that after all these years, the restaurant retained its original taste and flavor. I'm not much of an alcohol drinker, however notice they had a nice bar, with hooks for the ladies to store their purse while there. Overall, a nice place to enjoy a tasty meal!

The dining room is relatively small, with roughly 10 to 15 tables, and the two employees working the floor were hustling all evening and did a genuinely nice job taking care of everyone. The food itself was solid. The standout dish of the night was actually the grilled asparagus, which came with a soy-based preparation that was absolutely outstanding, perfectly tender and cooked just right. The wedge salad was also very good, and both the 16oz ribeye@$86, and the 8oz filet mignon @$76 were well prepared and enjoyable. Where things became more complicated for me was the overall value proposition. The prices are undeniably steep, especially for Lomita. Whenever I dine somewhere upscale, I inevitably ask myself whether, for the same money, I would have rather gone somewhere else. In this case, the answer was yes. I was also a bit disappointed to discover that there is no full bar. The restaurant seems to steer guests toward wine and sake, with only a handful of beer options available. Unfortunately, the first two beers I ordered, an IPA and then a Modelo, both on the menu, both out of stock, which certainly didn't help my overall impression. The dining room itself felt somewhat drab, all black walls, and lacked the refinement that I would expect at this price point. Dark walls and a crystal chandelier create an interesting contrast, but small details stood out for the wrong reasons. For example, I noticed exposed holes in the bar where a purse hook or latch had apparently been relocated. It may seem minor, but details like that matter when you're charging premium prices. At the end of the night, my wife and I walked out more than $300 lighter. While the food was undeniably good and the service was attentive, the experience simply didn't feel like a $300 evening to us. Overall, The Food Library delivers quality food and hardworking service, but for the price, I left wishing the atmosphere and overall experience matched the bill a bit more closely.

The sushi rolls, cucumber salad were great. The regular dinner salad was ok. Ramen and other dishes were good. They have privacy curtains in each booth which adds a nice touch. The overall experience is good but i would have like the wow factor to extend towards the cuisine.

We walked in right on time for our reservation (because we're adults who respect the space-time continuum) and were ushered into a booth with "privatey" curtains. I'm not saying they'd hide you from the FBI, but they certainly provided enough cover for us to giggle and navigate stupidly through the menu. You can also order directly to a friendly human too. The atmosphere is colorful, lively, unstuffy, and private enough to enjoy good convo but not awko quiet. You order everything via an iPad, which is dangerous because when pictures of gyoza are staring you in the face, your impulse control vanishes. We ordered "a little bit of everything," which is code for "the table was structurally compromised by the weight of our dinner." * The Highlights: The pickled cucumbers (crisp enough to hear in the next county), the pork bowl, and sushi that actually tasted like it came from the ocean. The Fluids: Cold Asahi and Lemon Chu-His. Highly recommended if you enjoy being happy. The Verdict This spot is a unicorn--it works for kids, first dates, or "290th dates" where you both just want to stare at an iPad and eat kimchi in a tent. The Heartbreak They have a "10-Second Hit It" game at the front door where you can win a free meal. We were this close. We didn't win, but we're definitely going back to seek revenge.
