As most of the reviews pointed out this is a solid Japanese restaurant. The items were not complicated, but the ingredients were fresh and everything was well made. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the seafood and the authenticity of the ingredients. It's a small space with simple decor and friendly service.

Went for the 2nd time and didn't disappoint. My boy loves sushi and having this joint down the streets going to make it easier.

The phrase "hidden gem" has been way overused....and I'm gonna use it again. Sushi Dragon is a hidden gem. I have driven by literally hundreds of times and never even saw the restaurant, despite having been told about their excellent sushi many times by Elite Yelper Gary I. It's tucked away in a strip mall (huge parkng lot in back btw) with no flashing lights or big signs out in front. It's easy to miss; but once you've dined here, it's unforgettable. The three of us sat at the sushi bar. If you're a regular, they will apparantly store your favorite sake in a special locker. Gary I kindly shared his delicous sake with us, as well as some delicous dishes Chef whipped up using ingredients brought in by Gary himself (clam sushi and anglerfish liver). I then went with omakase and loved every morsel of some incredibly fresh sushi. Chef clearly has devoted fans. Other patrons had driven from the South Bay area for his sushi and lots of regulars stopped by. I can see why; I'll be back for sure.

Food is incredible, never fails to hit the spot. We come here way too often lol and for any big occasion! Tommy is the best sushi chef, Beto making all the hot stuff in the back is on fire and the service is 5 stars. The vibe is chill and perfect for night out with friends family or solo.

The sushi here is always amazing. My adult sons brought me here for my birthday. And as usual, we had a super great time. The sushi chef/owner is a very nice guy. His name is Tommy-San. He always greats us with a big smile and is ready to have a friendly conversation. That night we had Omakase sushi, which means that it is the chef's choice on what he serves us. Everything Tommy-San made was amazing! Eventually Tommy-San joined us at our table to celebrate my birthday. He made us oyster shooters to toast my bday. Then in honor of my bday, Tommy-San brought out a special Japanese beer that is not on the menu and I had never seen before. We all toasted and shared the beer. Go visit Tommy-San. You'll be glad you did.

All the other reviews were right when they said this place was a hidden gem. They give generous portions and have friendly service. Sushi was fresh and tempura was grease free. This place quiet and cozy during lunch time. Only downside is they have limited lot parking but there is street parking nearby!

    Do they have Omakase here?

We thought, why not? We were sat immediately and decided to browse their happy hour menu. Buy one get one for $1 on beers and a nice selection of appetizers and rolls with reduced pricing. We ordered a lot - garlic edamame, agedashi chicken, their cucumber (sunomono) salad, a red dragon roll, a spicy tuna roll, a salmon roll, and their yellowtail roll. Everything was delicious. The cucumber salad was so lovely and refreshing that we went ahead and ordered a second serving. The edamame was seasoned nicely, the chicken was juicy and fried perfectly, and all the rolls were awesome. You'd think after all that food we'd be all done... but no. Ordered one more salmon and red dragon roll. So, two beers, 6 rolls, 4 appetizers and the bill still came up under $100. Needless to say, we'll be back. Service was friendly. The bathrooms were clean. Great experience.

They have a New manager and she is HORRIBLE! I went to use the restroom after a little sushi and sake, close to finishing up and when I came out my place was cleaned up and they cleared away everything, I thought with a little sake buzz maybe I paid and left. Any experience manager and Good Restaurant would check to see if you paid before removing everything??? They removed food that wasn't eaten and a whole Beer that wasn't touched? When I went back a few days later a server and manager who was real rude said I left without paying., I couldn't remember and said no I always pay? I eat, paid and left and when I got home I looked at my Credit Card Statement and felt bad because I didn't pay? I printed it out and brought it with me back with the intention to admit I was wrong and was going pay, EVERYONE IN THE RESTAURANT LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS A CRIMINAL AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T SERVE ME, BECAUSE THE HORRIBLE MANAGER 86ed ME??? I Couldn't believe it I showed them the statement and tried to tell them I was going to take care of it. Long story short SHE and what a HORRIBLE MANAGER WOULDN'T EVEN COME OUT HERSELF, What a cowardly move and had the server talk to me. Wow after YEARS and the $THOUSANDS I SPEND THERE the DISRESPECT was UNBELIEVABLE. It's OK because I go to KABUKI MORE anyway and I like everything More, So I'm good it's just HOW DOES SOMEONE LIKE HER GET A JOB IN MANAGEMENT .. Cool & chill, but not completely "lazy bum" vibes. Like, don't come in wearing your pajamas. You could, but why would you do that? I appreciate the darker ambience lit up by the rather groovy neon + purple & dark blue lights. A great, chill date spot, or a relaxed restaurant for sushi aficionados. The fish is incredibly fresh. I especially like that they have a number of selections that I have never seen at other similar style upper-class sushi restaurants. An unexpected pleasant bonus is that a beer is included for only $1 when you order a bottle of Soju. Do yourself a favor: make sure to get rolls that include a variety of fish. Don't get similar rolls with the same protein. Snow Crab Cut Roll - 9.0 / 10 Baked real snow crab = inside Wrapped with soybean paper, house special bake sauce. You have to give major props when a sushi restaurant includes a roll with *real* snow crab legs. None of that fake crab stick / surimi. I wish more places could include real snow crab. The soybean paper is always a nice alternative to the more traditional seaweed wrapper. Forbidden Roll - 8.9 / 10 Shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber = Inside Topped with fresh salmon, crunch flakes, crab meat, eel sauce, & spicy mayo. If you were only going to get 1 sushi roll, it should be this one. It has the most variety of proteins in 1, single roll. It's not chaotic where the flavors & textures don't make sense. It works & I would gladly get this roll again. Salmon Spicy Scallop - 7.5 / 10 Spicy Scallop = inside Topped with fresh salmon. If you like scallops & salmon, this is a solid choice. Fresh Heaven - 5.7 / 10 3 Assorted fresh fish, crab meat, gobo, radish, + avocado = inside. Wrapped w/ cucumber, oriental goma sauce. The most aesthetically beautiful dish that we ordered, especially with the cucumber garnish + lovely flower. It's nice to know that cucumber can be used to wrap sushi. But it throws off the texture. Maybe it I was on a stricter diet, I may opt for a cucumber-wrapped roll. The fish was incredibly fish. Huge shout-out to Sydney P. + Charles for their warm + personable hospitality. I would happily come back because of Fujiya's unique sushi rolls, but the staff's personality is such a winner. They're truly welcoming & take great pride + pleasure in what they do. I don't blame them. Fujiya is a cool, hip, & swanky (in the best possible way) Izakaya, but it's also not pretentious. The staff here want you to have a lovely dining experience with some innovative takes on some classic sushi rolls.

I hope that sets the stage for the weight of the words I am about to say to you So yeah.. sincerely was not expecting much walking into Shiso Sushi. In fact, from the outside, this place honestly looks kinda closed down? Scratched, tinted windows, maybe some graffiti, barely any sign of life except for a faint "OPEN" sign doing its best. I swear I *almost* turned around and went home. Inside doesn't change that first impression tbh. No presentation to the menu design, dated decor, very old school neighborhood sushi joint energy. Then the food hits The fish quality is legit. Clean, fresh, and clearly coming from a strong supplier. The preparation is thoughtful and balanced. This is the kind of place where the food completely outperforms the room. (Only real knock: the rice. It's a bit dense / tightly packed. Missing that airy, delicate texture you'd expect from top tier sushi in Japan) Service was attentive and warm throughout. Honestly, this place is a hidden gem trapped in the wrong wrapper.
