    2. Dragon Roll

We only got one picture (the dragon roll) because we were so into the food, but everything was great. It's a nice cozy relaxed place. The sushi was yummy (California roll, Dragon roll, Amazing grace roll, and Blondie roll) and the hospitality was so pleasant. The lady was very kind and helpful. My bf and I really enjoyed the experience there. 10/10.

When the food is good, it is gone fast:)

Tony and Sue are AMAZING! Right from the start we were greeted with an excited smile. They seated us in a booth right next to the sushi station and we watched our food get made right in front of us. It's very family friendly and the space is very calm. My girlfriend and I LOVE this place and can't wait to come again. Thank you Sue and Tony!

I had some extra time today and thought I would stop by for some lunch, and I'm so glad I did! The owners are so incredibly sweet and even offered me one of their favorites to try. They made me a beautiful 49ers roll. I'll be back, thank you!

One drawback is their seaweed salad. It isn't worth one bite. They used to have it perfect, but not the last few years. Now, it's super dry, hard to chew and not properly seasoned (missing seasoning). Quite disappointing, bc that was always something extra I got. Safeway down the street has it better, which says it all!

Came here on a whim as my previous lunch plan fell apart…read more I was greeted and seated immediately. I only wanted something light so I ordered the avocado roll and cucumber roll. A very short wait and my order arrived, nicely presented. The rolls tasted fresh and were nicely constructed. I know veggie rolls are not a thorough reflection of a Japanese restaurant but sometimes places get these simple things wrong. The only thing I didn't prefer was that the rice vinegar taste leaned a little more sweet than I prefer. Despite that I had no problem with the meal. But next time I'll order something different. Service was excellent and very prompt. Prices were reasonable. $15 total for my two rolls. The ambiance is no frills/casual and I was fine with that. You can dine inside or outside. Dog friendly on the outside patio! I sat inside as it was pretty warm outside. Since they're on the main strip in downtown LG, you'll need to park on the street or elsewhere nearby as they don't have their own parking lot. If presented with the opportunity I would come back to try some other dishes.

We grabbed the menus ourselves from a nearby table. We originally wanted to try their AYCE, but since the whole table had to participate, and one of us wasn't that hungry, we decided to order a la carte. We're glad we did. The 3 of us were already stuffed after sharing an appetizer and 4 signature rolls. The sweet potato tempura came out piping hot; the batter wasn't too thick. While the dipping sauce lacked flavor, the dish was still ok, and not too oily. We're impressed by the number of signature rolls they offered, and tried to pick something we hadn't seen at other sushi restaurants. My favorite was the lobster tail tempura that came with the Boujee rolls. It was tasty with a light batter. The plating was beautiful. The torched salmon, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna were good as well, but I didn't really see any real crab inside. The Skittles roll was pretty delicious, too. I liked that it had unagi, crab, tobiko, and avocado among other things. The Umami roll also had unagi and carb, but the salmon skin and bonito flakes were what made the roll special. My daughter didn't care for the salmon skin, though. The Black Mamba was interesting if you liked softshell crab. I didn't care for the macadamia nuts, though. Portion size was huge. However, their rolls weren't rolled very tightly nor cut evenly, and their rice was on the sweeter side as other Yelpers had mentioned. Since most of the rolls had similar sauces, they kind of tasted very similar, despite the different ingredients. I wouldn't mind coming back again to try other items on their menu when I'm in the area.

Even…read morethough these establishments were our go-to with buddies back in the day, one can only endure so much rice nowadays. To each their own, though--getting old, hehe! Food: B For the AYCE Premium experience, they offer an extensive list of options to choose from. Adding the premium option unlocks access to the nigiri and special selection. Rolls: These were definitely solid and meet up with the standards around the Bay. So if you have an itch ya need to scratch for good ole 'Murica-style rolls, they gotchu. Special selection: You can only choose one per person. We opted for the Boujee Roll and the Sashimi Salad. The Boujee Roll--an upscale roll made with premium ingredients--was good, and the Sashimi Salad was solid. Nigiri: Left the best for last, but we were disappointed with the quality of this lineup. Knowing that it was the premium addition, the quality wasn't the best--and yes, this is factoring in that it's AYCE, but the texture and taste were still a bit off. Overall, we would come back maybe for the à la carte rolls, or if we do AYCE, we might just stick with the regular option. Vibe: B Service: B+ Friendly staff checked on us regularly during our stay and made sure our water were full. - John

Let me start off by saying: WE LOOOOOVE CARLOS!!!…read more In celebrating my daughter's 6th birthday, she made it known that dinner absolutely had to be "SHUSHI". What better place to wine and dine my little monster than Mizu??! I made reservations for 6 @ 5:15pm through OpenTable a few days prior. Upon checking in & arrival, a gentleman [whom I assume was management] asked that we be patient with service due to only having 2 servers on hand. Not sure if it was bad scheduling or if someone called out but we agree'd and hoped for the best. The Birthday Dinner Consisted Of: *Yellowtail Tartare *Dragon Roll *San Jose Roll *Rainbow Blossom Roll *Yellowtail Special Roll *House Boat Kitchen [substitute the beef bulgogi for teriyaki Salmon] *Miso Soups & House Salad *Mango Mochi Ice Cream [complimentary] Service was slow and not exactly attentive- even with the restaurant not being busy. There were a number of occasions where we just flagged staff for requests. Shout out to Carlos- this young man was always upbeat, mind, and very welcoming. He made every interesting a breeze and happily obliged with customers inquiries. REGARDLESS OF HIM NOT BEING OUR ACTUAL SERVER! Once dinner was over, Carlos stopped by to see if we wanted to order dessert. We slyly asked if there could be any singing for the birthday babe and he 100% made it happen- even if he was the only staffer to sing along with our party. 5/5 stars!!! This TY and review is specifically dedicated to Carlos. Our entire party appreciates your efforts and your high quality work ethics are undeniable. Thank you for making the birthday babe feel loved- she absolutely left the restaurant with warm, fuzzy feelings.

It has transitioned into a half-sushi, half-pop-bar concept that feels disjointed and lacks the authentic Japanese "vibe" it once had. Instead of a cozy dining atmosphere, the decor now feels like a generic bar you might find in an Asian metropolitan nightlife district--not exactly the setting I'm looking for when I want quality sushi. The Food The menu is now heavily focused on sushi rolls, but the execution is strictly average. For a place that has moved toward a specialist roll menu, I expected more punch. We also tried the Chicken Katsu, which was the biggest letdown of the night; it was incredibly dry, bland, and lacked any depth of flavor. It's definitely not their forte. Service & Value While the staff was fine, the pricing is quite steep for the quality of food and the "bar" atmosphere provided. You are paying premium prices for a mediocre culinary experience. Final Verdict Given the price point and the shift in direction, I won't be returning. There are simply too many excellent, authentic Japanese options in the surrounding area that offer better value and a more cohesive dining experience.

I had a tour to Japan last March, I traveled from Osaka to Tokyo. I was impressed that the traditional sushi section here in this restaurant compared to Japan is not different. Far from the original, they have their own special rolls which are satisfied other style of appetite. I've been telling that the Japanese never put sauce or anything other than fish in their maki. However, the non-Japanese create sauce and ingredients to make maki more favor. As more as you know about the history of Japanese sushi, the more you respect the head chef here. I am been trying a lot of Japanese sushi restaurant and find myself this place. I strongly recommended Poki salad, Toro on the rock, Sashimi Sampler and salmon belly fusion nigiri. Unfortunately, the sashimi was by far the worst I've ever been served at a restaurant. The fish appeared discolored, old, and slimy. When we asked our server what types of fish were included, we were told tori, salmon, albacore, yet the almost every piece (minus the salmon) had a brownish-gray appearance that was extremely unappetizing. I'm not sure if we happened to receive the last of their inventory for the week, but serving fish in that condition at full price ($60) is kind of crazy. Some of the sashimi looked comparable to raw pork that had been sitting out, which was honestly concerning. The sushi rolls were also disappointing. They were very average, with flavors and quality that reminded me of grocery store sushi. Nothing stood out or justified the price point. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I was especially let down because this restaurant came highly recommended by a family member who has dined here multiple times and always had positive experiences. To make matters worse, I developed stomach discomfort within about 15 minutes of leaving the restaurant. I had been looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations.
