I absolutely love coming to Sushi King! I was first introduced by my Pharmacist and have been spreading the word ever since. You can order any specialty or regular sushi roll as many times as you want a long with unlimited apps and hibachi. My favorite thing to order is the hibachi shrimp alone no rice, shrimp dumplings and the volcano roll. Great for big groups and extremely inexpensive for what they offer. Went here for a sushi craving by myself. Price is very reasonable but of course don't expect the highest quality sushi. My biggest issue is the service. First roll I ordered took 45 minutes to come out. Place is busy, but not that busy. Second roll took another 40 minutes. I've been to this location several times and have enjoyed it. Waiters are very attentive and friendly. Clean establishment. I've enjoyed the sushi every time and the salad bar. Currently the salad bar isn't available but that's due to CovId restrictions. I enjoy the sushi since it's fresh and they don't take long to bring you your food. The one thing I didn't enjoy is the entree but it's been at every location that I feel the meat isn't tender enough and chicken can be dry for the hibachi, but that might just be me. I see plenty of people order the hibachi or chicken teriyaki chicken and they love it. I like the shrimp shumai and crab ragoon as well. The rice is good. The bathroom is a hit or miss sometimes as far as cleanliness but that's more people being nasty than them although there's been time where there's no toilet paper. The sushi was a good grade sushi. You have to order from the waiter. There is also a cold appetizer bar that is all you can eat. There are a variety of items to choose from like seared tuna, crab salad, seaweed salad and you can even create your own salad with lettuce and ginger dressing. The service was okay. For those that don't know sushi King is basically a all you can eat sushi and hibachi place. Typically the waiters will come back to you table fairly prompely to ask what else you would like. Here it seems as though there waiters like to wait a prolonged period of time before coming back. I guess this is so you won't order as much. They do have a open salad bar while you wait for you food but there are not that many selections on it. So far the food I have had has been good just to taking a very long time to get the food. brought two gift cards in Dé ember for 50 dollars each. one for my daughter and one for my dad. my daughter went about 3 weeks ago with her boyfriend and they used the gift card and the server said it was only 7.00 dollars on card. which was not true! my daughter had her receipt where I paid 50.00 paid for it. my dad went tonight and the same crap happen to him. he did not have the receipt. they told him the same crap that he only had 7.00. This my first time to the Sushi King on route 60. It's located in a small shopping center with Golds Gym and Starbucks. The decor is asian modern and clean looking. Our server Michaela was on point with drinks and checking on us. We shared the Orchard, Christmas, and spicy tuna rolls. We also had steamed Shumai as an appetizer. My faves were the Orchard roll and steaming shumai. At $11.99 the price was reasonable since you can order as much as you want to eat and a specialty roll is usually in the $12 to $20 price range at other reataurants. Delicious!! I love the self service veggie bar. The sushi was very good. I don't eat meat or fish, so I just had the veggie, avocado, and cucumber rolls. All three, and the miso soup were delicious! This was my second experience with Sushi King, the other being the West Broad location. I went for lunch during the work week, and thankfully, this experience was significantly better than my other experience there. The food came out quickly, and I was able to receive multiple rolls without spending my whole day in the restaurant. Same as the other location, the interior has been renovated to a decent enough ambiance. It was relatively empty they day we went. The restaurant is large, with the salad buffet in the middle. The selection on the salad buffet was decent. I didn't have any dessert because I didn't have enough room. The service was prompt, and each of the three rolls I ordered came relatively quickly. I think the lunch price is a much greater value than the dinner price, because at the end of the day, if you're going for all you can eat -- your stomach can only hold but so much sushi. The whole experience was fine, but the sushi was pretty flavorless. None of the three rolls I tried really stood out to me. I probably won't be running back as I'd rather have less sushi with more taste. I don't eat a lot, so two rolls is generally plenty for me anyways. I liked this all you can eat lunch sushi. Even though you have to order it and wait awhile, you can still get all you can eat. Because it is all you can eat though, the rolls are smaller than most places and tightly rolled. This is the smallest "Rainbow Roll" that I have had anywhere. The knife cuts are very thin. You can only get 1 nigiri per order and the cuts are so very thin that all you can taste is the rice. I do like the salad buffet and choices there. Clear soup was good. The sushi was all good...just a little on the cheap tight roll side. But...you can only expect that for all you can eat places I guess. read more

It's alright ... quantity over quality ... This place is the third and the newest location in Richmond area, other location being West Broad St. and Hull St. on the southside. If you want a pricey large, fresh sashimi platter to share with people in your party, like the ones you can order at a typical sushi joint, then this place is not for you. But if you want to gorge yourself on average at best, over-westernized sushi rolls, then you are in right place. Taste-wise, nothing really stands out. They do a good job overall with plating and presentation, at least with the rolls. Other food items such as hibachi and teriyaki dishes don't really stack up against more upscale joints. If you are not a big eater, I'd skip this place. Lunch is a better deal price-wise. Service was fine. read more
