This place is so lovely. The interior is really cute and the food and service is great but the important thing here is you must not go during busy times like peak dinner time on any given night and definitely not during the weekend unless you have a lot of time to kill and/or you have the patience of a saint. Or now since we got that out of the way here are some great things about this place. It's AYCE but you don't have to get up out of your seat. They bring all the food to you! The food is exceptional, comparable to a regular sit down sushi place. A fountain drink is included in the price and it's really not that expensive at all for an AYCE sushi buffet - $21.95 for lunch $34.95 for dinner. The sashimi quality was outlandish and to my surprise I never once got a scale or bone in my fish and neither did anyone else in my party. Their cold foods were fresh, hot foods were piping hot, and their rice for their sushi and rolls had really good consistency and texture. The fish quality is average. They now put limitations to how much sashimi you can order. The service is a hit or miss. Service- they told us it would be 20 minutes. It was 24. They have some weird thing where they get your phone number and connect it to open table. We sat down on the bar side. It took 13 minutes to get our drinks... which all of our drinks were literally soda and two were the exact same drink. Food did come out very quickly (alarming?!?) I'm talking like 5 minutes or less after ordering. Food- solid 3/5 for most people. I'm picky- especially with sushi. 2/5 for me. A lot of the food tasted like knockoffs of the original. Only the gyoza and the sesame balls tasted normal. Everything else tasted fake. What I've learned is places that do AYCE including both sushi and other items like rice, etc, do it all and do it badly. The "chicken fried rice" had 0 seasoning. We asked for yum yum sauce to jazz it up. The sauce looked and tasted like sweetened vanilla yogurt. It was a bright yellow... the chicken had 0 flavor. It was literally unseasoned rice + unseasoned chicken + egg. The sushi was mid. Nothing bad but nothing amazing either. All in all, I'm really bummed because I've been hoping for a decent AYCE spot but this is absolutely not it. It's $35 a person and at most I would say it's worth $15 a person for dinner. Obsessed is an understatement. I have been dying to find a good AYCE sushi place in the Plano area, and Sushi Masa is my new go-to. 21.95 AYCE lunch (even on weekends) is a STEAL. You get nigiri options and so many different cooked and roll options as well. For the normal rolls, you have the option to make any of them a hand roll, which is amazing. There is plenty of seating, and the inside of the restaurant is quite large to go with friends or a big group. For a date, it can get a bit loud, but it is absolutely doable. The service is quite efficient, with your server placing your order on a tablet and the food coming out timely. The nigiri for lunch? Fresh and great quality for the price! The rolls aren't anything super special, but the baby tiger and the shaggy dog roll are good. The other rolls are good, but the nigiri really is where the food stands out! Their tuna tataki appetizer is done well, and their tempura is delicious as well. The vegetable noodles is what I would recommend, as the meat that is paired with the noodles is not seasoned well. Newly opened sushi spot- they've been open for about 2 weeks (May 2024). The restaurant is really nice and clean. All the staff are really friendly and very attentive, since they are so new, everyone is still trying to figure out the ropes, but you can see everyone is doing their best. The food was AMAZING! I cannot say enough great times about the food. They have a very expansive menu, including a huge all you can eat menu for Lunch and Dinner (AYCE). We ordered Gyoza (pork dumplings), Golden Spider (deep fried soft crab) for appetizers, the Sushi Bridge with comes on a cute little sushi boat with tons of raw sushi items and 2 cooked rolls (Crunchy and Dragon roll), we also added on a Bon Temps roll and seaweed salad. Went on a Sunday during peak lunch hour (1:30pm) and our wait was around 45min. We were able to put our name down and we waited, but we saw many groups come in and get seated before us. I was told they do not take reservations on weekends, so not sure what that was. Our server was amazing (Bridgette) and she made sure to check up on us frequently. The food quality was actually pretty decent and the variety for a lunch menu is solid. $21.95 if you're seated before 2:30pm everyday of the week and $34.99 any time after that. Super quick service! Once you tell your server what you want, it gets into the system immediately. Just make sure what you say is exactly what you want because the second they put it in (which is immediate), you can't change your mind. We tried to right after saying the wrong sushi name and she said it was too late and it was coming. When other servers dropped off the sushi we ordered, we tried to ask what certain things were to make sure it was our order since we got some things we didn't order previously, but one or two servers just didn't even respond and walked away. They didn't want to be bothered with questions it seemed. Since it's an AYCE restaurant, they really should tell the table what they are dropping off to ensure it's what we ordered so nothing goes to waste. We also didn't get a few things we ordered and had to reorder or just completely skip it since it took longer than other dishes. I got the all you can eat lunch. The food was good and it felt worth it. I got dragon roll and I-10 roll. For the nigiri, the fish tasted alright. I thought the smoked salmon would taste more smoked, I could barely tell the difference. I think I prefer the seared salmon in sushi kushi more. The kani salad was yummy. This is my first all-you-can-eat (ACYE) sushi experience. I've never wanted to try because I'm always a concerned about the quality of the sushi. Sushi Masa was excellent and exceeded my expectations! Everything was super fresh and brought right to our table. If ACYE isn't your thing, they let you order à la carte too. The highlights for us: * Yellowtail sashimi * Crazy Yellowtail Roll * Little Tokyo Roll * Scallop They were also great about making adjustments--I needed gluten-free soy sauce and a couple of roll modifications, and it was no problem at all. We've both eaten here before and previously enjoyed it, but this visit was extremely disappointing and will likely be our last. To start, our waitress was great--this was not her fault at all. After being seated and placing our order, we waited over 30 minutes without receiving a single roll. During that time, a table next to us with four diners sat down, ordered, and received their food within minutes. Shortly after, a table behind us experienced the same thing. Meanwhile, we still had nothing. After waiting long enough, I called our waitress over and explained that while she had done nothing wrong, we were done waiting. I told her we would pay for our soft drinks and the soup that came with the all-you-can-eat and that we were leaving. The most disappointing part of the entire experience was that no manager ever came over to apologize or explain what might have happened. The only response we received was from our waitress, who told us we didn't owe anything. Good service from our waitress couldn't make up for the long wait and complete lack of management involvement. I asked the waiter to alert the restaurant manager, and we had to wait 30 minutes before the manager came to the table. When he finally came he said that the hair was not from his staff. What? The food came to the table from his kitchen with hair in it so how is it not from his staff? He never apologized for having hair in the food and did not seem the least bit sorry for ruining our lunch. No one could eat their food because there was so much disgusting hair in my food that they lost their appetite. I came here with a really large group and they were accommodating (we made a reservation). Our server was really nice and patient and explained how everything worked. The only complaint I would have about service is the sashimi platters came out pretty slow. The waiter said that the kitchen was a few hundred pieces of sashimi behind but you're able to get in queue for your next order before your platter arrives. I've been to Sushi Masa many times, and the service has been mid to ok most of the time, but today's experience was the absolute worst service I've ever had. The food is good, but the four girl hostesses are so sassy and rude. There was one person in front of me, and when it was my turn, none of them looked up to say anything. I looked at one of the girls and she finally looked up and was so annoyed when I told her how big our party was. She took down my name and phone number, so I thought it was a long wait. After 20 minutes of an empty lobby with a bunch of parties going through, someone else in my party got up and asked how much longer the wait was. They were so sassy and snapped at us while we were still mid sentence saying "your whole party needs to be here". 3 people in our party went to the bar because the wait was so long and we pointed it to them because it was 3 steps away from the front desk. They snapped back at us and said "well they have to be here in the lobby" and kept trying to talk over us when we told them that. They finally got us a table and it was another 3 steps away from the bar... so we didn't understand why it was so hard for them to just peek their head around the corner. The meal portion was fine and the server was good. Overall, just disappointed at how unwelcoming it was to come in and to be greeted with sass for no reason. Service was really not trying and every dish they brought us, their thumbs were touching the food. The restaurant is noisy and they clear tables by throwing dishes into big bins and it made a ton of noise. We got and shared sushi boat and the California roll is only a ton of imitation krab meat, not even the veggies. This place was so disappointing. The first thing that is noticed when you enter is the unique ambiance. What a hoot! My family got the biggest laugh out of it! I think that their designer couldn't decide if they were going for a tiki lounge, steakhouse, sushi bar or bbq joint so they just threw it all in there. They incorporated everything from bamboo to wagon wheels. But we weren't there for the decor anyway... For the most part, we really enjoyed the sushi. They have a wide variety of options. We really enjoyed the Tiger Roll and actually ordered a second one of those. However, I would highly encourage you to steer away from the red Dragon roll. It's topped with a a mound of spicy tuna that looks like dog food. The texture was terrible. My kids would not touch it and my husband and I could only bear to take one bite. So, that was a huge waste of $13 as we did not do the all you can eat. Our server was sweet. She just seemed very green and not confident. We will probably try it one more time and see how it goes. The sashimi was fresh, the rolls were tasty, the tempura was crispy, and the tuna tataki and pepper tuna were two thumbs up. Josh was a great waiter, checking back in often and providing recommendations when asked. We had a very enjoyable, unhurried meal - often the AYCE spots place time limits and push you out - not here. I've been to this restaurant twice now and had the same issue both times with the same server. On my most recent visit 5/14/25, she (server) walked past our table over five times without saying a word or even looking our way. We were seated right next to the booths she was serving, and all she had to do was turn around -- but she never did. It took over 15 minutes just to be acknowledged, even though it wasn't that busy, just semi-busy at most. Compared to another sushi spot just 10 minutes away, the service here doesn't come close. The other place is much more attentive and consistent. Even the portion sizes there are noticeably better than what's offered here.
