We had a great experience at this new restaurant. The decor and ambiance is really cool and authentic. The service was wonderful and the food was really great. Most of our table opted for the endless dinner option which was a great value with a broad selection of choices. When I head all you can eat, I thought it was a buffet, but it's not. It was good more than I expected. They have aburi salmon that I really like and sushi-Yama doesn't have. Eel and squid were so good and melt in your mouth. I with they have saba in menu which Sushi-Yama has it. Also more raw special roll selection would be nice. They have more cooked one. And they only have less sodium soy sauce. They must have regular soy sauce!! I need to take it with me next time I go here. Dessert selection is better than sushi-Yama. Sesame ball, fried Oreo were so good with ice cream. read more

I came to check out Sushi Masa a couple weeks ago with my fiancé. We did the all you can eat for $36.95! We ordered many of their sushi or sashimi pieces, the signature rolls and rolls/ hand rolls and the quality was amazing! Everything so very fresh for an all you can eat restaurant this is by far one of the best ones I've been too! The service was fantastic super helpful, friendly and quick service. House hot sake paired perfectly with my meal. Our server, Sebastian, was stellar! He would check on us every time he passed by and made sure everyone at our party of 5 was happy. Yet another AYCE sushi spot literally steps away from another AYCE sushi place but this one is much much better. The inside is very nice and I like how there is more privacy for your party compared to the competition. The server was very attentive and ready to offer recommendations. The menu is smaller than koizi or ajisai but the options were all quality. Out of the sushi rolls none really stood out to me however the miso seabass and the torch salmon were so good I would come back for those two selections alone. The food presentation was great I loved that the sashimi was served on ice. I would say it is priced around the same as the other options in town and there is plenty of parking available. The desert portion of the menu had lots of options although the Oreos were not my favorite. I look forward to returning soon! read more

We love Sushi Masa Japanese Restaurant in Lakeland and were expecting a similar experience. We had a wonderful time because we were with great friends in a party of 6. But wow this place is disorganized and differently priced. The all-you-can-eat is $36.95 and does not include a drink like the Lakeland location. They want you to order your items up front rather than as you go. The second your order is placed, items start flying out of the kitchen--even before others in your party have ordered. AND they have no idea who ordered what. Some things never came or went to another person in our party or another table--who knows. Same experience with all-you-can-eat Shrimp. Food was almost as good as Lakeland, but not quite. Wish they cleared dishes once in a while. read more

There are two sushi restaurants in this area. I chose Sushi Masa just because the exterior look was more appealing. The entry was also very clean and decorative. I visited on a Friday around 2:30 pm so slightly off hours. The restaurant had some patrons but not crowded due to the time. Trinity was my waitress and also seemed to be taking care of the bar. She was extremely attentive and gave great suggestions for the AYCE. She also asked if I wanted any sauces or wasabi which I appreciated. I tried the clear soup and avocado salad to start. The food plates are small so I was able to try many items. The Asian taco was great as was the shrimp tempura. I tried the shumai rather than the gyoza since I was alone and the serving size was smaller. I probably would have preferred the gyoza since I generally just like gyoza better. The tuna and salmon sushi was very fresh and delicious. I finished with the green tea ice cream. I would like to visit at another time of year when it's not so hot because the outdoor dining area looked nice. Overall great experience. I will visit again. read more

Bit underwhelmed. We were expecting similar quality and service as sushi Yama but AYCE here does not include hibachi plus even for a party of 10ppl, they only allowed 10 pieces of any sashimi at a time which meant we waited a long time to place next order and then for the order to be served. No wasabi or ginger with any sushi/sashimi dishes so we had to ask waiter for that as well. Very slow to serve overall. Drinks not included although their menu at the counter indicated soft drinks and tea were included in the AYCE price. When asked they claimed only their Lakeland restaurant came with drinks in the AYCE price.....Not sure why the difference? Food quality was mediocre, nothing real special. Would rather drive to sushi Yama next time!! Ambiance was fair. If you remember the layout of the old Red Lobster, very similar layout with some updates and enhanced decorations. read more

Service, in particular, food delivery is terrible. 40 minutes for one roll. This is our third try here - same issue. Clearly prioritizing the all you can eat folks, who seem to get their food very quickly. The model is also such that the server is not very present, and doesn't run your food. This would be fine, but has led to issues with our drinks being refilled regularly, as the servers don't have the chance to check in often. Servers themselves seem very competent and friendly, so it seems a process/model issue. The food runners don't provide any service beyond dropping the food, so even asking for refills is not possible with them. Food is good, but my dining partner finished her two rolls twenty minutes before mine arrived. EDIT: Manager handled situation very well. Discounted check and was very understanding. Hope they get their process together as the food is very good. read more

This was our first time here for a date night and it was phenomenal! I had it in my favorites for the longest time and it exceeded expectations! Everything was super delicious, we really enjoyed the all you can eat menu and got multiple orders of the rockin shrimp, taco appetizer, and teriyaki steak. Our server Sebastian was also very nice and made sure we were always taken care of. We also got a few rolls and salmon sashimi, everything tasted so fresh! If 3.5 was an option I would give it that. Ambience and food were wonderful! Our service was not great. The waiter was nice but definitely not on top of things. Had to keep asking what food we were missing, brought the incorrect drinks and forgot a couple of items and brought an incorrect bill. The pacing was bad- some food came very quickly, but my husband had to wait a long time for his. Hoping these are just kinks with the newness of the restaurant. A vegetarian and carnivore walk into sushi masa. My husband got the all you can eat and I was able to order Al la Cart vegetarian rolls (some restaurants make the whole table get all you can eat if one guest gets it.) They had one vegetarian signature roll which was the Lucky Buddha which I thought was a really good vegetarian option, which some sushi restaurants in the area are lacking. The rest of the vegetarian sushi are simple vegetable rolls which aren't anything special. My husband was able to eat 5 rolls which were full sized and definitely got his moneys worth. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary as we heard there was a new restaurant in town! Coming in, the ambiance and decor in the restaurant were amazing. My boyfriend and I ordered the all you can eat. Some of the dishes such as the spicy tuna roll and the hand roll were poorly wrapped. I couldn't even pick the rolls up without it falling apart. The hand roll was decent except for the seaweed part being tough that I had a hard time eating it. I ordered the salmon and white tuna sashimi and it was presented so beautifully. It was also really good. We had the fried Oreos which were amazing. I also ordered a miso soup which I never received but I didn't mind because it was almost closing time anyway. The service was pretty slow. I'm not sure if it was because of the amount staff but when I went, the restaurant wasn't packed so I was confused on why I was getting food super slow. Maybe go for lunch? I'm sure if you're going as a couple or by yourself it may be worthwhile, but for a family of 5 with 3 kids under 6, it was outrageous. Our check with tip was over $150 and our children ate rice. We weren't offered an option to order a la carte for the kids even when we explained that they wouldn't eat any of the AYCE menu besides plain broth and rice. It's certainly well within their rights to take that stance, and we should have politely walked away instead of spending $40+ for 3 bowls of broth and 3 plates of rice. The sushi was fine, but you can certainly get away with spending far less ordering la carte at much higher quality sushi restaurants in the bay area.
