Looking at the pictures in others' reviews from 1-2 years ago and comparing with what we got, the restaurant seems to have changed hands. We went here for take out and just had probably the worst attempt at Japanese food in our life. Pork Katsu was somewhere between plywood and wet cardboard the rice was stale and I'm not sure what type of salad was offered. The white tuna sushi was not white. You could tell it's old and they used sauce to cover it up... to say we are disappointed is an understatement. We could barely ate them. read more

I finally found a really good sushi place close to home. It was surprising that there wasn't a lot of customers inside when we got here. The staff is super friendly too. So we started with the fried calamari. Wow!! It was so fresh and so good. If it wasn't made in house then they fooled me good. Loved it! Ordered here last week, excited to try out what the new chef had to offer. Some of our favorites were no longer on the menu- and it's hard to find an updated menu bc the old one is till the only one online. I've ordered from sushi nomi quite a few times and everytime it's all better than the next granted last few times I order to go but I had dine in the first time i was here they made the food right in front of us and it was super delicious, service was very friendly and they've always welcomed me in, even if I didn't have a friend to accompany me to dine in I wouldn't mind dining in by myself bc of how quiet it is and how good the food is. Compared to all the other big sushi places, they have a wild selection, accommodating, super affordable too poke bowl only being 13 bucks and loaded with all that it comes with is a steal, super filling too sushi nomi will be my go to sushi spot. they'll always have my business as long as they remain the standard. read more

I got the temptation roll for take out (which the service was great) and it was gone in 3 minutes it was that good and I was really hungry lol. I would definitely recommended. We have been in here quite a few times. We decided to stop in today and that will be the last time we ever come in My son LOVES salmon sashimi and we used to come to satisfy his little belly. It used to be thick cuts and delicious. This time it was FAR from delicious. The color was off, it was sliced almost paper thin, and it tasted extremely fishy which salmon should NOT! The geisha roll was decent pretty good. I CANNOT get past how BAD the cut and quality was of the salmon. Especially in comparison to previous visits. Also 2 dishes were dirty. 1 plate and 1 fork. Total disappointment and waste of money. For $20 and 6 TINY slices was absurd. The restaurant was empty, we were the only ones in there besides staff The only good part was the waitress. Felt rushed to order despite them giving us only one menu spanning 10+ pages when there were two of us in the whole store. I got the salmon sashimi bento and everything was extremely wet for some reason. The sashimi was falling apart and was cut into lumps. None of the fish was firm and felt as if it wasn't handled correctly. The salad was nothing special and the seaweed salad tasted a bit unsafe. The ambiance was really off as well. Since there were only the two us, we felt that we were being stared down and could hear all of the high school gossip the employees were sharing. Went for late lunch. Ordered the steamed buns, tempura shrimp, tempura vegetables, crab Rangoon, rainbow roll & teriyaki chicken plate. Tempura items were not tempura but instead Panko crusted & deep fried. When I asked the server, he said he didn't know the difference. There were very small pieces of veggies as well. No sweet potato, or zucchini from what I can tell. Looked more like a bunch of onion ring slices broken into smaller pieces. (They are not interchangeable). Crab Rangoon had oil sitting on it on the plate. Steam buns had an excess of mayo/sauce & the tiniest slice of pork. The rainbow roll came with some sort of salty/tangy/vinegar- like sauce under it that completely altered the taste. It was also not very chilled. Very disappointing. Hubby's teriyaki chicken was ok. This is now my go to spot for a quick lunch or dinner! I ordered the house salad, cherry blossom rolls, and tuna and tamago nigiri and everything was delicious. The sushi tasted so fresh and it was worth the price. I was surprised with a big portion of the house salad but it was so fresh that I wish I could order more if I have room in my stomach. We had just moved to this side of town and were looking for our new sushi place. I was taken aback by how small it was but excited by it too. It feels cozy and like our sushi secret. The servers could be nicer. The female never smiles and doesn't keep up with drinks or making sure the table is happy. I will say I do miss the older menu. The new menu items are a little too different. They changed up a lot of our favorite rolls. Not in a great way. Not a fan of mango sauce. The new physical menu is awful. So hard to read. Please for the love of Fish find a decent menu designer. Over all we will keep trying it until we decide to find a new place. read more

This small restaurant was very nicely adorned and so, so good! Stay with me while I tell you the story. I was wanting seafood while on a lunch break. Suddenly, for some reason, I had a flashback to my time spent in Miho, Japan. Excellent Tempura Soba came to mind. So I looked in Yelp for a Japanese restaurant nearby and Sushi Nomi came up. Well, I thought, I'll give it a try. I drove there, walked through the strip mall storefront, and thought to myself, "self, I think you're going to like this!" I was seated (anywhere I liked), and as she handed me the menu, I said, "no thanks, I'd like the Shrimp Tempura Soba please. How's your day been so far?" She responded something like, "meh", and turned and walked away. After a couple of minutes, she brought me a small appetizer of pickled cucumbers and jalapeños, and pickled ginger. Nice surprise! Then, after about 10 minutes or so, she brought a large bowl of Tempura Soba noodles that was in a broth that had tofu, fish cakes, veggies, and a lot of other stuff in it. Along with that came a generous portion of tempura shrimp. And WOW! Everything was spot on!!! After the first taste, I flashed back again. there I was, sitting on a small restaurant deck on the side of Mount Scuba, overlooking a mass of wildly beautiful, plum trees that were in bloom, from which the warm, plum sake was made! Yes, I enjoyed some along with my meal on Mt. Scuba as well. It was cool up there, and as I slurped up each noodle from the hot soba broth, steam could be seen from each, fat, lengthy piece. Wow!!! Yummm! And, did I I mention how how good it was? Wait, what was that!? Dang it! One of the other customers left the restaurant, which ultimately distracted me from my flashback and brought me back to reality. Yep, not back in Japan anymore Toto... but, the food was nearly, if not as good! Large prawns vs large to medium sized shrimp was the only difference I noticed. Everything else conjured up great memories. Finally, the venture had to end as I had to get back to work. "Check please", I said. Surprisingly, the entire meal, with a drink, was around normal lunchtime prices! " "Domo arigatō!" I said. And, as I departed, the owner and chef said the same. My son is ramen obsessed. Says he wants to moved to Japan when he turns 18 and wants to be the Ramen King. He wants to eat ramen all the time... which I don't mind, but my family tends to get stuck on the same place for awhile. I don't want to eat the same places over and over and over again. So when husband didn't want to drive far, Yelp took us here. I could be wrong, but I think it's Korean owned because 1. I heard them speaking Korean and 2. The Spicy Korean ramen that my daughter got was the best thing on the table. Nothing wrong with it being Korean owned though. Anyway, we shared a sushi roll.. I don't remember which one. I ended up eating the whole thing because no one liked it. I also got a temaki hand roll. Again, I don't remember which one..Old brain! It wasn't bad.
