I had such a wonderful experience here today! The service was quick and attentive which really made this outing amazing. My group ordered an appetizer, sushi rolls and two entrees. Everything came in good time and had flavor. I especially liked the crunch roll & calamari. Personally didn't prefer the 3 companies roll. There's a wide selection of sushi rolls to choose from & the pictures on the menu are nice. Our meal came with soup along with being offered complimentary champagne for NYD. There's a lot of indoor tables and had a nice ambiance. I would come again if I was in town!

Came here on a sunday around 4pm no wait to be seated. Service was good food came out really quick. Street parking. Two bathrooms. Big TV playing sports. Ordered the 3 amigos roll the scallop inside was good. Ordered the Octopus salad it was tangy. The Baked salmon roll was good but wished the seasoning was more on the salmon itself. All in all good for a one time try.

Another great sushi place. I have to say though that this place has the best service I have experienced in a long time. Literally a few seconds from sitting down at the bar we get our soup. Very busy place but still food comes out quickly and not overly expensive. I would definitely recommend coming here and try it. I will try to come as often as I can. Absolutely 5 starts on service, food and ambiance!!!

Be careful you'll miss it, if you blink!! We were able to get parking right in front with no issues. Must park fast though if you don't want your back end to get tore off! Lol Walked in and it wasn't busy at all. We sat at counter where you can watch them make all your dishes. If I had her name, the waitress would definitely get acknowledged due to her poor customer service and attitude. No smile. Brash and she acted as if she was disgusted with us when inquiring. We also noticed when other customers arrived she broke her neck rushing to assist them. I believe the chef caught wind of her attitude and our discomfort and he immediately took our order. Would we return again, probably not. However, the 4 star is solely based on the chefs interaction and you should definitely try out Sushi On Fire!!

Came in on a Wednesday night for dinner. Servers and waitress were attentive, checking in how the foo and everything else was. The vibes are relaxing and not too crowded. The eel roll, black dragon roll, sexy roll, hello kitty hand roll, yum yum scallop, and half oyster were ordered. Both eel roll and black dragon roll dishes were yummy, not too much eel sauce. The yum yum scallop has a very sweet/sour tang to it and it was good. The half oysters were interesting as there was a spicy sauce in it. The sexy roll was delicious as it contained NO RICE and I got to enjoy the fish variety. My favorite was the hello kitty hand roll - another NO RICE and I loved it. Got to enjoy the fish and tempura shrimp in a soy paper wrap. Would recommend these 2 dishes for no rice option.

My go-to place for a quick sushi. Super friendly staff and really fast service. The prices are some of the best on 2nd street. I usually avoid the weekends as this place gets packed!!

Stopped by for happy hour after seeing them on Instagram. What led me here was the truffle salmon belly sushi which I was a little hesitant paying extra for - would the truffle really add that much? It did and it was so worth it. Everything else I had was great too, very fresh: the shrimp sushi, the snow crab sushi, and the complimentary miso soup. Presentation was beautiful. The atmosphere was quiet on a Monday around 4 pm and service was prompt and friendly. I felt completely comfortable dining alone as a solo diner.

Came here on the night of the boat parade around 5 pm and we got in right away. The sushi rolls were decent and the service was good. It a memorable experience but it was decent for a last minute decision.

Sushi on Fire in Long Beach has quickly become one of our favorite spots. This was my girlfriend's and my second visit, and Dara--our amazing waitress--actually remembered our names. She gives fantastic recommendations, including an incredible bluefin tuna dish this time around. She really knows her stuff and makes the whole experience even better. We always get the big Asahi beers that come with sake, and the spicy edamame is seriously the best we've ever had. Everything is always fresh, and we've been seated right away on both visits. There was also another super friendly waitress helping out, and my girlfriend pointed out that she had a really cute hairstyle--we didn't catch her name, but she added to the great vibe of the night. Sushi on Fire nails it every time. Great service, great food, great energy. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Walked over for happy hour which was a decent hh, not the best sushi hh I've seen but 20% off food which is pretty good. It's from 2-5pm so more of a late lunch early dinner. The service was great. Good ambiance. Menu was a little too big, there were probably ~70 specialty rolls to pick from. Overall the food was tasty so I would give 4 stars. I am docking a star because the rolls I got seemed to be wrapped with way more rice and less fish than I've seen before (you can tell in my picture). Baked salmon roll had slivers of salmon on top. Maybe it's a happy hour thing?

I have loved the food here for years and years... ESPECIALLY their quail egg shots! It's super cute they're handing out fortune cookies to all the kids dressed up to trick or treat along 2nd Street for Halloween! The wall decor and interior ambience could use a little pick me up though... it's been a while? ‍

This is my girlfriend's favorite spot in all of Long Beach. Large variety of rolls but they do not skip on the freshness or flavor. Great hidden gem with fast and friendly service. Not really any glitz and glam, but would definitely recommend for the quality of food that you get

I sat at the bar and immediately noticed how incredibly clean and fresh everything felt--no fishy smell at all, which is always a big plus for me at a sushi restaurant. The service was impeccable from beginning to end: friendly, attentive, and easy. I ordered the 12-piece sashimi and it was SO fresh and delicious. I also tried the Three Amigos hand roll and absolutely loved it! Everything tasted amazing and the presentation was beautiful. Great food, spotless restaurant, and wonderful service. What's funny is that we've both lived around Long Beach forever and somehow never fully connected with Oho despite hearing good things about it for years. We had randomly stopped in one afternoon recently thinking we'd just split a roll and head home, but the food ended up being so good that we kept ordering "one more thing" until we accidentally skipped dinner entirely later that night. That experience was good enough that when we found ourselves trying to figure out dinner again yesterday, Oho immediately came back into the conversation. We got there early evening and the timing was perfect. Busy enough to feel lively and like you were out for the night, but not so packed that service slowed down or the room became chaotic. The pacing of the meal was honestly one of the best parts. Dishes came out steadily without crowding the table, and everything felt very natural and relaxed. The tuna crispy rice was fantastic and a little different from the usual presentation. Perfect crisp on the outside, almost caramelized, with really airy spicy tuna on top that reminded me more of a tartare texture than the heavier versions you sometimes get elsewhere. We also had bluefin tuna, toro, salmon sashimi, a spicy scallop roll, and the Extreme Crunch Roll with light eel sauce, which ended up being surprisingly balanced and not over-the-top despite the name. Even the iced green tea stood out. Bright green, almost cloudy, super refreshing, and honestly exactly what I wanted with sushi. Service was excellent both visits. It felt very team-oriented behind the sushi bar and on the floor, which kept everything moving smoothly without feeling rushed. A couple practical notes: parking is easy overall, but the lot is shared with the motel, so just be mindful where you park and try to stay closer toward the restaurant side of the lot. Also, this feels much better suited for couples or small groups than large parties. Four people would be ideal. Six is probably pushing it unless the restaurant is unusually quiet. Really happy we gave this place another shot because it ended up being one of the more satisfying sushi dinners we've had in a while.

The negative things on my visit are. 1. It was warm inside the restaurant which made it uncomfortable. 2. Only one small restroom 3. Prices are a tad on the expensive side. $19 to $20 a bowl. 4. I believe management was not being honest regarding my question about being a Michellin Star rated restaurant. How are you in management and dont know the status of your own restaurant?
