Best sushi in St. Louis. We moved from Southern California and Scottsdale and have been trying to find a go to sushi place and finally found one. We mostly eat sashimi and it's pretty easy to tell the fish quality without any rice or sauce and everything was super fresh and tasty. Had a couple rolls that didn't disappoint either. read more

My husband and I stopped in on a Sunday during the holidays and there were only 2 other tables seated. We found parking right in front. I imagine finding a parking spot during the week or during lunch time would be much more difficult. So, be prepared to walk. Sushi is worth it though. We sat at the bar and ordered 4 rolls. I love watching the sushi chefs make prepare the rolls right in front of us. The sushi was great, the ingredients all looked/tasted fresh, and the service was speedy. While we were eating, the chef started slicing up several salmon filets. That fish looked good!! I almost ordered a 2nd round of food... First time at sushi station with my fiance! Was greeted and seated right away! Fairly busy around 4pm and then it got packed shortly after! The Restaurant was bright, clean, and not too loud. Our waitress was very kind and no I didn't catch a name! She was very patient with us trying to decide on what to order. We ended up ordering one chicken katsu bowl and 2 rolls of sushi: spicy tuna rolls and spicy girl rolls. Took about 10-15 mins for food to come out. Our water was constantly getting refilled :) which i love! Our food was good, but i wouldnt say it was amazing ! I like the spicy girl rolls better than spicy tuna! The chicken katsu bowl was so much food, didn't like how it was filled with a ton of white rice, proportion was off! The location was in a very good neighbor! And it was so close to my house. I want to preface that I have never written an online negative review of any sort. I ate at this restaurant about 8 months ago and had inedible food. At the time the tuna sashimi was full of water and chewy; ultimately I threw away my full take out order. I previously ate there twice, both good and bad experiences. Tonight I thought I would give it one more try. Again the tuna sashimi was full of water and chewy. The shrimp tempura roll had no flavor and the Agedashi tofu tasted of microwaved cardboard. I told the waiter I was unhappy with both dishes and requested the Agedashi tofu be taken off the bill ($7), since I only had 1 bite. The manager told me it can not be taken off the menu and "I should be reminded of the line on the menu which states all sales are final". It is one thing to have inedible food but the deplorable customer service is unforgivable and insulting at best. I do not recall any restaurant which emphasizes all sales final. This in and of itself is cautionary especially when serving raw fish. I would not recommend this sushi under any circumstances. read more

Overpriced Chinese food. The unagi bowl was strange, with seaweed salad and orange slices over the rice. It's more like Chinese American, lots fried options and sweet or creamy sauces on most things, which made it very heavy. Crazy expensive for fried Chinese food. read more

Big front windows allow for fantastic lighting while the warm wooden walls make you feel right at home. The menu is very straight forward with a wide appeal. Traditional Japanese entrees such as Katsu-Kare and Tempura Udon compliment a well constructed and fun sushi menu. Sushi offerings range from traditional nigiri (single piece of fish atop rice) and basic tuna and salmon rolls to larger rolls composed of fresh fish, various veggies, and tasty sauces! I cannot compliment this new restaurant enough! This is a great sushi restaurant in Webster. The sushi here is of good quality, and they have good service. I got a miso soup and an eel cucumber roll. The soup wasn't bad and the eel roll was very good, although there wasn't a whole lot of eel in the eel cucumber roll. Avoid this place at all costs! They will not remake items they messed up, they will not remove items you didn't order off of your bill! They will not check on your table! And when you ask for a manager or refuse to pay for items you did not order they will call the police on you! Went there tonight for dinner with some out of town family. Party of 6, in an otherwise dead empty restaurant. Everyone orders, they come to me last. I have a lot of Nigiri, three rolls and an appetizer for my group so I graciously wrote the entire order down in my notes and presented it to the waitress( who was less than thrilled already) I clearly write in my order to give me the spicy mayo on two of the rolls and the appetizer ON THE SIDE. App comes out- covered in spicy mayo. I don't say anything even tho it's a 10$ two piece app. Everybody else's food comes out- they say we are waiting on sushi. 15 minutes later- ( everyone else is mostly done by now) here comes my two 17$ rolls. Well guess what- they are COVERED in spicy mayo and the waitress also brings out two sides of more spicy mayo?? I have to wait another 10 minutes for her to even enter the dining room area to flag her down. When I do I politely say- hey uhh these were supposed to be with the spicy sauce on the side. She scoffs and says " well we don't remake rolls here" So again, politely, I ask if there is a manager present. She says no but that she will call them. Another 20 minutes goes by. Everyone else is done eating by now. She comes back and says manager said we will not remake your rolls. Begrudgingly I conceded, said hey it's ok don't worry about it, and off she went. I then decided I'd just pay for the mistake and order something else I could eat. But, she never came back to the table. Ever. Finally after a long long wait the bills arrive. As I'm looking over my more than 100$ check- I notice that I've been charged- for TWO sides of spicy mayo- even tho it was never ordered and was supposed to be off the rolls entirely etc. I then ask for the charge to be removed- to which they responded- we're not removing anything- you have to pay the full amount. By now the other two groups have already paid and gotten receipts. Upon which they both realized that this place has decided to add a 20% auto gratuity to all three separate bills. So they have already force scammed my family out of about 36$ in forced tip. Again I ask for a manager. I state that I have no issue paying for all my food( even tho it wasn't eaten) and that I don't even care about the items on my check that were never ordered- but that there was NO SHOT IN HELL that I was giving this horrendous waitress a 20% 22$ tip on top of all this after the experience we'd been given. I pull out my cash, enough to cover the bill and leave the waitress w an 8$ tip. And am told now at the end of the meal oh yeah we don't accept cash. And that you have to pay the FULL amount , the food that was never ordered , the food that was not eaten, and the forced 20% tip or they would call the police!! This is today, on Easter, in front of our of town family, parents, children, and the one other customer in the restaurant. Well needless to say- at this point- we weren't having it. The "shift lead" proceeds to call Webster groves PD- who arrive 15 minutes later. We are informed that even though this is egregious from the restaurant- that there's nothing that they can do about it. The police were so polite and respectful and wholly on the customers side. They talked to the shift lead talked to us , all privately, and ultimately told us best thing we could do is pay it, contest it, and leave a review. And also that we could grab the owner/managers name and number to contact them directly about this. Thankful for the officers who arrived! We go inside to run the card and ask the shift lead for the manager or owners name. She refuses to give us any information, the busser calls us ridiculous and tells us to shut up and leave. All of this nonsense took over an hour added to our family dinner. So here's the review- STAY AWAY, even if they muck up your order- they won't fix it. Even if they add things to your bill you didn't order- they won't remove them. And they will add 20% grat directly to your bill, not tell you, ever, and then still have the insult to provide you with a tip line on your final receipt. Oh and if you don't like any of that- here come the cops!! Hands down worst restaurant experience in all of St Louis. Needless to say me, my family, my friends, my followers, and the officers called will never be returning to this place, and you should heed the warning as well! read more

Nice waitress, good food, good ambiance. I liked the St Louis roll a lot. My wife thought the shrimp tempura roll was good (not great). Hers was small but also not expensive. We had edamame and crab rangoon to start - they were fine. I just wish that more restaurants would jazz up the edamame (for example, drizzled butter sauce that had a kick to it. I had that in Chicago and it was delicious). My daughter has the popcorn chicken and it was ok. Her three year old palette is pretty limited! My biggest complaint about Sushi Station was the sashimi. Fish tasted fresh but the sashimi pieces were cut too thin. Very happy to have a sushi option in town and we'll definitely be back (prob without my daughter)! read more

My lady and I eat here and order delivery quite frequently. Chicken teriyaki is very delicious. I usually order that and a roll. Comes with a small side salad with a sweet, thick peanut dressing. It's different Today we ordered the Marcos roll, the trio, spider, and fried Philly roll with spring rolls as a starter. 3.5 stars for food (a bit too saucy) but it's tempered by my last two trips there. Given the times, I have regularly added a 20% tip for my take out orders bc I want our local businesses to succeed. What I do not appreciate is the automatic 15% gratuity buried in the bill for my take out order. Where you sign for your receipt, there is another additional line for another tip. I was rather taken aback. I had never seen this practice unless it was a sit down dinner with a large party. This was a take out order for 4 people. The kicker is this, I was initially able to forgive the automatic gratuity but on the last two trips when the woman saw I ONLY added 5% additional tip (to her auto grab for 15%) she proceeded to give me the stink eye. This last time she made an audible irritated noise...so I should give you a 45% gratuity? The teriyaki sauce can be a bit much but I usually just scoot the sauce to the side. My kids love sushi so we make trip to a Japanese restaurant as part of our Take Out repertoire. I do not wish to trash a local business hence the 3 stars (vs an irate "I'd give a zero if I could..."). Hopefully it's just the stress of the times affecting her. It's great that they're so busy. I don't typically eat sushi in a landlocked state, but based on other reviews, we tried it. It was phenomenal!!! My husband l, who is a reluctant sushi partner, has a new favorite. The service was perfect! The food was amazing!!! There is a restaurant I eat at in San Jose, CA that opened in the 1960s or 70s that brags about having the first sushi master in the US, and I think he would enjoy dinner here. 5 stars for fresh, quality, service, and overall enjoyment. Food was very good. We ordered the spring rolls, crunchy shrimp roll, and one of the friends rolls, which I can't remember the name of right now. Everything came out within fairly good time. But not sure what happened to the service. They're was one server and she was too busy eating her own food in the dining area and watching TV. She was not helpful at all in explaining the rolls and was in a hurry the whole time. The interesting part was that we were the only customers there at the time. High remarks for the sushi; I really enjoyed the Spicy Girl Roll. I always ask for the rolls to be "cut small" so sharing is easier and that was no problem here. The wings were very dry, just a powder seasoning and deep fried. The bowl of sauce served with them isn't big enough to dunk them, so in the future I would ask them to toss the wings in their sauce back in the kitchen first. Also, can we talk about the giant bug zapper on the wall in the dining room . I can appreciate bugs can be an issue.... but... this is a solution? read more

Shocked I haven't posted a review of Sushi Station, especially since I've dived here about 10x! They're GOOD - so good we make the drive from Scott AFB across the river whenever we're craving sushi. I hate rolls drenched in sauces - that's not what sushi should be, and so far everything I've ordered here has been the best I've found in STL. Great sushi, huge bowls and outstanding staff! Been here a few times, and they never disappoint! My waitress was so nice to allow us to sit in the party room since the dining room was full and I needed to sit inside. We ordered the house salad which had the most delicious dressing. Then we shared gyudon which was warm and umami flavored. Next came our sushi: spicy tuna nigiri, tuna roll, avocado roll, caterpillar, sunrise and old Webster. Dont get your normal sushi here, caterpillar I liked the least. Sunrise and old Webster were amazing and unique. Oh and I did not get it tonight, but you HAVE to get the sashimi if thats you're thing. It the most flavorful fresh sashimi anywhere I have tried. I have spent a lot of $ here and I used Postmates to deliver tonight. 2 Postmates drivers had been waiting for over 2 hours for food. I tried calling and their phones were turned off. So I went up there. The female owner told me first come first serve. So I guess 2 hours wasn't enough time? Do you know how many times I have sat inside your restaurant? Do you know how many neighbors and friends I have brought to your restaurant? I use to live 1/4 mile away and would walk up there several times a week. Still live close and visit monthly, But if you order Postmates and aren't physically there then I guess you aren't a customer there? I guess I didn't matter? I will NEVER go into this restaurant again. During these times I have made an effort to only support local restaurants. In times like these people show their true colors.... and this one did. Unprofessional and unethical. Btw I don't like how your receipts show a percentage to tip the staff. It's tacky. And last but not least the owner is tacky. Besides the amazing food, Sushi Station offers a great atmosphere paired with amazing costumer service that is lead by owner Pui. She always makes time to check in on all her costumers. She also makes a point to spend time with her regular costumers. Sushi Station is a great place for casual dining and drinks, date night, or a family night out. I hardly write reviews, but this experience has struck me with many surprises. From my perspective, food and service should never be assumed to be great unless proven so. A tip is also something that is a form of gratitude and is not legally required by law. My money, my choice, my freedom to spend, use, and tip as I please. A tip is something I use to show my gratitude. Checking in on me 1 time throughout the entire meal with no water refill, being neglected while seated outside, and needing to walk inside to ask for my bill while 5 other workers stood around inside not doing much is not considered GREAT service. Choosing to sit outside does not mean choosing to have less service. Service should be great even if I don't make a complaint. Why do I need to speak up on poor service to get better service?Also, tip imo should be calculated pre-tax. The bill was $60 something pre-tax and therefore, do not assume cost+tax+tip is the total tab. I do not mind being confronted by how much I tip as both food and service were nothing special and mediocre. However, the things said in the confrontation are what I find unappreciated and rude, leading to this review. Telling me to order takeout instead of dining in if I don't tip over 15% is rude. According to another Yelp review, another customer was confronted for paying a 15% tip. What exactly will be enough? Telling me that ~10% pre-tax is not sufficient makes me feel that my business is unappreciated. It is not my duty as a customer to pay your workers if they feel underpaid. Loudly saying "my god" behind my back as I leave will not earn you more tip. As a customer, I will use my rights to tip and review as I please based on my personal experience. This was the first and will be the last time I dine here. In addition, I DO NOT appreciate lies (from Google Reviews) about MY experience. In response to the google review response: Mind you during the entire time I was harassed I said 2 things. "But it's a suggestion" and "ok". My attitude was perfectly respectful and I took my leave without arguing. Had I not been respectful, I would've taken the receipt you circled the suggestion tip box on and corrected the tip to $0 for that harassment. Just take the negative review and get over it. Please stop making assumptions about me and the individual I came with. Don't make assumptions about how I feel about my experience along with my marital status. I will not be patronizing this restaurant again. I have in the past and their sushi was excellent. I placed an order at 4:30 for a 5:15 pickup. I called 4 times, when I finally got through at 6 pm, I was told my order wasn't ready yet. With two yelling kids in the car, I left at 6:10, with no sign of progress.
