The sushi was good like all though the baked Crawfish Sushi, even though good, was not better than places like Crazy Rockin. The rest of their sushi was comparable though I think this place was more expensive than Crazy Rockin. For me, Crazy Rockin was way better overall though this place is definitely a Top 5 as it had decent service (a bit slow) and good ambiance. Show Sushi which is very close to this location and even though this place had better quality, I'm more pulled toward Show Sushi due to variety and price. Sorry. Delightful and delicious! The service was so unbelievably quick! They gave us a paper to fill out. My father in law wanted a tempura appetizer however we couldn't find it anywhere on the menu. After a fun day at Raging Waters we showed up here with a party of 10. They weren't too busy so we were able to get seated. Place is well decorated with a bunch of vintage toys at the sushi bar. Me and my husband loved this place! The sushi we ordered was bomb. The cuts of salmon were nice and thick, and the flavor for everything was just all around so good!! The Mango delight was my favorite. It had the perfect bite size pieces of mango, and I loved the spicy kick to it! The tempura crunch was very light and not too heavy, which we appreciated. We also ordered gyoza, sweet salmon, and the baked scallop roll. Now Service was all over the place and things took really long to come out, BUT please keep in mind these things are to be expected when you are deciding to dine in on soft opening. Went tonight with my partner, the ambiance was really nice and the decor was pretty. We ordered the baked green mussels, mango salmon delight, eel special, Baja California and the Las Vegas roll. The green mussels were delicious a must try! For the sushi I definitely recommend the eel special and Baja California if you like more fresh rolls. My partner really liked the mango salmon delight roll, but I couldn't really taste the fish in it. The Las Vegas roll was okay but wouldn't order it again. The service was prompt and the servers were attentive, but nothing extraordinary. They didn't forget anything and weren't rude so that's enough. I was seriously apprehensive about this place since it just opened, and I've never had sushi in San Dimas. WOW!! We heard about Sushiya through the San Dimas community Facebook group. I'm glad that a member took the time to rave about this place. It was definitely worth the hype. The restaurant has a very cute ambiance, and the service was great and everyone was very friendly. We ordered the special truffle seared salmon carpaccio (it came topped with delicious fried garlic chips!) and the yellowtail jalapeño carpaccio to start. Following that, we had the blue crab hand rolls, lemon blossom roll, and the yellowtail lover roll. All of it was spectacular!! Everything was so fresh, and the sushi rice, which is usually underrated, was just as tasty as the fish. The highlight for both my husband and I was the truffle seared salmon carpaccio. My best friend has been wanting me to try Sushiya for the past few months now and last night was it. I wish I never stepped foot inside this restaurant, an hour after leaving I had such severe food poisoning I thought I was going to die and my skin tone was white as a sheet as I was shaking vigorously on the bathroom floor for 12 hours. I couldn't keep water down within a twelve hour span of vomiting and having diarrhea. The weird thing? I got one avocado roll and one miso soup. That was it. So I had a case of cross contamination from whomever rolled my roll never washed their hands or it was being rolled in the same spot as something tainted. I need a fluid IV now and I had to pay money for this experience. I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy. read more

They gave us the bill when we just started to have a few pieces and they came back in about 5mins after that to ask if we were ready to pay, which made us feel like they wanted us go home right away even their restaurant was not busy. On a followup visit I decided to order some simpler items. After the great quality of the Uni don, was surprised about the rest of the menu items. The Karage is not karate but boneless wings. It even comes with ranch to dip the chicken. What a massive shock in this drop in quality. The Yakisoba shared in my party was also very disappointing. It was thr most plain Yakisoba I've eaten, and there's also missing ingredients. The Hamachi Kama was actually quite good, as well as the salmon skin salad. The salmon wasn't cold overly crispy skin, it appeared freshly made to eat with the salad. Overall, it seems if you are eatting here you might want to go for the more nicer items. read more
