Worst experience at a restaurant that I have encountered in a really long time. Customer service left a lot to be desired, was not greeted by anybody that came by the table. The worst part of the experience was nobody ever told us that the kitchen was closing or they never did a last call but after we ordered our appetizers they brought us our bill. At 9:20 PM (10 minutes before they close), we were kicked out of the restaurant without an opportunity to order the rest of our food. I thoroughly enjoy this restaurant the first time I tried it. I was excited to have it again and mobile ordered my food in and went to pick it up at the designated time and it wasn't ready. I talked to three of the waiters and they kept saying it was going to be ready but it wasn't, I had to wait an additional 25 minutes beyond the time it said it was ready. On top of that, I had requested no avocado in a roll because my friend is severely allergic and her roll had avocado in it despite my request. I am disappointed as I really enjoyed the food and environment, I understand it is busy but it could have easily been prevented. Hopefully next time is better. read more

This place seemed like a great choice at first. The inside is decorated with flowers and we were seated right away. We order our food and half of it came right away however we waited for the rest of our food for about 30 minutes. I asked about our food multiple times and each time they were "checking on it". I ended up leaving with out the rest of the food. I only got sea weed salad and one roll. Needless to say I won't be coming back. This place was fantastic! I brought my sister, family, and friends here to celebrate my sister's graduation from her school nearby. They were readily available for a table of seven, which I appreciate greatly. They were accommodating and patient with us as we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive (we were super tired and scattered from the ceremony). The food was amazing and so so very pretty. I chose this place because of the beautiful ambience and especially the cherry blossoms decorations. We had many dishes including the tempura udon, basic maki rolls, and several speciality rolls which were so flavorful and at a great value. My brother and friend got a roll that was literally on fire (the Viking)? Which tasted great and was fun for us to marvel at. The staff were super friendly and always making sure that we had plenty to drink and eat. The owner came by and personally checked in with us too which gave a great family feel. I was excited to support a new business, especially Japanese food. I ordered a couple of rolls, a udon, yaki soba and a dinner bento box combo. The rolls were decent n but I found it odd that I got packets of pickled ginger and wasabi versus the usually expected follow of each. The cooked food were tasty but I must say that the salt was very heavy handed. Please note that I like salt and believes it adds flavor but the food was WAY over salted. The udon soup base was VERY SALTY as were the salad dressing for the bento salad and the yaki soba. I've read some of the reviews posted here and it's been radio silence from the owners. I hope that the owners heed the feedback to the end of establishing a successful business. read more

Service is terrible. I come here a lot with my guy and we get this girl waitress most of the time who is rude as fuck. She is what you hear about when you go out with your significant other and she's nicer to the guy rather than the girl. I'm 23 years old. I don't write reviews all day long or even leave reviews when service is terrible but this has been a surprising couple of experiences. She took our orders and came out with the cucumber salad I ordered and set it down without a word. She then came back and I'm not even kidding, slammed the ginger and wasabi down without a word. Came back with my guy's ramen and said "do you need anything else? Maybe an extra bowl? He said he's good. She came back with my roll and came up from behind me and slid it in the table. She wasn't even in my sight when she slid it on the table. She came back with the check and we paid for it she came back with the card and faced my guy only and said "Thank you have a wonderful day guys". She is the only girl there that is a server and usually wears light gray skinny jeans. I come here pretty often and did not like how I've been treated these past 3 times. I'm going to call her out on the mistreatment I got from her and let her know that it's not okay and it didn't go unnoticed. Nothing mean, nothing nasty, just that I didn't appreciate it and it wasn't right and to call her out and to make sure no other couple experiences this. This is not a dramatic/jealous story, I am writing this down to the T on what literally happened. Watch out ya'll or she'll take your man lmao. Or at least try to piss you off for whatever reason. So it's Saturday night around 8 pm not busy at the restaurant at all. Ambience and aesthetics were beyond pleasing and me and my gf were looking forward to eating the new sushi spot down the block from our house hoping it would be better than big sky sushi. Well we were wrong....the menu didn't have all the items on it and some are discontinued, our drinks did come out fast however we waited to order our food for awhile. We ended up having to hit the server button provided on the table so they could take our order. A server comes and take the order and even repeats it to make sure it's correct. 20 minutes go by and not one appetizer has come out and the funny part is that three servers walk by us and never say anything or check on the food. Finally "our server" comes by and asks us if we ordered and we say yes with the other server and he asks us to repeat the order as we see him write it down, then he walks off lol I call him back and ask "did our food get put in?" He says no it didn't. End of story we left and unfortunately got Popeyes. Service is slow, no attention to guests, and cover it up with the grand opening environment of a new restaurant, only reason it has two stars is that they took my beer off the bill since I waited 25 minutes read more

As a sashimi and sushi lover, I always eat a Chirashi bowl (different kinds of sashimi pieces on top of white rice) whenever I first visit any Japanese restaurants. I had a chance to visit Sushiya in San Dimas CA when I was in Los Angeles, CA for my business trip in the early March 2022. My sister strongly recommended this restaurant, so I could not miss this one as a sushi lover. Of course, I ordered a Chirashi bowl as my first dish in Sushiya. Wow, It tasted great! All sashimi pieces are so tender and soft that it melted in my mouth. I also had some sushi pieces and some sashimi pieces from tuna belly which the restaurant owner recommended. They were awesome! In addition, beautiful lights resembling cherry blossoms and big ancient Asian calligraphic frames looked wonderful inside the restaurant. I highly recommend Sushiya when you have a chance to visit San Dimas, CA and look for a good Japanese restaurant in the Greater Los Angeles Areas. read more

Was told to visit this sushi restaurant by few friends that said it was their new favorite. The scenery inside is very clean and beautiful. I got two backed roles, a seared tuna and an eel roll, both were delicious and would rate some of my favorite rolls. The owner, I believe, came up to our table and told us a little about the restaurant and where their fish comes from, which was a great plus that felt genuine and welcoming.
