They have mini cupcakes, regular cupcakes, birthday cupcakes, cakes & cookies! They also had a display with samples! I bought birthday cupcakes for my son. They had three flavors chocolate, red velvet & vanilla. My total was $14 and some change, totally worth it! Super moist & delicious!!! The frosting OMG not overly sweet just perfect and it is also inside the cupcakes! Lady at the counter was nice she also wrapped my box in plastic wrap for freshness. I'll acknowledge, this review is only based on a single visit (and maybe vague) but I found the staff their very gregarious. Are their desserts good? Yeah, of course. I'm sure there are plenty of other reviews that will attest to that. I've only had a few of their items and I think they've got some amazing goods (witchcraft, magic or unicorn tears may be involved... who knows). Can I just say I'm in love with a pastry shop !? I stopped by to pick up my order from Pressed Juicery next door. If you are indecisive between juice and cakes, PLEASE CHOOSE CAKES! It is worth every single calorie!!! I was pleasantly greeted upon arrival, I was able to order quickly and samples were offered to me. Very much a convenient pastry shop! Since I was side tracked, I only ordered two mini cupcakes, (regretful) I should have ordered a dozen. Ordered one vanilla and one chocolate, chocolate was for my coworker who loves the color black. We bought our wedding cakes here, my husband loves all of their cupcakes that choosing them for our wedding was one of the easiest decision to make. They did lose our tasting appointment, but they made up for it by taking us in anyway and footing the bill for the tasting plus giving us other samples. Susie cakes is where I go for my cupcake cravings. They are always fresh and yummy. I love their red velvet and their chocolate cupcakes. I didn't know how much I love red velvet until I tried it here. What I love about them is they have mini cupcakes too if you're trying to watch what you eat. They have the same flavors as the regular sized ones. Other than cupcakes, they pretty much have a really large selection to choose from cakes, cookies, pies, etc. I've tried their cakes which are also yummy. I recommend the carrot cake. The only downside is parking sort of sucks here. They have meter parking but they're always taken. Good news is that they bring over your sweets for you while you're parked curbside if you order online or over phone. read more

I've been coming to Susie Cakes for 11 years and their cake is always amazing . This is my second year ordering my sons cake from this location and the last year Red Velvet was great . We got the large celebration cake this year and I had 20 + guest who took no more than 2 bites and tossed the cake . Unfortunately I tried a piece and it was dense, dry and overly sweet . Very disappointed. Will prob stick to red velvet if the recipe is still the same . 3 stars for customer service. The girls working there are really nice and accommodating. read more

Was that paradise I just tasted it? That's the only way to describe what I had when I walked into the shop. The confetti cake they had samples of were absolutely divine and if the girl at the counter went to the back it was a sure thing I would have eaten all of them on display. I don't think your allowed to do that though. When I was in there shopping, they put out more samples to try. I tried the lemon cupcake and it was also AMAZING! Five stars for the taste of the products in the store! I was going to a party later that day and I needed a cake. The small cakes were $36 (feeds 12 people) and when I wanted to add flowers, write happy birthday, and tax, the price was almost $50. They charge $5 for flowers, $3 to write happy birthday on the cakes, and $1 to write it on a cupcake. In fact I felt like they charge for everything, even a $1 to put a ribbon on a box. No wonder they give free samples! The service in the store is wonderful. I ended up buying a sugar cookie for myself which of course was delicious, and 4 cupcakes for the birthday girl for $20. The cupcakes already come in a box so I just had to pay a $1 for a piece of ribbon. The birthday girl Kenzie said they tasted good. So if you have the money then I think this is a great place to get a cake for a party, however if you aren't made of money like me, you can definitely afford a cupcake for yourself! At least that's my plan! Keep in mind parking is rough on the street, but you might be lucky enough to find parking in the back. read more

I can't speak for the other SusieCakes, but this one was awesome. When I came on a Monday night, it wasn't too crowded, but the cakes look fresher than ever. I got to sample the chocolate cake, which was rich and dense - just the way I like it. Being a greedy little kid, I couldn't help but buy slices of additional flavors. 1. The celebration cake tastes like childhood. Those birthday cakes with sprinkles from the 90's (I just gave away my age). Such a dense cake. 2. I also got the seasonal orange-cranberry cake. So moist and delicious! Love the fruity kick. This one is not as dense, but more moist. 3. Pecan pie: Tastes like Thanksgiving. It's not a big pie for the price, but it's the quality and attention to the subtle tastes that make this special. The things I didn't get almost killed me. I looked at the dozens of cupcakes, cookies, pies, and cakes and wanted to get them all. But alas, I was reminded that I am no longer 18 and that everything has consequences. read more

This SusieCakes is definitely less crowded than any other location I've ever gone to, but really this is a great thing because the girls that work here are so attentive. I came in recently to buy cupcakes for a friend's birthday and I asked an obsessive amount of questions and they were ridiculously helpful. I've been going to SusieCakes cakes for years and they've never disappointed me and my family. My favorite cakes are the luscious lemon cake & celebration cake. They're both very dense & moist. The lemon cake has a perfectly tart lemon curd inside and vanilla buttercream and sanding sugar on the outside that pair so well together. And some may think the celebration cake is just vanilla (pun intended) because of it's simplicity in cake and frosting flavor, but I've never heard complaints whenever I bring it to a gathering - only compliments. We've also had the red velvet, coconut & chocolate cakes and they haven't disappointed either. The cupcakes on the other hand, were just not as good as the cakes. Since they have some of the same flavored cupcakes as cakes I thought they'd be as good, but they just weren't as moist and flavorful as their cakes. But that's just my opinion. Other people love their cupcakes. As far as the cookies, all of them are delicious. The chocolate chip cookie and peanut butter cookie are our favorite. They also have dog cookies that smell like peanut butter. Our dog can't get enough of them! They don't always have them in stock so you should call ahead of time to check. If it's not available, they can take your order and will have it ready for you within the next day or two. Lastly, the customer service is fantastic. They're super friendly and helpful. Not only do they offer curbside service w/ same day pickup and follow-up to see how your cake order experience, they'll even go above and beyond for you. One time I had my pup with me, so they had someone meet me on the bench to take my order/payment and brought it out to me. Can't say enough good things about this bakery. read more

Ordered a cake online for my Professor. When he told me he was a fan on chocolate cake I knew exactly where I would get his cake. I ordered the 9 in 6-layer chocolate cake and everybody loved it! Even the people who weren't fans of chocolate. The cake is moist and is not too overwhelming. I definitely recommend the chocolate cake, just try out a slice and you'll see what I mean. The employee was also very friendly, I forgot his name. Parking was relatively easy, it's all street parking. I went in around 10 a.m. and only walked a short distance, however, they do have an option to park in front of the store and call their number (there is a sign that explains this) for someone to bring it out for you. read more

I got the red velvet and was expecting very moist cake especially with all the directions they gave me for eating it later. I was given some SusieCakes cupcakes as a birthday gift. I've been wanting to try them every since the location in Studio City opened, so I was pleasantly surprised. First up: the size. They are huge! I would say a tad bigger than Sprinkles Cupcakes. A little too large for my liking. Next: the frosting. AMAZING. Super creamy texture and not too thick (which I hate). The cream cheese on the red velvet was good, but then I had the buttercream on the vanilla and my life was changed forever. Last: the cake. The cake wasn't as moist as I would like, but I love that it wasn't crumbly at all. I hate when my cupcake falls apart, and that would never happen to a Susie cakes cupcake. OMG YUM!!!! SusieCakes is seriously the best bakery in the valley. I personally prefer the cookies over the cupcakes, but it is still totally worth it to go. I have been to 2 different locations (Studio City & Topanga) and still have had consistent wonderful experience with staff and quality of treats. Prices are great for those huge cookies! Cookies to try: Chocolate Chip! I could seriously eat 5 a day! Snicker Doodles and the Whoopie Pie! Parking: Parking is HORRIFIC at this location since it is street parking and a very small shared lot with pressed juicery and other businesses in the tiny plaza next to it. This review is based on the customer service . It's my birthday so I wanted to grab a slice or two of cake. The la brea location is closed, so I thought I'd drive to the Ventura Blvd location. I called ahead and talked to a fellow named Jimmy, I asked if they had cake slices available, he assured they did and had all flavors. I told him I'd be there by 4:45 and he said no problem. When I got there, they told me they had no slices. I spoke to jimmy who was there , he said didn't remember or didn't want to admit he spoke to me. The 5 mins they spent arguing, they could of easily packed two slices of cake to go, it hadn't even been packed away ... how lazy can you be. Just admit you made a mistake and move on read more

BEST WEDDING CAKE EVER! Thank you to Pricilla & Cameron! Our wedding was on April 1 and we got the Tropical Pineapple Cake with coconut buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream on the outside. Even the people who don't care for coconut loved it! The cake was fresh and moist with the perfect balance between dense and fluffy. The cake was beautiful and tasty and affordable. I had a lot of compliments from everyone about having a wedding cake that was actually delicious and beautiful. (We have the top tier in the freezer for our first anniversary.) The one thing you HAVE TO REMEMBER (and the reason this isn't a five star rating) is that they do not set up the cake for you. They have a 3rd party delivery company deliver the cake (extra charge). You need to make sure you have your own cake stand and make sure someone at the reception venue will set up the cake. They will not even take it out of the box. They were clear that they didn't provide the cake stand and wouldn't put the topper on or make the table look nice, but I was surprised that they don't even set it out on the stand. read more
