The space itself is chic and impossibly cute, a mini cafe that feels like a hidden boutique find, quaint in all the right ways. The croissants are the genuine article: buttery, flaky layers with that perfect golden exterior that only comes from someone who truly knows what they're doing. Every pastry here is crafted with care and it shows in every bite. And the mocha coffee? That alone is worth the trip. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, it pairs beautifully with anything in the pastry case. The staff are warm and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel personal rather than transactional. One thing to keep in mind: this is not a drive-through. It's a small owner-operated cafe where everything is made with intention. Come with time to spare, settle in, and let the experience unfold. Good things take time, and here that philosophy is baked right into everything they do. Yes, prices lean a bit higher than your average coffee shop, but this is quality you can taste. You're paying for authentic French technique that honors the tradition. La Princière is a Thousand Oaks treasure worth every unhurried minute.

I found this spot online and headed over and Im glad I did. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by the owners, husband and wife team who immediately made me feel welcome. They were eager to walk me through the menu, offered great suggestions, and were incredibly patient while my brain was still waking up at 9am lol. Their kindness and humor made me feel right at home. This place also feels homey. If you take a moment to look around, you'll notice the personal touches such as the artwork, photos, and thoughtful details that tell a story of their family. Okay Now to get to the good stuff the drinks and bites are stellar, here's what I got: I finally found a seriously addicting chai here in the 805. I'm very picky about chai, so when Robin insisted "you're trying this" so I listened and I'm so glad I did haha. Freshly brewed, no artificial flavors, perfectly spiced. I think I would dub this one of the BEST chai's I've ever had. 10/10. Their classic breakfast bites hit the spot too. I had a breakfast sandwich with crispy bacon and a fresh egg. Simple but good. I'd get this again but also would be open to trying some of their other bites. 8/10. The handmade bakery section here was unreal. The apple pastry I ordered was pure nostalgia and absolutely delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more of their daily baked goods. The selection was huge and lots of different options to try. I think their passionfruit pastry will be calling my name next time. Lastly I leave you with a Fun fact: if you're a football fan or into chess, this is your cafe. Chess tables are available for playing at and it's the perfect morning spot to catch matches over coffee and pastries. Liverpool fans especially welcome here ;) Sorry it took me so long to find this spot but they've got a new fan now!

I ordered the vanilla latte with oat milk, and it did not disappoint. Their house-made vanilla syrup gave the latte a rich, creamy flavor that was absolutely delicious. While I was there, Mayra had just pulled a fresh batch of matcha cinnamon rolls out of the oven, and I'm so glad I gave one a try--it was warm, soft, and incredible. I really hate to do this but our experience was really disappointing…read more I was looking around for local bake shops & bakers, other than the popular Bundt or Arleens, because we wanted something special for my friends birthday. I found Cake and Love, saw the reviews and thought "why not?" I love supporting local small businesses. I knew the designs weren't up to par compared to other places, however I read that the cakes tasted really good. My friend Marc ordered them and requested 4 cupcakes but the owner said she could only do a dozen. The design requested for the cupcakes was to write the name on 4 and the rest with birthday + Halloween designs. And he ordered four different flavors. She had a week to prepare and offered to drop them off. Not only was she an hour late, but she practically rushed off without giving us a chance to look at the cupcakes to check them. You can only imagine our disappointment when we opened the box. It looked absolutely terrible, rushed and as if a child decorated these. These cupcakes were for an adult. The taste was just ok too. The chocolate cakes were mushy, the red velvet were dry and the other two were 'eh.' It was too late to find something else so we sucked it up and used them to sing happy birthday anyway. Regardless if there was any mis-communication, this is not acceptable. And I feel that we deserve a refund.

We have been patrons for years, and whenever we have a celebration, this is always one of the places we consider. Our favorite is their wild berry yogurt cake, but we have also tried some of their other cakes, including the tiramisu, and have enjoyed them all. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. I recently picked up a birthday cake and had the birthday message written on a chocolate sheet. The whole process took only a few minutes, which was especially convenient. Their cakes come in small, medium, and large sizes. The larger sizes can sell out, so if you need a medium or large cake, it's probably best to order ahead. I also grabbed a single serving of the blueberry cheesecake, which was light, airy, and still decadently satisfying--definitely worth every spoonful. The rum babas were a standout: bite-sized, soaked in Jamaican rum, filled with Chantilly cream, and topped with a raspberry. So flavorful and unique--each bite was indulgent without being too heavy. And then there was the Velina cake... oh my goodness. A beautiful sponge layered with chocolate mousse and hazelnut mousse, all covered in a glossy dark chocolate glaze. It was so rich and decadent that I had to slow myself down just to fully enjoy every bite. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully made, and worth the drive. I'd absolutely come back again.

It's too bad that this review is only listed under bakeries because there's so much more here. The bakery items are wonderful. My personal favorites are the little individual tiramisu and their chocolate covered coconut balls, which I've never seen any place else. They're huge! All the routine pastries are available and freshly made, as well as as a couple Persian delicacies. Try the cream puffs! But what I also love about this place is their breakfasts. Some of the local breakfast places get too crowded with long rating lines but here you can be seated in a covered shaded area outside or Next door at the restaurant that they're attached to. Some of my favorites are their omelettes and scrambles, and although I can probably make those myself at home, they somehow make them taste better than any place else. I particularly like the vegetable omelette. Of course they have a tasty avocado toast that seems to be a local favorite. The eggs Benedict are perfectly prepared and the.Challah French toast is definitely worth breaking a diet over and what is an excellent breakfast without a great cup of coffee? You can get that here including American coffee, cappuccino, espresso, and even Turkish coffee. I love this place! They have done a really good job with the patio and I could see that getting really busy, it wasn't the day we were there as it was a colder day. I ordered the avocado toast that came with a couple of poached eggs and the side I got was a cup of barley soup, my wife ordered the french toast with a side of bacon . The quality of the food was excellent in both cases, tasted good although I felt my food was on the colder side for sure when we finally got it and it was very plain; food took a while considering they weren't that busy. The service was good but not excellent, our waiter came back to check on us once when I thought maybe I caught his eye . I think there's definitely some room for improvement but it won't hold me from coming back... I will definitely give it another try; footnote- a lot of their ingredients are organic and of what I understand they bake all of their bread and pastry items in house. definitely worth a try.
