I would to give a 3.5 star rating. They aren't cutie 4, but 3 seems too low. This is a solid fast food Thai restaurant. They had a good version of Tom Kha soup, a little watery for my liking but the spice level was great. The drunken noodle was really good. Great texture, good cook, you can pick your spice level, a solid dish. The restaurant is clean but a bit cold in decor and a little chilly temperature wise to boot. The staff was very attentive to our beverages and very pleasant. The food did not seem overly oily either, so that was a plus. I would honestly go here again when I am in the Dallas area. read more

My first experience at Sweet Rice was extremely pleasant. The staff were friendly, extremely helpful, and just a joy to talk to. Now for the food, everything I ordered was prepared fresh! That's huge. I ordered the chicken and shrimp spring rolls, separate, and both were delicious. The Pad Woon Sen was super good. It's a lighter noodle I believe made of vegetable, and I went for level 3 heat which was perfect heat for my taste. I wouldn't recommend going 3 if you're sensitive to spice. The portions were large as well, so much so that I had leftovers the next day and it was great after reheating, too! 2 meals for the price of one and the price was super fair! Sweet Rice is a trendy fast-food style of Laotian and Thai cuisine. The facility is new and the place looks clean. We were there for lunch. We found the food to be good and worthy of coming back to try other dishes. We had the Thai-style Papaya Sala, as oppose to the Laotian-style version of the same dish, which was tangy and had good flavor. We also had the pork egg rolls, which were hot and crispy, but I confess there really isn't much difference taste-wise between the vegetarian version and the pork version.........that is my subjective opinion. And finally, we shared the Penang Curry, which is a sweet red curry with chicken. I found this dish to be very tasty, but would have preferred brown rice but not for an extra $3.00 as a substitution. The food we ordered to go was inedible (about an inch of water in both the beef and broccoli dish as well as the sesame chicken plus no flavor to either dish) however the main reason I'm writing this is due to negative customer service. When I called to explain the issues with the food, the person I spoke to (not sure who she was as she never gave her title) told me that the food could not have been bad because "no one has ever complained" about the food before. She argued with me over the phone and was extremely frustrated about the feedback. It just didn't need to be that way. If she couldn't give me a refund, she could have just said that wasn't possible yet instead she argued with me for several minutes telling me I was wrong. While a partial refund was eventually given (which I appreciate) it just was such a negative interaction that ended in her hanging up the phone on me. My friend and I ended up having to go get food at another restaurant to be able to eat dinner. The food being inedible was bad, but the customer service was worse. Sorry to say this because I wanted to like this place based on the other reviews here, however I would like to spare others from a negative experience. read more
