Surprised this is my first time at this Sweetgreen location. I stopped by earlier this afternoon to grab my usual order of KALE CAESAR SALAD before a long bus ride. The portion size is smaller than usual and the salad didn't really fill the whole bowl (or that close to it). Also felt like there wasn't a whole lot of chicken either. Excellent salads, friendly and efficient service. Salad lovers in Rosslyn are currently spoiled for choice, with Sweetgreen, Cava, Chop't, Roti and Simple Greek all offering viable options. Of those, Sweetgreen is my fave. Sweetgreen distinguishes itself from the others by offering a wide variety of super-fresh healthy ingredients, salads based on a range of different ethnic cuisines (as opposed to just a single one, like Simple Greek, Cava or Roti), and proteins that are served warm and juicy. Contrast that with, say, the chicken at Chop't, which is served cold and dry, and you'll see why the former is more satisfying. Of the salads I've tried, the Harvest is one of my favorites. It's a delicious blend of mildly sweet apples, nutty wild rice, roasted almond, warm & juicy chicken, kale and other ingredients. The warm chicken and wild rice help to make the bowl more satisfying than the cold salads other places serve up. The chicken pesto parm is another winner. Spinach, broccoli, tomato, parmesan cheese and chicken, all topped by piquant pesto and spicy tomato sauces, a tasty salad indeed. Ditto for the corn elote bowl, with its arugula, goat cheese, roasted corn, tomatoes, chicken and lime vinaigrette. I've been here quite a few times, and on each visit, the staff have always been friendly, efficient and courteous. It's clear that they're well-trained, and that, even though Sweetgreen is a casual place, it takes customer service seriously. Love that we have Sweetgreen as an option in Rosslyn. It's a homegrown, local chain, so if you like supporting local businesses, come on out and give them a try! read more

Love that they ask you how much dressing you like. Salads come with a slice of a nice, hearty bread. Tried the ginger/lime fresca, too- very good. I'm rarely disappointed whenever I have a meal at Sweetgreen, and this was no exception. I came here for dinner around 9 pm and it was empty, and parking was easy to find right in front (but it was also rainy). Inside, there are a lot of tables/chairs, although I imagine this place gets super busy during the lunch rush hour. We got salads to eat-in, and I normally always get them to go. Here, the salads for dining in seemed larger than normal and I couldn't even finish the whole thing. My hot curry chickpea salad made great leftovers for lunch the next day, since kale and arugula hold up pretty well with the dressing without getting too soggy. I've tried almost all of the different salads and bowls here, and the hot curry chickpea one that I got here was delicious. Healthy, with protein from the chickpeas and quinoa, filling and delicious. I could eat (and probably do) at Sweetgreen at least once a week. This is close to the Metro and opens late on weekdays (until 10 pm). I think the serving sizes are larger than other similar places to this (Chopt Salad and Little Beet), prices are comparable (about $10-12 for a salad), and the ingredients are fresh. read more

Counter staff customer service sub par. My salad maker needed lots of help from other staff to put my standard off the menu salad together and work the register. Perhaps it was her first day. I love this place! Similar to Chop't, except they just mix your ingredients and dressing in a bowl instead of chopping it up. I tried their pesto portobello ($10.10) grain bowl and it was delicious! If I could order this every day I would..it's that good. It also came with a piece of bread which was nice and they give water cups. Street parking it available right outside of the restaurant which was convenient..if you're able to score a spot! This location had both indoor and outdoor seating and was playing loud, party type of music which I am not sure fit the vibes of a salad lunch place but I sat outside and enjoyed my bowl there! read more

This sweetgreen in Rosslyn is usually packed from 11:30-1pm. The wait is soooo long unless you go outside of the lunch rush hours. My rating is 3 stars because of how long the wait is. The staff at this location don't have a great system for serving up the food. Would recommend that the staff copy Ford's assembly line method instead of one person doing the entire salad. It's very inefficient and I think that would help with the wait time. The salad's at this place are always great, but this location is a little slow. read more

Unfortunately, it seems Sweetgreen Rosslyn has taken a bit of a dive. The portions are smaller, the store hours reduced, and the staff has completely changed. There used to be an amazing staff that has mysteriously left. The new folks don't seem half as personable or positive. I find myself going to Chopt across the street more often now. read more

I never feel satiated by salads but Sweet Green is the exception. I ordered one of their seasonal salads and was taken off guard by how great it was! I got the Spring Burrata + Green Goddess Salad, which cost about $11 after tax. It definitely left me feeling satisfied for lunch and I feel like I'll be hungry just in time for dinner. I can't reiterate how amazing this salad was--one of the best I've had from anywhere in a while. My only complaints are the pricing for so little food and the fact that when I ordered online for pickup at 1pm I had to wait a little bit for them to actually bring my salad out, and it looked like a lot of people were in the same boat as me because there was a pretty large crowd waiting near the shelves they bring their online orders to. I would definitely recommend still getting the online order (the line was almost out the door), but showing up 5/10 minutes after your online order is supposed to be ready if you don't have time to wait. It is actually more spacious than some of their other locations, they probably could fit a few more tables if they wanted to. There are also several tables outside which is nice. It would be nice if the seats inside had cushions, but that goes with all sweetgreen locations. I get it, the place is fast casual, many people get their bowls/salads to go. This is my first time going to a sweetgreen because, typically, I don't like to spend $10 on salads but I was actually pretty blown away with how much I liked it and will totally willingly and happily go back (silent gasp in my head). I went around 12:30pm on a Wednesday and the place was packed. The line was about 20 people long and I debated waiting because I figured it would take 30 minutes to get through it (I am now realizing my outlook was very negative to begin with.....) but, alas, I waited. And it only took like SEVEN minutes to get to the front. Wow. Amazing. Already sold. Looking at the menu I didn't see a salad or warm bowl that included what exactly I had in mind, so I went with a custom warm bowl. I got quinoa, kale, avocado, chicken, feta, pine nuts and a pesto dressing. They also ask if you want bread with it at the end and you should always say yes. My total was about $11. Y'all. This salad was SO GOOD. The warm quinoa really added something great, and the pesto dressing was DELICIOUS. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I have gone to sweet green many times and usually, I am very pleased. However, yesterday I ordered a salad as I normally do, went to pick it up, and brought it back to my office. Upon opening the salad I realized my order was first of all incorrect (sometimes ingredients run out, I understand, but I was not notified). The real issues came when I was eating the salad and bit down on a piece of PLASTIC!!!!! I was startled by such a hard object in my salad and knew it was not kale... After nearly choking on this hazard I was able, in the most graceful (kinda gross) manner possible remove it from my mouth but was pretty scared to have another bite of the salad in fear of experiencing another bite of that ever so nutritious plastic! Where do I begin?! Sweetgreen is an amazing new addition to Rosslyn! The staff here is so kind and patience, which Is key as most of the customers always have a question or two. The place is clean and the staff does a great job making sure the line keeps on moving! I always make my own salad but my friends who got the ones on the menu loved theirs and it looked good. One of my favorite parts of Sweetgreen is how the chicken, quinoa, chickpeas, etc are kept warm! This makes a huge difference in the taste and makes your salad much more delicious and savory. Make sure to try their drinks and pick up a slice of free bread before leaving. Thank you to the staff at Sweetgreen, I'm looking forward to my next visit! read more

I like the salads here a lot. However, I cannot take Sweetgreen seriously because they don't accept cash. That may not seem like a big deal to most people, but I only use cash for incidentals (i.e. lunches at work). I am aware of the rationale they use for not doing so - speeds up the line, "eco-friendly," whatever - but shouldn't ease to your customer be king? There should be a large sign on the door that states this policy so you won't make the mistake I made of getting all the way up to the register and then having my jaw drop as an employee states that they do not accept United States legal tender. Technically they can do this as there is no Virginia state law that says otherwise, but I think it's very poor business practice and puts people in an uncomfortable situation. I'm lucky I had a card I *could* use, but some people legitimately don't. read more

I visited Sweetgreen today at 4 pm for a late lunch. I was one of two customers in the restaurant. Three employees were standing around the register; two of the employees made eye contact with me but did not offer to assist or acknowledge my presence. After several minutes of uncomfortable waiting, I left the restaurant. I frequent this Sweetgreen occasionally although it's just as easy to visit one of the three similar restaurants within the same block. My previous visits were closer to the 12-2 lunch rush, the staff is always attentive and friendly. Perhaps Sweetgreen should consider installing self ordering kiosks, the afternoon staff can use assistance. read more

Couldn't tell you how great the salad was because the delivery man first could not find my address and when I went to find him he took off with my lunch. I contacted Sweetgreen who informed me that deliveries are a new service for them and they will let their leadership know about the kinks. Nice. In the meantime I wasted 45 minutes looking for the delivery man and texting Sweetgreen because they do not give the option of speaking with someone on the phone. If you have time to waste playing "when and if my food gets here" then you won't be disappointed. I recommend finding someplace else to order from - plenty of places in Virginia who make a point of being reliable. read more

Another one of my favorite lunch spots and I am glad that they opened across Chop't. Their app is also very handy and similar to Starbucks in terms of doing a mobile order and picking it up which is nice. I've had a few salads (Kale Caesar and Hummus Tahina) there and I must say I enjoyed them all. Even there vegan options on the menu are really good too! I always get torn in deciding between the Shroomami or the Spicy Sabzi. The only downside which doesn't bother me too much is they don't take cash but that's for all their locations so FYI. read more

Went there tonight (Opening Day) and got my go-to SweetGreen salad: Harvest Bowl, and it was delicious as usual. There was also no line (note: to expedite customers, they don't take cash). Three of us were being served Harvest Bowls and they said they ran out of goat cheese, but were quickly able to prepare more (they even recommended a backup cheese, which was also delicious, but before I was done sampling it the goat cheese was ready.) So glad to see this establishment in Rosslyn - and surprised to see its wide range of hours; 10:30 - 10pm or something like that. I'll be coming in for breakfast (they have some salads, like a Strawberry-focused one, that would be suitable, I think), lunch, and dinner :) read more

This location has some growing pains. Coming from someone who has frequented the well-established Mosaic SG for years now, Rosslyn is just disappointing, one salad after another. Over the last few months, my tofu is often over cooked, and my salads are often not mixed well. Tonight we ordered 3 salads including my husband's hummus tahina which was only 3/4 full. My shroomami's quinoa was not cooked and crunched in every bite. Resulting in my stomach aching horribly, driving me to right this review. Our bread was also very stale. There's definitely corner cutting happening somewhere. The two stars are for how clean the place looks, they do a good job there. Hopefully SG takes a look and gets their Rosslyn employees on track.
