Swift Creek could never do me wrong in my heart. I've been a few times prior to writing this and I've always enjoyed my meal. I enjoy how they change their menu a few times a year and serve their family's coffee (check out their story on their website), it also seems to be family run and operated. I had the biscuits and gravy this time around with scrambled eggs and it was delicious. The one downside is that it's a small cafe, not too many tables. It's not hard to get a table during the week before 9 am, but there will most likely be a wait if you're going on the weekend after 8:30 am. read more

For a twist, I added the homemade jam to the breakfast sandwich - perfect combo of salty and sweet. Omg. THE FOOD. Beyond delicious. We came here for lunch as a larger group. No alcohol so if your looking for a boozy breakfast not the place BUT the food is so good it doesn't even matter. Food was awesome. Staff was super kind and helpful. Cool ambiance, different than your typical mom and pop breakfast place. More upbeat and cool. Music was energizing and fun. Small setting so plan ahead to wait especially if you have a party larger than 2. The Turkish eggs breakfast entree was so fresh and not heavy at all. I hate feeling that heavy feeling after breakfast and this was a perfect size and such great tastes on the plate. The banana pineapple pancake was amazing. Stopped in a whim after fishing at the lake. Not a very expansive menu and mostly breakfast food. I was pleasantly surprised with my basic breakfast. Ordered poached eggs which came out seasoned with a little chili oil, coffee rye toast, bacon and taters with a cup of coffee. They also had butter and homemade raspberry jam, toast came dry. The chili oil really made a difference in poached eggs and was lightly spicy. The bread was homemade and with the homemade raspberry jam, was so good that I ordered another piece and got wheat bread to try. The taters were seasoned well and not bland like most restaurants. The coffee... was a damn good cup of Joe. If we weren't in our way out and also staying 20 miles away, I'd hit this spot again. read more

We went in, had to go find someone to let them know we were there. A few minutes later they seated us. We ordered two breakfasts and coffee. Had to ask another waitress to get my coffee when they gave us the orders. No silverware, had to ask for it. No jam or jelly, had to ask for it and they were out of it? Waitress was too busy talking to other waiter to even come by and check on us. Food was Ok. With so many other restaurants in the area, will not be going back. Wonderful, prompt service and fresh ingredients! We enjoyed breakfast before our flight home on Monday morning. We got there about 9:15 and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. We enjoyed coffee, lemon ricotta pancakes and French omelette with fresh herbs, Ham and gruyere and home fries. Great service and delicious. Pretty good food. Our table was off-kilter and with 2 little kids who are constantly bumping the table, it drove us nuts. We got the egg scramble and the $12 hash and 2 kid pancakes. The restaurant is pretty small, and trying to get out of my seat, i bumped not only our table but also bumped my neighbor's bucket of silverware with my bum... and I'm not an obese person. We've eaten here many times over the years and sometimes we have good meal, occasionally the quality is not so great, but the last time we ate here was straight up terrible. We ordered the hash and the huevos rancheros. They were both so sad looking on the plate like they were just thrown on and missing ingredients, and they tasted even worse. The potatoes were soaked in oil, luke warm, and had a strong flavor of an unclean griddle. The most I've ever tasted a griddle. The hash was supposed to come with hollandaise sauce on it but all they put was the tiniest little smear of it randomly on the plate next to unappetizing thrown together chunks of meat and potatoes. We were trying to be nice and didn't feel the need to point out that the meal was missing the hollandaise sauce, so instead we asked for a side ramekin of it and the server said "oh I think we ran out, there's not even enough in the container to scrape out". This might cause one to wonder why they are still serving this meal if they ran out of an ingredient. The eggs is both meals were runny to the point that all the whites were raw, and the toast was also oily and soggy and tasted like the griddle. My partner and I both worked in food service most of our lives so typically don't like to leave reviews at all because we understand how hard restaurant work is and that businesses like this are subject to a lot of criticism, but this experience was above and beyond. It's a shame when you can't count on a restaurant for a consistently decent meal, and that the server clearly didn't care at all. Waste of $50 on a breakfast that made us both feel sick. Update: The owner contacted us directly and offered to fully refund the meal, was interested in our feedback and said they were going to address it with their staff, and was very apologetic and nice. We had breakfast here on their first day of reopening after a break to remodel. This is a very homey and comfortable place. The owner (Guillermo) stooped at each table to ensure everything was to your satisfaction. They serve the standard fair but with very unique twists. It was absolutely fantastic. The food was good, except for the burnt grilled cheese sandwiches that 2 of the kids got. The problem is with the seating, they have no system. Our party arrived and checked in before two other groups and they seated the other two groups before ours, even though we said we were fine with splitting up our party. I even went in and pointed out an empty table and a 6 top that was about to be finished and asked if we could be seated at those two places and was told "certainly". They proceeded to sit a couple that had literally just walked in (after we had been waiting 10 minutes) at one of the tables I pointed out. Then sit a group of 4 that came right after us and when we finally sat down, we waited and waited for the server to take our order. I have to say when I read reviews like the one I just wrote (and you can check and see that I have never written a bad review), I am skeptical because the first thought that comes to my mind is that the reviewer is just grumpy and having a bad day, but I assure you this is not the case with us. Went into Swift Creek to have breakfast around 1000. Usually they have really good food and service. When we walked in the music was so loud we could almost not hear each other sitting at a table talking to each other. Then the food. Everything was over done. The over easy egg was more like a fried hard. The pancake was crispy around the edges. The bacon was so cooked it fell apart. A place that is usually spot on had a bad day perhaps and we will give it another chance. We have heard from other people the food has been spotty lately so maybe it depends upon what cook. read more

We were lucky enough to stumble upon Swift Creek Cafe while killing time in Whitefish. Ben was a super waiter with a great attitude and did a wonderful job taking care of our table of 6. The chicken biscuit serves with an herbs honey was so beautiful that I almost took a picture of it but it was too good and I ate it up! My DH ordered the Rueben sandwich and it was the best Rueben sandwich I've ever eaten in my life. They brine their pastrami for 9 days. It's so juicy and delicious. Quaint little place nicely appointed. Staff is hit or miss. The lady that waited and took our order was less than pleasant with a scowl on her face as if she was bothered by our presence. The guy who sat and checked us out was pleasant as could be. We both had The Gourmand which was delicious on fresh sourdough with ample amounts of bacon. Opt for the chips because the greens consist of two handfuls of arugula with nothing else no dressing nada. The corn chowder is fabulous.
