They assured me they would be finished with my $65,000.00 project before I left the country for 7 months, they were't. They continued to work on the pavers and turf, they sent me pictures of the completed project, but WAIT! It was photoshopped to show there was NO seam down the middle of my turf...good thing my neighbor sent one that wasn't altered. Now, I am returning home in three weeks and they are suddenly pushing for the rest of the payment, as they say it's completed. I don't trust them, and said I will pay the last $11k when I see that it's finally been done correctly, so they've threatened to put a lien on my house. Great company. NOT. read more

Not a great experience. We are a busy couple who went to them knowing they would charge more than if we were the 'general' ourselves. We also wanted help with the design and realize that costs money too. The problem is they draw up great designs but do a poor job of making sure you understand what is NOT included, as well as refuse to itemize the job in writing like every other contractor in the world. They just plain stay evasive with details on the work and pricing, its part of their sales training I assume. Make sure you demand the price and scope of work In writing before moving forward. See pics for our 'design' they gave us vs. what we received for $33k. We then spent another $12k on irrigation, landscape, and grass. (All of which I thought was included per the drawings.) Here's one for the books. Over a year ago I had system pavers put in a beautiful back and side yard with pavers. We didn't have much rain that year but when we did I noticed the water wasn't draining that good. It wasn't until I retired that I had the time to investagate. I found out it wasn't draining the way it should and was thinking it could have been a fitting about 3' away for the drain that maybe wasn't glue or just slipped off. (because of a 45 degree turn it did there) I called system pavers and a guy came out and said I'll get back to you with the price. He called and said it would be $800.00 and I said no thanks (I thought I could fix it in about an hour if that was the problem. He called back later and said if you want it done cheeper he could do it on the side for less. I thought that was a little suspicious so I said no thanks. He called back again and said system pavers could do it for free. Now what am I supposed to think? I said no thanks because it was getting a little weird by now. I went to Home Depot and bought one of those expansion bulb hose attachment for $6.00 and blew the clog out in about 5 minutes. Just thought I should share this story. read more

To meeting the Quality Control Trainer, Alex Paez a young, knowledgeable, and very professional young man. He was so helpful, always available to answer all our questions with such a positive attitude. My husband and I were very impressed with this young man and his work ethics. We knew we were in good hands. During the process I had some billing questions. I called in and spoke with, Kim. Kim was very detailed and explained all our options thoroughly. We contracted with System Pavers in August of 2020 for a project that included pavers, artificial grass, and up lights. We were very happy with the results and continue to be happy today. We recently experienced an issue with the up lights. We lost the Bluetooth connection to the controller and could not get it back. I called System Pavers to see if they could help. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Steve Whittaker, the Sales Manager for my 2020 project was still there, and he promptly scheduled a service request. Oscar Gallardo came to my house and within 15 minutes fixed the issue. He replaced my controller with a new model, set me up with a new iPhone app, and made sure it fixed the issue. I asked him how much I owe, and I was shocked to hear there was no charge. It is not often you find a company that does a great job on the front end when performing on a new project, but it is rare to find a company that performs great service on the back-end years after. What I liked: - The salesman were very through with their presentation. - Their visual renderings were nice. - Project manager (Sam) was always available for calls/texts and the salesman was available by email and calls. He was always personable and willing to work with me. - They provide you with a lot of information. - The work crew who comes out is completely AWESOME! They work hard and are very courteous! They actually helped my neighbors with the trash cans because they were sorta blocking the way on the first day. These guys went out of their way to make sure my neighbors were the least impacted by my project! - Work crew cleaned up SUPER nice! These guys work super hard and I wish I could have been there to serve them lunch! -Everyone at system pavers was very nice. What I didn't like: - There was not much I didn't like. - When issues arose I was able to get a hold of someone to clear things up and I'm happy about that. - contractual agreement stated that we were to set the pavers at 45 degree angles. I got 90 degree angles instead (but system pavers assured me that this would still be covered by their 25 year warranty). - was suppose to get something in writing about the job that was done but never heard back from anyone. Overall we were happy with our job. The backyard looks great and the drainage works flawlessly so far. The only issue I had was that things were installed a little differently than we contractually agreed upon. System pavers did a great job at clearing things up for me and let me know that anything the work crew did was covered because they collect information in regards to depth of the pavers, take pictures, etc. We are happy with the look of the yard and we are happy that System Pavers will cover our job for 25 years. read more

I recently contracted System Pavers to redo do my front sidewalk, front porch, and back yard. I can not say enough about the final result and the process throughout. I had a little trouble with the original meeting getting the salesman to understand how I like to think out my home projects and how I need process things when I do business. After a bad first expression, he asked if he could have another chance. I am glad I gave it to him. The second time we met it went the way I needed it to go and I was in charge and not rushed. The salesman Charlie spent the needed time to make me feel secure in the product and investment I was making. The web site was very interactive and easy to understand after I signed my contract. My construction manager was Wade. He communicated with me daily. He took all my concerns and addressed them with the construction team. The workmen were great! They cleaned up everything and were very careful not to cause any damage to my stucco siding or plants. Every issue I had they addressed before they left the worksite and had me sign off. The best part was being able to use credit card to get the bonus miles. I am hoping I do not need the 25 year warranty but glad I have it that is another reason I chose them over local contractor. They left me plenty of extra pavers in case of any future damage so they will match perfectly. Of course I wish it wasn't as expensive but the local contractors quoted me the same price for concrete only, so I felt I got a much better value going with them and doing pavers. I was very impressed with this company to start, their response time and customer service was great. I believe it was Randy that came out to my home. He took his time to speak with me, hear my requests and was very patient and friendly. He took pictures of my backyard, took measurements and I even allowed that he take photos of the blue prints for my upcoming addition to show the space he would have to work with. Well that was in August and the last time I spoke with him. I've called the company and left at least 4 messages for Randy and spoken with two different women that said they would make sure he called me back. It's very unfortunate to do business in that way. I had a few small items over the last couple of years that I just did not seem to find the time to address. I contacted System Pavers for and they responded quickly. Manager Daniel contacted me, understood my concerns and arrived on time to take a look. His install crew lead by Jonathan arrive on the scheduled date, were professional, kept me informed and cleaned up after they were done. Wade Capps (Project Manager) and Juan Carlos (team leader) did a fantastic job on installing a patio and replacing our front walkway. They arrived on time, and worked quickly and efficiently. Every member of the team knew what to do, and they hardly needed to talk. The job was estimated to take up to 5 days, but was done in a day and a half. The job really looks great. Every block installed on a curve was perfectly cut to fit snugly and perfectly. They paid attention to detail, and did little things that were beyond what I expected. This review is for free estimate / sales only. The "designer" showed up on time, was very nice, and eager to get the estimate started. While she was doing her measuring, she had us watch a video about the company, testimonials, and what they had to offer us. She took a picture of our yard as it looks now, then downloaded to her computer program to show us what our patio would look like when it was done. This was very nice to see. Now comes the fun part, price. We had 3 prior estimates so we knew what we were in for. Well this one was the absolute highest. When we told her it was too high, she came back with all the offers; free demolition, yard signage, video testimonial, and using our before and after to advertise. Of course we said yes to all, but it still didn't get us down to where we wanted. She then compared their 25 year warranty to the other companies we had spoken to. She also told us that we will get what we pay for, System-Pavers does million dollar contracts, and they won't do the work if there isn't a drain installed. Whoa, wait, what? A drain supposedly run from our patio to the street so there is no standing water. So now we understand why the estimate is so high. All the bells and whistles of a computer program showing us before and after and repair on our property for this drain that needs to be run. In the end, we decided not to sign the contract she so wanted to pressure us into signing since the price was only good for that day. As she put all of her equipment away and continued to build up her company and tell us how wrong we are in not agreeing to the terms, do you think there was a "thank you" or a handshake for our time? DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE A POOL! Not sure why 15 month into my project I'm still surprised by lack of professionalism, but that's been par for the course. Plan to spend additional money based on bait and switch from sales guy's proposal to what project manager says can be done, unless you spend more to get the originally proposed vision. Also plan to pay for lots of repairs to stuff they break and don't fix. 4 day project took 6 weeks. After 6 weeks stones started shifting. Repair team came quickly and asked why a lot of short cuts were taken during the initial project. They seemed to address all structure issues (except for the fact that the patio drains into, instead of away from the pool, so it fills with sand when it rains), but again left pool full of sand and refused to fix sprinkler system they broke making the repairs to the shifting stones. Worst major project we've ever had done and would never do it again with this company. Haven't worked with someone I felt has our best interested in mind in the 15 months we've been fighting with them. read more

Having been a superintendent for a world wide building Contractor Skanska USA. I would be embarrassed to have these people as a subcontractor. They have constantly and consistently underperformed. They are non communicative and EXPENSIVE. They and their 'Team' (I use that loosely)have been and proved to be incapable of putting in an 8 hour day but have constant and multiple excuses for their lack of performance and completion. Their supposed 'designer' was about as competent as a kid with crayons. Their 'project manager' who was never to be seen was on the same level of expertise. Their Company motto should be "Set Low standards for yourself and fail to achieve them!" Should the option of backing out presented itself I would have dropped this unprofessional pod of failures I would have in an instant! I've just finished my second project with this company so for potential customers, this is how a System Pavers' project evolves. A sales rep comes out and listens to your goals and then completes a rough diagram of your design. That rep then ballparks the costs and gives you a rather inflated project estimate. Be smart and challenge the estimate and you will save money. Once you hit a wall with your bartering, you can either afford the final estimate or you can't. As far as the sales pitch for the warranty goes, these are manufactured pavers being placed in compacted sand. During their lifetime they will be baked in sun, they will be saturated with water, they will be subjected to ground shifting, they can be stained with oil particularly in a driveway, and even nearby root growth from landscape foliage can cause pavers to shift. System Pavers will not run out to your home and fix these problems for free, no more than a concrete company will come out and replace your new driveway when it eventually cracks or get's oil stains on it. Regardless of what your sales rep tells you, you are not paying for an excellent warranty because the warranty doesn't really cover much at all. What you are paying for are a lot of salaries and corporate overhead. They're simply not a mom and pop operation. After your sales rep leaves, you get a project manager who works directly for System Pavers. I was lucky enough to get Wade C. (give him a raise) for both of my projects. After your contract is signed and you make a deposit, the project manager comes out and looks at your project. He is much more in tune with the installation process than your salesman and will help you make design modifications if needed, and he'll walk you through project prep procedures you need to complete before the installation team shows up. The actual installation team consists of contracted paver installers and they have their own boss. What you should have at that point is the advice and oversite of three professional paver installers; the sales rep, the SP project manager, and the contractor leading his team; use them! If you understand and make it clear you expect they are all working for you at that point, your installation will likely be completed as expected in a timely manner. But you have to pay attention to what they are doing as they do it. If you don't like something, insist it be changed immediately before it results in a time consuming and unnecessary adjustment. If any members of the installation team appear to not be enthused with your input, alert the project manager and allow him to do his job, particularly if there is a language barrier. I had a great installation team leader working with Wade C. for my second project and they made fluid adjustments to my project that actually made it much better than my original design. But it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't paid attention to what was going on and refrained from offering input as the pavers were being installed. My first project had contracted installers who were not as receptive to my input, but by using the project manager to actually manage those issues, things got back on track very quickly. Both of my projects started on time and were completed on time. Even after my project was signed off, we discovered a small area that needed adjustment and it was fixed in just a few days. I'd certainly recommend these guys, but you have to be realistic about the product you are purchasing, take care of it with sealer and limit hazard exposure, and have the spine to be clear what YOUR expectations are as the project proceeds. Believe me, System Pavers wants you to be happy and feel like you got what you paid for. That's the only way to stay in business. I noted some negative reviews mention poor installations. I know that my project manager had me sign-off on both of my projects before they were considered completed. So my advice to future clients would be to not pay for your project up front just because you can, and don't sign-off on a project until you've gotten exactly what you believe you paid for. These guys bent over backwards to meet my expectations and I'm not an easy client. read more

Update: One of the lights went out the day before Christmas eve. We sent a text to Cory who was our project manager just to let him know so it can get fixed whenever he had a chance. He came out ON CHRISTMAS EVE to replace the bulb. That is the amazing customer service you receive. We didn't ask him to come right away at all as it's just one light and it could have waited until after the holidays. But he came out right away and tried to fix the problem. Unfortunately, it was the whole piece that had to be replaced and just replacing the bulb didn't fix the situation for more than a day. He had to order a new one and that took a little bit to arrive, but no big deal. Once it arrived, they installed it not long after. Now all our lights are working again. Yay. I has friends tell me that they thought System Pavers would do a good job but they would be too expensive. All I can say is that they did a first rate job. The sales guy have us a good summary of what would be done and how long it would take. He had some good ideas that we had not thought about and it really improved the final product. The work crew was excellent. Showed up on time and respectful of our neighbors with node and materials. They also had some good ideas which improved the project. I like the fact they are subs to SP and must perform on every job of they are going to be retained. When all was said and done they may be the most expensive but someone must be. We hired System Pavers to redo a courtyard patio area in our house. They demolished the Spanish tile, 18" wall, and planter that were already there, and replaced it with pavers, a fire table, and a new 4' masonry wall which they made match the rest of our house's stucco. They also installed a new drain which they ran all the way to the curb. My wife and I are very pleased with the quality of the work and the results. They were able to work around our schedule and took a break between demolition and construction in order to give us time to have a window company replace the patio sliders surrounding the courtyard. They also did not require us to be home at all during construction, but were always within easy reach via phone or text message. Our sales guy, Matt, was easy to work with and our project manager Cory kept us updated during the work. Unlike many salesmen I have dealt with, Jon was pleasant, unassuming, considerate and although eager to win the business, he was NEVER pushy. He explained the entire process, measured and provided quotes, and guided me through color and pattern choices, even dropped off samples to my house. GREAT customer service!!! Once the project was underway and he was not as involved, I knew I could rely on Jon to jump in if there was a problem. Love my pavers! We had them installed to replace our backyard patio a few years ago and I still love them. Installation was a few days and was the installers were very easy to work with. There was just one spot that wasn't quite level, but they came back and fixed it without any problems. The pavers wear very well and still look great. I never had them sealed as I didn't think I'd like the look, but getting that done so it will help keep the sand between the pavers in place. Picked out a natural sealer so they still look just how I like. I love them so much I may redo my driveway with pavers. read more

We had ugly pink hardscape and a dirt pit for a backyard and the kids kept getting hurt or just insanely dirty and tracking that back into the house, so we decided it was time to redo it. We called System Pavers and they had a designer out the next day. Brian was fantastic. Listened to us closely and helped us design our backyard. We got the quote, felt it was reasonable and moved forward. The crew was fantastic! Our foreman was super communicative through the whole process and we knew what was going on every step of the way. They ran into some snags because our old hardscape was rebar reinforced (YIKES!) and because of our skinny side yard everything had to be done by hand (they couldn't get a loader back there). Despite the snags, they were fast and efficient and the end result was fantastic!! The kids are living in the backyard now and my wife is very happy - so a win all around! We did pay for lighting which hasn't come through yet because the lights we wanted were back-ordered, but I'm confident it will be just as good as the rest.
