Surprisingly good and satisfy my craving for Szechuan cuisine. I had the Spicy Boiled Fish and Beef Combo, Dan Dan noodles, and Sizzling Beef. The Spicy Fish and Beef is awesome, the flavor is good, the fish melts in your mouth, and the beef is tender. Dan Dan noodle has a perfect chewiness and great flavor on the ground meat and mushrooms. The Sizzling Beef is tender and with a perfect combo of veggies. The service is great, the waiters were attentive, and great at recommending what I was craving for. My girlfriend was sick and was craving soup. and we tried the wonton soup to go and she said it was beyond expectations! There was beef, shrimp and chicken in the soup as well as veggies! Also ginger was included! The cool thing was the wontons were separate so they were not soggy! Highly satisfied and we will definitely be back! My gosh this place was DELICIOUS. And they truly live up to the name (I'm Chinese)! The ingredients are fresh and super authentic. Beware of the spiciness and numbing feeling in your mouth if you aren't too fond of spicy food! They have a huge variety of food so if you don't prefer spice, that's totally fine. We ordered mapo tofu, another spicy dish, as well as honey walnut shrimp - a bit expensive but so damn worth it! The portions were pretty good, and 3 dishes were more than enough for 3 stomachs. We ended up taking most of our food to go. The restaurant is very roomy and clean, and the decor was traditional Chinese themed with a modern Americanized appeal. Nostalgic and thoughtful. A couple days ago, I took my family here for dinner. There were only a few tables of customers and they were so chill and weren't busy at all. Besides bringing dishes and the check to the table. So they barely served us with anything. When its time to pay, we realized they added 15% of gratuity without informing us ahead of the time. I asked them about this 15% of gratuity, the server said because there were 6 of us. Above that I calculated what they claimed "15% of gratuity" which is not 15% at all because their 15% of gratuity is based on after-tax. (Technically it should be pre-tax). So their 15% of gratuity is 20% or more depends on how much you spend when you have a party of 6 or more. I'm very generous in tipping our servers. I have tipped my servers up to 50% because their service was great and deserve to get what they work for. But the service we got here was unpleasant and we won't come back again! read more

The food did not disappoint. The interior is much nicer than I expected. This isn't your typical fast food run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. It's hard to find a good Chinese restaurant with comfortable seating and that's welcoming. Their egg noodle beef platter is very delicious, perhaps the best tasting noodles I've had in a very long time. I tried one of their lamb platters and it was incredibly delicious. It contained slices of red and green peppers. The after effects of the peppers made me sweat but they weren't very spicy to begin with. Whenever I want Szechuan food I usually have to make a drive out to my hometown, Alhambra, or the surround SGV. Now I don't have to anymore because there's an amazing Szechuan restaurant down the street from my current residence!! We ordered the braised pork belly, pig ears in the numbing chili oil, and string beans. Everything was so tasty and it wasn't expensive at all. The only thing I did not care for was the preserved vegetable mix that came underneath the braised pork belly. I usually love it but I didn't like how it was prepared here. I would still definitely recommend this dish, though! Our food came out quickly too. Our server was really kind! He made conversation and made us feel really welcomed. Great food ! My taste buds long for spicy and salty food , so I like the food here, because of the strong flavor. But if you like lighter taste, you may request "light on the salt" or "less spicy oil"...etc, they are very good at accommodating. The venue has been remodeled so it's nice and clean and bright. Service is prompt and friendly. The only downside for me is that they don't take phone orders, so if you want take out, you'd have to go in to order and wait, but again it's fairly quick ! I was very excited with this new Chinese restaurant in the area that seems authentic, judging by it's menu. We came here on a weekday night. Only three tables of customers, with two servers in the restaurant. Pretty decent ratio for good service, right? No. We ordered kung pao chicken, mapo tofu, and string beans. Because boyfriend prefers white meat, I asked the server if they use white or dark meat for the kungpao chicken. The conversation was in Chinese: Me: "Do you use thigh meat or breast meat for kungpao chicken?" Server: "Well... I don't know." (Awkward silence. I was waiting for him to check with the kitchen but he just held his pen and pad and stared at me. It wasn't like he is too busy to check for me. There were only three tables of customers after all.) (More awkward silence.) Eventually I gave in and just ordered the chicken anyway. Don't ask me if it was white or dark meat because I honestly don't remember. All I could think of during the meal was the bad service. I know I could have asked the server to check with the kitchen. But isn't that a given? I don't think he meant to be rude. He probably never had serving experience in the US and wasn't properly trained. As for the other dishes. The mapo tofu was way too numbing for my taste. The string beans were good. I ordered two noodle dishes for take out. The Dan Dan Noodles was EXCELLENT! I usually like to have leftover noodles to enjoy later, but the Dan Dan noodles were too good. The serving size was generous enough to feed a family of four, but my partner and I couldn't stop ourselves. Thankfully, I saved the Cold Noodles for later. Waitress was so sweet .. when i inquired about what kind of spices were in my dish because they were FREAKING AMAZING...she went to her bilingual dictionary to look it up for me ... .
