I get there after 30 mins and after waiting and additional 20mins was told there were sorry that my order would be ready in another 10 mins. At this point, I just got up and left. INCREDIBLE downtown Bistro. The food is absolutely delicious...I ordered the Maji Maji with Grilled Shrimp over a bed of rice pilaf and sauteed spinach....to die for. Great little bistro for breakfast lunch and dinner. For dinner I had the Kobe beef burger with carmelized onions medium rare with steak frites. I started with the mussels which were cooked in a Thai infusion broth and serves with pita toast points. Excellent value for the money. They also have a fine selection of wines and craft beers. I had my favorite which is the Belgian fat tire which paired nicely with these dishes. read more

Staying in Club Quarters on business. Staff recommended eating in Bistro. Seemed like a great idea as I was exhausted and didn't want to travel far. Stayed up late watching Astros win. Entered bistro, there were 2 customers sitting at bar and only 1 table of customers outside, 1 waiter and 1 bartender. Was downtime which was perfect in my eyes. Asked bartender where I should sit which he replied "anywhere" handed me my menu and silverware rolled up and I seated myself. Sat at table facing the bar and TV which was well within sight. Proceeded to wait 20 minutes without anyone approaching my table. Went up to the bar which bartender proclaimed "Oh, you want to order?" I laughed and replied yes, of course. Gave my order and returned to my table. Watched other customers enter and actually receive service; meanwhile, I still had no beverage in front of me nor anyone to ever approach my table. It was obvious that I was not welcome and would not be served. I was professionally dressed and saw no other differences from other patrons. Unfortunately this leaves me to believe by process of elimination that the only difference between me and others was the color of my skin. I walked out and highly doubt it was even noticed or even a concern. I will be letting my employer know that this is not a diversity friendly establishment. Everything tastes rather salty here--including the salad. The seared ahi tuna salad is decent, but I wish they hadn't poured so much dressing over my salad (I specifically asked for dressing on the side, too!). Service tends to be on the slower side, so beware if you're looking to grab a quick meal. If I weren't staying at Club Quarters for my visit, then I doubt I'd eat at Table 7. If you don't want any of the fast food in the area, Table 7 does enough to satisfy your healthier fixes of salad and whatnot. read more

Twice now I've dine here. The first one was when I had the vegetarian pizza. The pizza was really dry and not enough vegetables. It seem as if it was frozen prior. The second was the sushi tuna which was also dry. The food is served pretty quickly but not good quality. It's as if the food sits around and wait to be eaten. Thumbs down! We are staying at the Club Quarters for business and wanted to give the restaurant a try for breakfast. I'm pretty sure our first cup of coffee was left over from the day before.....room temperature and stale tasting. Everything from that point was either cold or room temperature.....bacon, eggs, grits (which are made with mozzarella......strange). The 2nd cup of coffee was better when he finally got around to refilling. I don't like to leave bad reviews, I was just so disappointed with this place. I really like this place. Was in Houston on business and wanted a quiet place to sit and relax after work. I sat at the bar a couple friendly patrons around me. Place is really small and the service was great, So much that I made it there 2 nights. First night I had spinach and articoke dip for a starter, Main Dish was a rosemary spinach salad and creme brulee for desert. Second night ceaser salad, Shrimp Pesto and peanut butter cake for desert. Everything tasted great and was fresh. Some people were raving about the KOBE burger and Ahi tuna I'll try that on another trip. Best part it is extremely reasonable and the portiions are out of this world. read more

The food at Table 7 is good, and so I hate to say that I will likely not be back...but it is true. I work downtown, and so I have visited Table 7 several times for lunch, but the poor service I have received every time I've come in is going to keep me from returning. When I ate there a few months ago, it took our waitress over 1.5 hours to serve us lunch, and our order was not complicated, nor was the place that busy. In a separate incident, when it was time to pay for lunch last week, my friends and I handed our server our 3 credit cards, asking her to split the bill three ways. Instead, she returned with three bills where she had completely randomly assigned different charges to the three of us, with no rhyme or reason. That was fine, but when I was looking over my credit card statement after the meal, I realized that the server charged me twice for my meal, when the charge wasn't even correct the first time! As I mentioned before, the food here is good, but the hassle of the poor service will keep me from returning. read more

If it were not for Club Quarters Hotel being connected to this restaurant, it would close.... quickly! Service was inattentive, slow and lacking any ambition what so ever. Took 25 minutes to get water and 15 minutes to get coffee, with 17 people in the restaurant. From the time I walked in, there were four sets of dirty dishes around me and I had to ask them to take them away after 15 minutes (you would have thought I asked for free food from the look I got). Food was good, after 35.minutes of waiting. 1 hour and 10 minutes for a breakfast of eggs and bacon is ridiculous.... not going back.... read more

This place is located in the Club Quarters Hotel. Came here on the last night of my stay in Houston. I ordered to go as I was staying in the hotel across the street. Such a disappointment! I should have just gone to the Chipotle nearby. I ordered the Salmon Papardelle and Caesar's Salad- the salmon was dry and the pasta was very salty; the salad, the Romaine was not fresh and was sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and a couple of croutons. How can you go wrong with Caesar's salad!! don't mind paying for food as long as it is quality food. read more

Been here a few times with coworkers and it has been decent. Except for this time. I ordered a Kobe burger medium well with steak fries and after I took a bite out of it, noticed it was medium rare. I politely told the waitress and she took it to the back to get it fixed. Not even 5 minutes later, she returns with the burger and fries. They replaced the bun, but it was the exact same burger patty and fries. I believe that they actually microwaved the plate since the fries were soggy and oily (normally what happens when you reheat fries). I asked to speak to the manager and told him the situation. He did not even apologize or ask if there was anything he can do to accommodate me. I will likely never return to this place as the situation was handled incorrectly and they don't seem to care about the quality of food. They should send the manager to courses in HRM so he can get the skill-set to be an effective manager. read more

Let me first say that I really want to like this place. I really do. Their sister location in the warehouse district is great. This location is within walking distance of my office. BUT, I am not impressed. I went with friends for lunch yesterday. We sat down and a young man took our drink orders. Then, after a while a waitress came and took our food orders. She was thorough and asked questions so that our orders were correct. We all ordered angus burgers. So far so good. Then we waited. None of us ordered our burgers well done. We waited some more. Then, the burgers arrived served by the guy who took our drink orders. Apparently, he was going to wait on our table. My companions' burgers were correct, even though they had omitted some toppings. My burger, which I had ordered dry with mustard and ketchup on the side arrived with "secret sauce". I sent it back. I waited. I waited some more. Then the burger arrived, with secret sauce still on the meat patty and some on the bun. I think they decided to scrape it off, but did a poor job of it. To top it off, my fries were cold. By now, we were 1 hour into the meal and we needed to get back, so I decided to bite the bullet and just eat and go. About this time, one of my co-workers discovered that 1/2 of his burger was cooked to death. not sure how they managed 1/2 of the meat to be well and the other medium well, but they did it. That part of the burger was like chewing a hockey puck, he said. So, after we had eaten what we would/could, we pushed the plates away and waited. All the staff had evaporated or were doing busy work behind the bar. Finally the waiter cleared our plates and we asked for the check, and waited. Then we got the check, gave him our cards, and waited...and waited...(you are seeing a pattern here). Finally, one of the guys went to say that we needed our checks. The waitress went in the back and said that the waiter was working on it. We waited some more and finally got the settlement and our cards back. Needless to say, we were unimpressed with the service standard. I needed to get back to work, so rather than demand to speak to the manager, I wrote a note on the receipt. I regret not talking to the manager now, and may write them an email. However, I will not return to this location. If the staff in the front of the house cares so little, and the food can't be gotten right by the kitchen, this is a disfunctional location. What a shame. read more

Wanting a quick breakfast before flying out I decided to try out the restaurant attached to the hotel. I had read some of my fellow Yelpers reviews and figured how bad could it be for breakfast. My question was answered very soon. Wanting to sit in a booth I was begrudgingly shown to one and a menu thrown in front of me. Coffee came quick, breakfast not soo much. When it finally arrived the omelet was cold, toast dry and the grits scalding hot. No refill on coffee, no jam or hot sauce was offered. I tried to flag her down but she disappeared for 10 minutes. I went to the bar to find someone to pour some more coffee, again no luck. All the people in the place looked miffed, waiting for checks, food, orders to be taken, plates to be cleared, none of which was happening. When she reappeared she gave me the check and cleared my plate, and naturally left again for 10 minutes. Food is average at best, service terrible and indifferent. read more

To start, I barely write reviews ever, but this one deserved a review. I'm happy to give them 1 star and the star ONLY covers the food. I had the peppercorn steak with fries and broccoli and they actually all were very tasty. The lack of stars here is the service. The second I walk in I see about 5 people sitting around the bar eating and drinking but not a single employee in sight. It's not a big place so I look around and see no one. I figure I'll see them shortly so I just pick a seat and sit down. About 10 minutes later, 2 employees emerge from the back chatting with each other. Where have they been for 10 minutes in the back? She sees me and goes, "OMG I'm so sorry I didn't know you were here because you're the first table of the night!" I tell her that's fine thinking maybe that's a valid point. Well, I was ready to order and guess what the 2 employees were doing, chatting with each other in the corner and I think I saw her hand on his face so maybe they were making out? She finally realizes the amount of time that must have gone by and comes over and asks what I want. After I order she says her name and says that if I need anything to not hesitate to call her name out. Needless to say, this is restaurant and I'm not going to shout the servers name if I need a refill or something. It's her job to come over and check up on me, which she didn't do once. At one point, her and the guy were walking to the back together, and laughing incredibly loudly to the point that one of the patrons at the bar told the bartender that they were being incredibly unprofessional and she had to go talk to them. They got quieter after that but the service still sucked. I hope management reads this and fires the 2 employees, not the bartender, that were working last night. When you are a restaurant tied to the hotel it's at, you expect much better service. read more

Had Turkey Lasagna for lunch. It was great, i love it never had an lasagna that is vertically layered lasagna sheets, instead of the traditional horizontal layered. It is very light, not heavy at all, and at the same time very meaty, the flavor was very well too! We had Favor deliver a meal from this restaurant and it was horrible! The Panko chicken bowl included an over cooked frozen chicken slab that was supposed to resemble a breast we assume... The pasta is something that would be served at Golden Corral. The pork chop was tough and the roasted potatoes and the Brussels sprouts were inedible. I asked that the veggies be placed in separate container, but that did not happen... resulting in the juice from the sprouts soaking everything else. I usually give restaurants 3 times before I give up on them... this restaurant does not get another chance. read more

My husband & I have eaten at this location usually once a month since opening 2-3 years ago and usually always get a burger. When this eatery first opened they had the most awesome steak fries ever, but they changed and are now just ordinary frozen type fries. The burgers were always special attributing to the sauce and the slightly sweet whole wheat bun. We ate there yesterday and unfortunately the burgers are now served with a standard grocery store type bun. Now unfortunately, the only thing making this burger any different is the sauce. We were literally the second group of people there because we wanted to beat the lunch crowd but it didn't help at all. It took over 30 minutes just to get our food, remember this is a salad and a burger we're talking about. It finally came out and like I said, not worth the wait. Our family traveled to the Club Quarters Houston from various parts of Texas & Louisiana July 13th for a funeral. We gathered in your bistro on that Monday afternoon and were met with great service. We were only going to get drinks then go to another restaurant to meet up with other family members in the city. As it turned out, we enjoyed not only the appetizers & drinks, we were treated as rock stars by the servers, Claire & Andrew. They had no idea what brought us to Houston. They were smiling, happy, fun to be around people and glad we were sharing the evening with them. We ended up staying for dinner, which was excellent. We ate most every meal at Table 7 Bistro, during our total stay - through Thursday morning's breakfast, July 16th. My husband & I have told many of our friends about the great food and super service. Specifically stated if they go to Houston, be sure to have at least one meal at Table 7 Bistro, any and everything on the menu was superb. With the number of people in our group, pretty much the menu was enjoyed during our stay. We hope to make another trip to Houston soon, if for no other reason to have appetizers & drinks, hopefully with Claire & Andrew again. We had a couple of beers and the Chicken Pesto Pizza. Honestly, that was one of the most delicious pizzas that I have ever eaten in my life! To add to the enjoyment, our waiter, Sam, was very upbeat and so nice to talk to. He was a true professional and checked on us regularly! We never had to wait long for anything. He was one of the very best waiters that I have ever had! The next time I visit Houston, I will definitely be eating at the Table 7 Bistro with Sam as my waiter! I don't even to know what to say about how bad the food and service are here! Now, I only had breakfast here and so my review might be slighly off, but it was horrible. The food was so bad that I don't even think my dog would eat it. Everything was cold and heated - if you know what I mean. Part of the food was warm and other parts too hot - you know, the whole microwave thing! The coffee was cold and the server couln't or wouldn't do anything about it! I ate the toast which was horrible - really, how do you screw up toast - and I was charged $10 for this crap! Thanks for taking the coffee off the bill, but how do you actually stay in business with this food. The server didn't know how to smile and was annoyed that I was there, plus - as I said before - he couldn't do anything about cold coffee or the food when I complained.
