It's very sad to see the quality of your favorite local restaurant get really bad. We used to love their carne asada but over the course of the last few months the quality of the meat has gotten really bad to a point that it's inedible. My family and I went to this place because we were craving some really good Mexican food. We ordered in the line, and got a table. After about 30 minutes of waiting, we still didn't receive our food (which was weird because it was such burritos). We told the lady at the counter and honestly she really didn't seem to care at all. She just said it was on the way. People had already came in and left at this point. Also, the people in this restaurant were all around 22 and super annoying. Not a comfortable environment at all. I just had the worst customer service experience at Tacko, and I couldn't walk up the hill fast enough to write this review. I ordered a Mahi Mahi taco. Being my first time here I didn't realize you needed to say grilled or Baja. I asked if there was white sauce and was told no. When I got my taco it was grilled, and I had wanted the beer battered one. I went to talk to them about it and was immediately met with attitude from Emily. ( she was so rude that I got her name). She didn't offer me the other taco, she told me that for next time I had to say Baja. I stood there in disbelief and finally she gave offered to make me the other taco. When it came out, it had white sauce on it. I went back to Emily, and she told me that they have already given me two tacos. What?! So, bc you aren't clear, and then give me a sauce I asked not to have, I just have to eat it?! She refused do anything to make it right. I told her I would like to leave and to get my money back. She said fine but went along her business... I finally went to the cashier to explain, and she came up behind him and snipped.. " just give her her money". The sad part was we actually liked the food we did eat, but based on this terrible customer service experience we will never go back. We live close by but we will tell all our friends to also go to tacolicious where you never have to deal with someone as rude as Emily. read more

I am used to get my burritos in the mission. So I try the San Francisco, the "mission style" burrito with carne asada. First the burrito was tiny (especially for the price) and they forgot to put meat into it! It was not even busy! Saw that once back home. And as for the taste I had way better in the Mission. This review is for staff attitude only, I left before ordering. Walked up to the counter and a staff member walks up (he was in the dining room, not behind the counter) and asks if I am eating here or to go (I said here). He tells me not to order a burrito (which I was going to order). I ask if the burrito is bad, he says no but would only order if I was getting it to go. I stated I wanted a burrito after which he said "well you can order what you want but the name of the place is Tacko so I would THINK you would want to order a taco". I'm sitting in this restaurant still waiting on my food right now after ordering online over an hour and a half ago. I've been waiting that long, and I STILL don't have my order. I was just told a second ago that, although the order was placed over 1.5 hrs ago, they JUST started working on it. I understand they can get a little bit busy, but I've now seen over a dozen people who ordered after me getting their order before me. This isn't some fancy sit-down restaurant, this is order-at-the-register fast/casual type establishment. I expect a lot more from them, at least for them to not waste so much of my time. On top of that, the two younger cashier ladies have been acting sassy and pretentious towards me every time I've asked about the status of my order (over 5 times now!) and don't seem like they gave a single crap. After the last two experiences with Tacko I need to give it one star. I'll explain. I live in the neighborhood and frequent Tacko with the family on a weekly basis (or at least we did). We love the food and convenient location to our house. We have also ordered catering portions for events from Tacko (as recently as three weeks ago). Suffice it to say, I feel we are good customers. This evening we ordered by phone for pick up. We were told 15 mins. We went to pick up but the food was not ready. Not an issue. Stuff happens. However the verbal ATTITUDE we received when we commented that this was the second time in a week that our order was delayed (and completely wrong to add), was way off base. The knob jockey behind the counter was SO dismissive and rude (and did I mention walked away in mid sentence) that we decided to end our relationship with Tacko. There are too many great places in the hood with better customer service to spend your money in. I left my phone number and name for the manager to call so I could give him some candid feedback, but so far radio silence. This is a restaurant that has apparently decided since they get so much foot traffic that be damned with customer service. As any mid to long term resident in Cow Hollow will attest......they eventually flame out of business as soon as their customer service starts to slide. Such a shame, because the food is decent. Honestly this is my first review, I've ever had to write in the negative. I've been here 4 times or so, and today made me realize that I will never come back again! The "manager" who claims to have been working 8 hrs a day plus told me that they can't put the meat that comes with my burrito on the side! Yes I know it's weird but I am a veggie and my friend isn't and so if I am paying for something I expect getting it whether it's inside the burrito or not!!! The previous times I've been here, they have had a no problem and I told the "manager" that and he told me that my workers aren't doing their job right!! Are you kidding me!!! Went there with some colleagues and we called in the order because we were pressed for time. After getting our food we decided it was best to eat there before we went back to the office. As we were eating someone who worked there came up to our table and told us that we couldn't have togo bags on the table. He then went on to make us take all the loose chips out of the togo bag and put them on napkin so he can throw away the togo bags. Then went on to tell us not to call in then eat there.
