I found it!! After many months of searching, I have found my perfect taco place in San Francisco. The food is amazing, and you do not have to wait forever to get a seat. We order take out, and dine in on a regular basis. No matter how we order, the food is always great and consistent. The street style tacos are a staple, and they are only 2$ on Tuesdays! Steak is my favorite of the street style. I also always must order elote (get that corn out of mah face!), and the baja fried fish taco. Seriously well done guys. Great food, great prices, no lines, and always consistent. You can't ask for anything better than that! read more

My mom and I actually stopped here for a beer at night because it was 1 min away from the house we stayed. We had street tacos with a side of guacamole and draft beers. They only had 4 draft beers but I think they had pretty wide selection for bottled beers. Anyway, we loved the tacos. I'm not a big fan of tacos but their carne asada taco was so good. When you're in the mood for Fish tacos Nick's way, this is a great place to get them as an alternative to the obvious locations. I also got the elote and chips and salsa. Pico de Gallo was fresh and tart. Elote was sweet and cheesey. Great food, friendly employees, and bright and sunny atmosphere. Would definitely come back! read more

Delicious food! The carnitas and carne asada served at Tacko is consistently high quality (no questionable pieces!) I usually stick to vegetarian dishes at restaurants to avoid low quality meat but it is always delicious at Tacko. Highly recommended! read more

I had lunch here with Mr. on Saturday. We were inspired by good reviews, and overall it was a satisfactory experience. I had the street-style tacos. All three were on the greasy side (sizable pool of oil in the basket afterwards) and the chicken taco was kind of bland. On the up side, the staff was nice and efficient, and the place was clean. I do find the Nantucket/Taco mix a little confusing, though. (I read the history on the wall - still feels like a confused dining setting.) I might go back if I were looking for lunch in the area. read more

Tacko is very good. It's fresh Mexican food at an affordable price. It's the same owner as nicks crispy tacos so if you like them, you'll love tacko. Also, the name comes from the Nantucket airport code. They were supposed to open it there but ended up opening here in sf. There's your fun fact of the day! read more

But I live in San Fran , and a taco shop screaming with new England pride, specifically nantuckett and Fugawi, I find awesome tacos! The best thing about this place might be the location and the habanero salsa. I've been several times, and will likely continue to go, if only because Tacko is one of the only Mexican places my wife really loves. My biggest complaint is the meat quality. I've had the carnitas, and it's pretty bland but better than the chicken, which is terrible. I've mistakenly ordered the chicken many times, forgetting that it's not grilled chicken, but stewed. That makes for a grossly wet burrito that is borderline inedibly liquidy. The fish tacos are fine.. nothing to write home about. It's quicker than nearby Mexican places, but if you're not on a time crunch, I'd avoid Tacko. The only reason I'm giving it a second star is because they have Cali burritos, which isn't super common. read more

I love the tacos at this place (Nick's Style chicken or carnitas is the way to go). They also have pretty good burritos and really nice chips and salsa verde. If you do take-out, make sure they give you your whole order and get it right. We've had a few things missing or done wrong recently. read more

If you like Mexican and you're visiting SF(or you just live here). You're in for a treat! This place have amazing food. Chips and guacamole are amazing and homemade. Delicious! I ordered the carne asada burrito San Francisco style, minus the beans. The flavor and texture was spot on, and the red and green sauces are the icing on the cake! Definitely worth the trip to the Marina/Cow Hollow area. read more

Walking into a taco shop that's Nantucket themed is a bit disorienting at first. I questioned how could this place have any decent Mexican food... boy how I was wrong! Service: The service is great. The line can get a little long sometimes but the food is always out in a couple of minutes. The staff is very sociable as well. The bus staff is really quick as well (they're most likely trying to flip tables since it's so busy there, but I appreciate the attention to clearing up tables). Food: I personally love the California burrito. I come home from work on bad days and crave the crispy goodness. The potatoes are perfectly crispy and they crisp the outside of the burrito too. It's one of those burritos you lay awake at night and dream of. The tacos are small - but they're street style so that's to be expected. They're good tacos, and are an especially good deal on Taco Tuesday (don't forget that $2 Tacate on Tuesday too!). This place has become a staple of mine since moving to California. I highly recommend this for a quick high quality food option. Sure there are move unique and fun places in the mission, but this is the perfect close to home option. read more

From the beginning I had to get my own water and utensils! One of the glasses had red sauce on it! The chicken was quite bland and the chips were to hard! The tacos were quite good but the Mexican street style tacos were small! I would say the best thing here was the guacamole and big tacos! read more

Everything is very reasonably priced, HOWEVER, it's only cash so stop by an ATM on the way there to avoid the service charge at the ATM in store.
