This is a cool and fun spot for anyone out in there to find a cool place with some pretty good food. Nice atmosphere! I got the shrimp tacos, not the best I've ever had, but they were not half bad! They have live music, however unless your on the bottom floor all you hear is the beat of the drums. Also be aware it can get hot. However the atmosphere and food are not to be missed. I would defiantly recommend if you want a fun place in orange beach. read more

I love this place. My dining partner order a cheesburger and when it came out, that sucker was huge. We talkin homemade burger patties and not those out-of-the-machine types. Man, it was damn good. I dont know what it is about the gulf shore bars, but they kinda stingy with the alcohol. I ordered and Absolut Stress and it did nothing for me. I was sad. Also, it helps that the Czech guys in the back who are cooking the food are fast and work efficiently to get the customers food out. Albeit, if there is no miscommunication between the waittress and the cooks. The Czech guys cooking our food were fast because it was a full house on the patio(nice weather helps)but they had everyone's food out in a jiffy. Damn but I was impressed because I sat where I could watch them cook and talk while working. I have to say these guys run an efficient kitchen. There's a patio in the front, and it's located along a pier of sorts, live bands play, so check out the calendar, also, it's family friendly. Dont feed the birds though. Credit card and cash are accepted, come in your bikini and shorts, doesnt matter because it's on the gulf shores by the beach so this type of casual wear is expected. The prices are reasonable but a limited men, the drinks are not(I say this because my drink did not give me any buzz whatsoever). The chicken salad could have had more chicken, 9.99, it was damn tasty though, but next time if I come back Im ordering the cheeseburger. 8.79 huge with fries, take that port-of-call. Probably better off eating at Shrimp Basket. I like my food coming out fast and hot and that's exactly what I received. Thanks Czechs! read more

Beautiful View horrible service.I asked for lemon with my water three times! We sat outside at sunset and there was a typical strong island breeze which have me a chill so I ordered a cup of coffee which I never got. My cousin and Aunt who we were entertaining from Atlanta placed an order for a second bushwhacker and the server reopened with my aunt's but not my cousin's. I'm usually very sympathetic with servers as I have been in the industry serving bartending and managing for the past fifteen years but they weren't even that busy. The price is reasonable for fresh seafood but paying that amount I expect better service!!! read more

I've been to tacky jacks multiple times in my life and have never had as bad of an experience as I had today. It took the waitress 20 minutes to bring us waters, and when she eventually came up to us she was rude and dismissive. Our waters were always empty, and our needs were never satisfied. Our server was very polite, but the food is really just not worth it, especially worth a wait. It is an interesting place to visit, but the food is really not worth it. My fried fish was floating on top of grease and most of our hot food came out cold. They gave my mom some fairly fresh shrimp while my dad got some not so fresh shrimp that didn't look as appealing as my mom's. Their sauces aren't that good either. The bar tender was absent a pulse, but he was a little heavy handed on my drink so I'll give him a better rate. Over all a comfortable place to pop in for a little bit. We loved the open feel and the environment was relaxing. The seats are metal and very uncomfortable, at the bar. The dining has plastic so possibly more comfortable. We ate a Tacky Jack's for breakfast - it was ok. Very limited menu, mostly eggs, bacon & sausage, with a few combinations of each. Atmosphere is nice. Majority of the seating is outdoors and your experience will be weather dependent. Prices were right where they should be, service was average. Nothing to rave about here, pretty average all around with the exception of the view, which was great. Only gripe might be the very limited breakfast menu. read more

Tacky Jacks has about the best waterfront location in Orange Beach. The problem is that everyone knows about it and it is always crowded. They have good live music and a great outside bar--the bar is enclosed if the weather is cold. There are tables along the water that overlook Perdido Pass--it don't get any better than that. They also have limited seating with heat and air for those super-hot or cold days. They have an excellent bar and serve great bushwackers. If you've never had a bushwacker you've got to try this coffee, chocolate flavored milkshake drink--it is the local drink of choice! Our go-to summer drink is dark rum with tonic and lime--Tacky Jacks carries Mount Gay Barbados Rum so we were happy! We got a call brand drink for $6 on a Saturday night--pretty good value, in my opinion. The food is typical beach food--the fried crab claws are good-but watch out- they are market price and that might surprise you when you get your bill. You can also get the crab claws broiled, but that isn't on the menu. The boiled shrimp are great--they are large and cooked perfectly. They provide the horseradish and let you make your own seafood sauce. Salads are so-so, but are made with mixed greens and not iceberg lettuce, so that is good. A note about the salads-- the TJ House salad costs $8.95 but it really only a bit more food than the side salad-- a definite rip off -- just order the side salad for less! Expect to wait a long time in the summer!! read more

Went to Tacky Jack's 2 by Fort Morgan. Place is a bit gritty. The decor seems a bit old and dated. My wife had Grits with shrimp, my son had a bacon cheese burger and I had fried shrimp with French fries. The food was decent nothing spectacular. Well I was very surprised that for $20.99 you only get 12 small shrimp and 2 somewhat burnt hushpuppies. And maybe 15 fries. Now the shrimp wasn't bad at all and the waitress was did being more hushpuppies but dollar to Dollar it wasn't worth $20.99. The view was great though. Service was fast. I wouldn't eat here again unless it was 1/2 price night. That way you get real value for your money. Not worth the money. Me and 3 other friends ate here for dinner, and none of us liked our food. We barely touched it. We all ordered tea and it was gross, even after multiple glasses of different "fresh" tea was brought to the table. We then ordered cokes, and the drink mix wasn't good either. Service was ok. The waitress took care of us in a timely fashion, but didn't have the best personality for a good customer service experience. Giving the benefit of the doubt, maybe she had just had a long and difficult day. Overall, not worth the trip. Most likely will not be back. read more

Definitely went for the experience rather than the food although the kids burger was great which helped. The adults ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and the server was wonderful to take them off our tab because after biting into one it tasted like a frozen TV dinner doused in sauce. read more

The food here was horrible and everything seemed very very dirty. I went in with a group of people and we got sweet chili wings as an appetizer. When the waitress had brought out our drinks and our plates for appetizers there was a bunch of dried stuff on our cups and our plates so we had to wipe everything off with our napkins. The table was very sticky and our menus had a bunch of smudges on them. The wings we had ordered were extremely overcooked and dry, we ended up sending them back and getting A replacement. The replacement wings we got were better, but not great, they were still a little overcooked which was disappointing. Whenever we got our entrées, the food was not very hot and the Philly cheesesteak that me and my sister and dad ordered was in edible I took one bite and spit it out. My dad told our waitress that he didn't like what he ordered and she took his entree off of the bill.
