My favorite, favorite fast food Mexican. Their Taco Delite Supreme is incredible. It is similar to the double decker at Taco Bell, but much better. Their corn taco shells always taste fresh and let's not forget their extra tasty fresh salsa. Their guacamole is freshly made and there is a lot of it with one order. It's fast Mexican food. While I didn't care for the queso at all (which the use on the nachos) in the "chips and dip" appetizer I did like the beans and guacamole. I also had the combo enchiladas plate and I would probably pass on getting the chili con carne on top of the cheese one. It was super bland. The beef enchilada was pretty tasty though! Oh and I agree with other reviews, their iced tea is good tea. read more

Taco Delite - Food being made to order - Mexican Near Me - Plano, Texas

When I lived in Burbank, CA there was a taco stand run by this very nice Korean family. My guess is that they did not know much about Mexican cuisine when they bought the place and learned everything they knew from a 1960s American authored cookbook. Somehow, this same approach to Mexican food works for Taco Delite. You will not find a salsa bar or anything with chipotle here. The taco meat will be seasoned hamburger , the guac will not be mixed with pico de gallo, and spice will be provided by packets of taco sauce. Despite that the food is fresh, particularly the cheese which seems grated just for your meal. I ordered a Taco Burger the last time I was there and enjoyed it a lot. I guess maybe it reminded me of childhood, when such food had not truly emerged into the $15 plate of enchiladas at Cantino Laredo world of today. The best part of the meal was that it was cheap. Taco are still less than a dollar and you can stuff your face for $5. Obviously a great place to bring kids and there were plenty in attendance. If they just had a black & white TV playing I Love Lucy re-runs, I might think I was 8 years old again, too. read more

I only give it one star cause it makes me.. EWWW i tried this place cause the nurses at my ER always brag about it and how good it is.. OMG it was bad.. I had a burrito and some tacos... The meat had a bad taste to it.. didnt like it at all.. tasted so cheap and gross.. not even close to being authentic.. fake sides, fake food.. not even close to being good.. I just tried Taco Delite for the first time a few days ago, and I was so impressed with the quality of their food that I stopped by again yesterday. All I have to say is: FRESH! Both times I ordered the chicken salad, which is essentially a gigantic taco salad.The chicken is shredded, seasoned white meat, and you get a generous portion. The salad also contains lettuce (nice and crisp), refried beans (standard tasting, but good), super fresh cheese (did they grate this just for me?), bright green guacamole (no brown nastiness here), and big hunks of fresh tomato, all layered together and served in a crispy taco shell. You can also ask for hot sauce, and you'll get real salsa, not some cheap weakness from a package. I also love that this place is exceptionally clean and the people who work here are incredibly nice. You don't see either of those qualities very often at a fast food joint. Awesome. In the fast food category, these guys are a solid 4 stars. I have never been to a fast food place that had food as fresh tasting as what I've found at Taco Delite. I'll be back very soon! read more

It's been eight years since my last Taco Delite review, and I can't believe I only gave it a piddly little three stars! My husband and I come here every Saturday for lunch unless we're out of town. We get up, run 6-20 miles (depending on what we're training for), walk the dogs, clean up, then GO GET TACOS. The food is standard Tex-Mex fare, but the hot sauce is fantastic. Seriously, the thought of chips & guac and that hot sauce has gotten me through more than a few runs when all I wanted to do was die. But...if I die...no more hot sauce. We've had everything from tacos to enchiladas...big fans of the sour cream enchilada sauce. Some days the rice and beans are better than others...same with the guac...but overall Taco Delite is a tasty, reliable joint in Plano. read more

I was driving to a friend's when I stumbled upon this place. Their menu looked reasonably priced and I'm a sucker for enchiladas. I ordered the beef enchilada plate with queso instead of chili sauce and chips and queso. I have to say that it ruined my day. I'm sorry, but I don't trust a taco place that can't do queso. It looks like the stuff that is called "cheese sauce" and comes in a can, but tastes like Kraft macaroni and cheese. It was very off putting. Was back at Taco Delite for lunch on Friday. Needed a quick run thru the drive-thru. Picked up another fajita burrito. Once again, the steak wasn't seasoned (but adding the salsa did help). The steak was hot and fresh, as was the rest of the burrito ingredients. Service was fast and I got out of there for under $6 (added a diet coke). Used to eat here years ago when I worked in Plano. Got by last week and it is still as good as ever. Beef not greasy, food is fresh and prices are good compared to other restaurants of its class. I honestly don't see how a T. Bell or Bueno could be close to this place and have many customers. I am usually just eating a beef taco so if that is your go to item you can not go wrong. after passing this place every day for YEARS, i decided to stop when traffic was cruel. I got a crispy taco supreme and a chicken fajita burrito. Crispy taco supreme was delicious. Chicken fajita burrito, probably on par with bueno or bell. I'd give it a miss. the chicken was a bit gooey to me. Salsa... delicious and fresh! This is the best place for hardshell ground beef tacos. Don't come here and whine that they don't really have street tacos or that they only have American cheese. Come here and be happy that the ground beef is well seasoned, the lettuce and tomato are fresh, and the salsa is great. The other items are fine too but don't expect anything fancy. The queso tastes like it comes from a giant can but the guacamole is at least better than other fast food. The fountain Cokes are surprisingly good here and I don't know why. The drive through is efficient and usually gets the order right and the inside is clean and friendly too. read more

I LOVE them, the entire crew there are great people who always have smiles on their faces. Been eating here for almost 7 years, I refuse to use the drive-thru because I enjoy talking to the crew there who are always happy to see me (I bet my family has paid for someone's college). This is part of a chain but they are independently owned. The salsa at this location is da bomb! Bean burritos are simple fare, but they are our choice for pre-drinking nourishment. Had been eating here for five years regularly. They must have changed owners or management or something. Used to a bean burrito was big and thick and full of beans. Now they put about two to three teaspoons of beans in there. Not joking. You get one actual real bite of a bean burrito and rest is all tortilla. When it happened the first time we just figured it was a new employ. Its now happened four straight times indicating they have changed the way they are doing things. Also, used to never get order wrong and its been wrong last two times with stuff missing and the person taking orders and the money has a very hard time with English. So, I don't understand the angst toward bell and bueno... each place has it's spot in our beautifully diverse tapestry of tacos. I can eat tacos 7 days a week now and never get bored! The best bacon egg cheese burritos. The potato egg cheese is good too. I've heard the chorizo breakfast burritos are the best but I don't care for chorizo or spicy. Their sweet tea is my favorite around. The service there is always so super friendly, at least the breakfast crew are. I don't know about other times. Great place! read more

I just discovered this place after living in Plano several years now, and driving past several times... Wow, it's so good! This is not a five-star restaurant, of course, but it deserves five stars in the fast food drive-through category, as another reviewer said. It is great food for the price. And it's a really good price! I just got the taco plate, which has two beef tacos, rice and beans, and some chips and salsa, and I spent $5.40. Of all the locations this one is the most consistent I think. Although it is pricey (I wish they had more buy 2 get 1 deals or something along those lines), I think they are the best overall Tex-Mex fast food chain there is. It's very simple, no gimmicky creations you see at competitors, but the food is always very fresh and of high quality. The meat never taste oily or old, the vegetables are always crisp, and the tortillas and shells are never stale. read more

Great fast TexMex, but if you use the drive through make sure to check your order, they tend to forget stuff. Seems like when a bag gets full they stop. So you'll have four containers of salsa and no chips when you asked for chips and no salsa. And no burrito. The stuff left out can really drive the price up for what you get. My favorite 'fast food' here in Plano. They have the best guacamole and chips of any restaurant I've been to(it's always so fresh) and their tacos are the best. I am an iced tea drinker and believe it or not, it is hard to find good ice tea. Not any more!!! I talked to the manager and they make their tea fresh every morning and every afternoon. I usually like Taco Delite but I was disappointed on the food and service customer at this location (Coit & Springcreek). When I order I mention that please make sure there were enough beef on the nachos. Sure thing not enough beef. I told the manager..he did nothing, He just said sorry. Where was the customer service. I just wanted what is fair. I said to the manager have your GM or supervisor call me. Of course, I did not get a call, so they lost a valuable customer. read more

Decent food and price. They are Very unsanitary though. They throw serving gloves on and they serve food with them on, clean tables with the same gloves on, take money at the cash register, than turn around and serve more food. Next checking cellphone with same gloves, than serving food again. With the same gloves. Saw lady working food line in her hair and headset of course with same gloves than dig into lettuce. Eeew!!! Talk about some great tea...even the peach tea is on point. I love their ice its the small crushed kind. I have came to this location seceral times.
