    Taco Ocho

When in Texas, this is our go to for tacos and nachos. They use queso on their nachos so they are nice and juicy with lots of meat. Most places like to use cheddar cheese on their nachos so you end up you a block of chips glued together with cheese - yuck! My wife loves the skinny margaritas and claims that they are better than anything back home in Florida. The sauces are nice and spicy and I really miss that. Hot in Florida = Mild in Texas. You forget what good is when you cannot get it.

If you are looking for authentic Tex-Mex, this probably isn't your place. But the food has really good flavor, thumbs up for their chips and salsa, and the staff is always super friendly which is a plus. I typically stop here for breakfast tacos, but also recommend their brisket and jalapeño pulled pork tacos for dinner.

Right before closing I was served fresh taco plate! The brisket, rice and black beans were prepared well! I took the other taco home. Evan was phenomenal with his service as well! Clean establishment.

Shame on me for two reasons...1) for taking so long for reviewing this restaurant and 2) for taking so long to try their brunch! We love Taco Ocho. It's super close to our home, and it offers a wide variety of Latin menu choices. It is owned by a local family and always has wonderful service. The food is favorable and delicious. They offer lots of vegan and gluten free choices. So the brunch...OMG! So many breakfast choices. I finally decided on the huevos rancheros, and my meal was delicious. They have lots of brunch drink specials...including $4 mimosas and an amazing Prickly Pear Margarita - which is as tasty as it is pretty! Highly recommend Taco Ocho for any time of the day!

This may be my new favorite taco place. A friend told me it was very good. It is right next to Market Street, which is my grocery store of choice, when I grocery shop. So, I am near it all the time but had never been. I finally asked a friend to meet me there for lunch. It was an excellent decision. We both enjoyed it. The waiter was very pleasant and offered great service. He checked on us every so often, without hovering, and improved our dining experience. We each got the two taco meals. The rice, refried black beans and corn side was excellent. Black beans are always my first bean choice. My friend loved the Latin Love and Pork tacos that she had. I had the grilled fish taco, which was one of the best fish tacos I have ever had. And, since I will be visiting Colombia soon, I chose the Coco Connection and loved it!

Order the ranchero, cabo fish, and jalepeno pork tacos. Trust me. Pura vida is also good with a sweet and spicy kick.

We had seen the place on Yelp and planned to grab something quick to go, but it turned into a great stop. The location is fantastic and convenient near the airport. The hostess was welcoming right away and directed us to the bar so we could place a quick to-go order. At the bar, the bartender gave excellent service and convinced us to try a couple of tacos along with the yuca fries and plantains we originally planned to order--and I'm glad he did. The Tacos Al Carbón were outstanding: grilled fajita beef with sautéed poblano and onion on flour tortillas topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. The steak was tender and full of flavor. The beans and rice were just right, and the plantains with coconut sauce were a perfect addition. The bartender also recommended a Stone Delicious IPA, which made the short wait enjoyable. We grabbed a Tamarindo agua fresca and bolitas de yuca for the road--light, flavorful, and perfect for the drive. Great food, great service, and a great find near the airport. Definitely worth stopping in.

We tried a Tamarindo fresh water - it was really but costly $7. Then, the Chicken Pozole Verde was delicious - amazing flavors, I almost cry... Oliver's tostada was very good too, the mix of flavor with Guajillo salsa was perfect. As dessert, I had a fried sweet plantains with special sweet cream I will definitely return

The lady was really nice and pleasant and helped a couple gringos order dinner. :) Tried their street tacos and had a barbacoa, pastor, and carnitas. It came with rice and beans. May have been an off night. But I can't say that anything was awesome or would I would consider GOOD. It was just kinda meh. The barbacoa had a lot of grease, which I would expect to be very flavorful. It was somewhat bland. The pastor was really dry and probably my least favorite. It may have just been in the warmer all day or something. The carnitas wasn't bad. It was tender and the best flavor. Their salas were good. The green didn't have any heat to it and had a pleasant taste. The red one had a nice flavor but made me sweat a bit. The rice was light, fluffy and tasted food. The beans were beans... not a ton of flavor could've used some salt. Decent dining experience. It's in an older gas station. Not the cleanest place (not the taqueria's fault), but it wasn't nasty. Won't swear this place off, but not in a rush to go back. Service was fast and friendly. May have been an off night for them. There are worse places to eat.... We supported a small business, if nothing else. :)

The chorizo was good. It was what I expected. However, there wasn't much bacon in the BEC tacos. In fact, there wasn't much of anything in any of the tacos. They were ... lite. Lite in flavor and size. Very skinny. No look, it's obvious they know how to cook and I'd bet their street tacos would be good, but this breakfast was disappointing.
