Al Pastor Burrito
Billy T.

Wanted to try an authentic Mexican foodie place on Fillmore and not in the mission district for once, while I was on a work break and will definitely say... this was the opposite experience. Staff is very kind and super quick with the order however, I just wish the quality of the food was up to par with its service. The cashier that day was very fun to converse with ice breakers, a little die roll game for a chance for free food. Great place if you're looking for a corporate lunch bulk order through food apps, and/or if you can afford this. On to the foodies: Al pastor burrito An over priced $16 burrito with just beans and cheese and meat. If you wanted to make it "primo style" to add on some pico, guac and veggies it'll ring you closer to $20. Their salsa options from non spicey to hella spicey was basically tomato puree to licking a pepper flake.

birria bowl with cheese guac and sour cream
Cher H.

I Uber eats for dinner. I had a promo for buy one get one and so I was like hmmm birria bowl love that I just topped it off with salad when I got it. I got it with the extra sour cream, guac and cheese. The cheese I wasn't expecting just shredded American cheese blend. I'm not sure if it was me but my food was just overly acidic like it was a lot of lime or lemon in it. 32 bucks for two bowls delivery that's not bad the meat was really good but i'm going to probably do tacos next to really taste the meat also will be dining in to see if food tastes different next time there was a green sauce like a cilantro sauce or something. I don't know what it was but it was delicious. It was a little 2 ounce cup. I want to know what that is lol I will review again when I dine in

Braised Beef Burrito

Ordered through DoorDash and everything showed up right on time and still hot and fresh! The food itself was honestly really good, the meat was flavorful and well cooked in my burrito. The tots stayed surprisingly crispy after delivery. My only real gripe is the portion sizes, which felt very very small for what you're paying, especially the burrito which could've used a lot more like rice to make it feel filling. I'm not sure if it's the same in person, but it definitely left me still hungry afterward. Overall the quality of the food was superb and just next time I probably need to order two of everything haha.

Chips & Pico de Gallo (great crunch)

The three of us went to this slightly confusing establishment where you can technically sit at the adjacent cocktail bar (aka The Snug) and the waiters from the Snug bring you food from taco primo after you QR-code it. Anyway we got the taco salad, the chicken and al pastor burrito, with a side of chips (see images). The burrito was sort of small but not complaining since I am dieting for the New Years Resolution so def not for the Super option lovers. And also...no water from the restaurant is diabolical

Breakfast Bowl
A O.

Lime Cured Cabbage? Churro Fries? Breakfast Bowls? What's not to be curious about? So far my experience has only been with the breakfast bowls. My diet is primarily proteins, vegetables and I carb cycle, so a quickly made fresh breakfast bowl is perfect for my work and workout grind. I sometimes grab a small order of oats and berries from Joe & The Juice to pair with their breakfast bowls. I've had 1 every morning for the first 4 days of the new year. It's basically a deconstructed breakfast burrito without the tortilla. A base bowl comes with 4 eggs. I will eventually try one of their salads. If you order chipotle or delivery often, then this team definitely deserves a chance. Especially if you chase breakfast tacos and burritos, which are also options. It's a pickup and to go service so keep that in mind. Please excuse the picture, it had already moved around in my bag when I turned around to get updated pictures of their menu. It's clean and I like kitchens I can see from the floor whether I'm standing or sitting. It's something I've adapted towards eating at sushi bars. Nice people. They already call me by name when I walk in.

I was in the area and my partner wanted tacos, so I spotted this place and thought we'd give it a try! We're now big fans and will be back! The restaurant has a nice laidback vibe and long bar. We adore the turtle mascot printed on the menu and parchment paper. We got the chips and tried one taco each. (We opted out of the primo as we're trying to be more health conscious). The chips were well fried and salted nice and evenly. The tacos - wow the tortilla was delicious and the meats and the one vegan jackfruit were tender and flavorful. It did take a long time to receive our tacos after the chips came out pretty quickly and a while to find a server for the check, so maybe not the best place if you're in a hurry. There was a loft area with a birthday celebration - seems like it'd be a great place for a private party.

Chicken bowl

The food I had delivered to my address from here was awesome! The chicken bowl was amazingly delicious. The service and the ambiance of the restaurant is also great from what I have read. I highly recommend people come here and i guarantee you will love the food there. I wish I could give them 10 stars

Bacon Breakfast Taco and Chorizo Breakfast Tacos
Kayle B.

As a former Texan, I firmly believe that Breakfast Tacos are superior to Breakfast Burritos, but the former are hard, if not impossible to find in SF. Taco Primo provides a taste of home that tastes like home. They use La Palma flour tortillas which are perfect in general and especially for encompassing all the delicious ingredients. Their chorizo option is so good and I love their hot hot hot salsa-it has great kick.

2 braised beef tacos. Kind of small for $10 but I guess this is inflation and city living
Kristine A.

While it's clean and good, I didn't see the ratio of food to cost here. Each taco was almost $5. Also I preferred a steak carne asada taco but the beef option was only braised beef. My friend's burrito was also made incorrectly.. he asked for no salsa but they put salsa pico de gallo inside. We were not impressed at all. Next time we will just go to the mission.

Chicken burrito

Walked by for a quick dinner after a friend recommend. Overall I would say it was pretty good! Not the best I've ever had but very solid. I think the Al pastor quesadilla was my favorite and the mild salsa is great. The best part is the price! Very good deal for what you get ($20 for a burrito and large quesadilla)! Staff is nice and vibes are good on Fillmore, but be aware that it's a take it to go place (with some seating by the snug). I'd probably come back.

Are the Refried beans vegetarian or are they made with beef lard?

I don't eat refried beans because they are really fattening and yes refried beans are made with animal fat

Review #1,092 Posted on 7.23.26…read more We stopped in here on a whim last Saturday the 18th. I found this spot on Yelp after the 1st place we wanted to go to for lunch had a line about a block long. This spot had super good ratings and was also close by. We were so happy we ended up here. There was a few places left to sit inside, and the World Cup semi finals were on too, a good game 6-4 England over France. The cooks were going crazy in the back when goals were scored, it was a fun dining experience. The food here was excellent, the chips were so fresh and crispy, salsa really good flavor and tasted great also. My chile verde was super tender and flavorful. I also tried my kids shrimp quesadilla, and it was great too. Food came out super fast and they still have people there to help you out with bringing the food out and take away dishes, etc. It's a order counter type, then you sit and wait for your food. Tips are in order here when you order as they do wait on you somewhat after you're sat. I would come back here 100% and recommend this spot for good Mexican food.

Normally that's when I question my patience... but when a line is wrapped around the building before lunch even starts you know something serious is happening. Spoiler: it was worth it. We ordered the carne asada tacos and the asada burrito. The tacos were packed with flavor and loaded up. I had a hard time holding my one taco and gracefully eating it. I thought the tacos were good then I tried the asada burrito... I only had a few bites and it stole the show for me. I'm still thinking about it, which feels a little dramatic but honestly, that burrito earned the attention. It was that good. Every staff member I interacted with was also incredibly kind. They managed the flow of people well and I didn't feel rushed at all while dining in. Overall 10/10. The hype is real it. The line is long, but it moves and the food absolutely delivers.

They accept cash, Apple Pay or Zelle. For two carne asada tacos and an al pastor quesadilla, they charged us $25. No idea what the cost breakdown is since they don't have a menu lol Service was prompt and friendly. They have pickled onions with sliced habaneros and a few different salsas. I like the red salsa, creamy green one (kinda spicy), and the creamy habanero (very spicy). The tacos were good. Pretty decent amount of meat. The quesadilla was also good with a decent ratio of cheese and meat. I thought the al pastor was missing that typical strong savory-sweet flavor though. They also added pineapple in the quesadilla. There are a lot of options in the area but this place is worth a try.
