My wife and I have been here several times and the food never misses the mark. The service is always top notch as well. Tonight, though, the service we received from Nico was next level. First time eating at Taco Surf. I must have passed by this restaurant many times, glad I decided to give them a try. Their exterior decor gives off a fun and casual vibe. The interior was equally bright and lively. We were greeted right away when we entered. Special note, not all the booths are equally spaced out. I got a really tight booth. I should have asked to move but that was on me. The salsa that comes with their chips and salsa was good. I ordered taquitos. These homemade taquitos came out hot and fresh. They tasted really good. The rice was fluffy. The beans were not my favorite, a little thin for my taste. We also ordered the carnitas plate. Overall good. Our server was very good. She had a great smile and was friendly. Pricey but you get a lot of food! We ordered for take out. I got the California burrito and my boyfriend got the Baja fish burrito. The Cali burrito was great, but you need to eat it right away or the fries won't be crisp. You'll also need salsa and/or extra pico. The Baja fish taco was disappointing. At first glance we were amazed because it was even bigger than the Cali burrito, but it's filled with a lot of lettuce and the fish seemed like it was frozen fish. We had a Fish Taco and a regular Pipeline Burrito with ground beef today. The taco was $6.25 but the Burrito was $17.95 crazy. The Burrito tasted like i was eating a extra large combo burrito from Taco Bell. Bad choice. Also, $4.25 for a soda. We have eaten some other items here before and they were acceptable, sometimes, but everything is getting to costly for this type of food. I have been to Taco Surf twice in the the past 6 months. The services is always great and the staff is super friendly. They seem to be kid friendly and my kids like the staff. Food has always been great. I recommend their fish of the day or their chili verde dishes. Next time I'll have to take a picture. I tend to go in the early afternoon before it gets busy. read more

We've been here 4x and twice we got the worst waiter named Marco. We decided to take the family 8 of us for the day before Mother's Day. We ended up the only table on the one side to get Marco. He hates his job, has no personality and made our experience horrible. He made it seem like we were bothering him. We weren't ready to order right when we were seated, which I think made him upset. He then, what felt like on purpose, made us wait 20 mins before he came back to ask us if we were ready to order. We really wanted to get up & walk out after he was being so rude. We stuck it out and the food came way fast, too fast like it was microwaved bc the plate was overly hot to the touch. The verde burrito was stuffed with rice(filler) no sauce, no beans, barely any meat for the price. It seems they just try to fill you up with filler food. It was the driest burrito. We were afraid to ask for anything extra because of how rude and uncomfortable he made us feel. The food to me is overpriced for the filler and no flavor food. I also asked for tomato or lettuce on my daughter's cheeseburger they informed me they don't have anything to go on the burger and if I wanted anything extra would be extra charge. If you order a margarita plan for it to be made with wine. Guess no hard alcohol?? Not the friendliest place, cool atmosphere that's all. We usually go to the Seal Beach location but wanted to avoid the beach goers. Everyone should check out this location for the 5 star service and 5 star meal. Shortly after being seated, Chava (short for Salvador) brought fresh warm chips with salsa that was not too spicy and too mild. Just right. We did consume two baskets of chips and three little bowls of salsa. And there was only two of us. Yami (short for Yamilexi) is very courteous with a nice personality. Throughout the meal she checked on us several times. Between Chava and Yami, they made for us a wonderful eating experience. And I haven't even started on the meal. The Regular Pieline Burrito with carnitas was just perfect. It was prepared just perfect with the freshest of quality ingredients. Had a bite or two of the chili relleno. Another winner. Cute place very festive with good vibes. Complimentary chips and salsa which I could eat all day. We ordered fish tacos- They looked good, but wouldn't order again. Tortillas cold and fish was mainly breading and way overdone. I wanna say it was frozen fish like fishsticks. We also ordered a steak burrito and added shrimp. It was good size and plenty of shrimp. Just an ok burrito. We also ordered a cold beer SOL which is advertised all over inside the restaurant and were told they don't carry it so we pivoted and ordered Margaritas.... BIG mistake. I watched our waiter make it behind the bar and saw that he added something besides tequila. These were just regular margaritas, but when I tried it, there was a weird taste to it, so I asked the waiter for water instead. He informed us that they don't have a liquor license to use tequila, so they put wine in the Margaritas??? Say what? It's not his fault, but wish we were informed before we ordered it. Our waiter was a sweet kid but definitely wasn't sure of what was going on. Towards the end of our meal our waiter left and went to lunch, whatever he was eating looked GREAT!!! He never came back and we asked someone else for the check. We then brought the check to the bar to pay where our waiter was, now back from his lunch. We paid cash and needed 15$ and some change back. He didn't have access to the register so he asked if I needed the coins back or if it was cool not too because it would be hard to get them. He gave us our change from his order pad, maybe his tips? Idk either way, I tipped him and left. One positive note I can say is there is a waitress there who busts her ass taking care of her tables and deserves some recognition. I don't know her name but I could see she was expecting soon... My husband & I were the frequent visitors of this location before COVID happened. The experiences were always good. Well, when I said frequent, it was probably twice every month, more if we have visitors from out of town. The service was great. The server would remember our drinks and remembered I liked my tacos with Ensenada style. I had always ordered mine with no sauce, and it came correctly every time. For the last two times I visited, that awesome server was not there. Again, I ordered with Ensenada style with no sauce. Twice, mine came with sauce. I politely asked the server what was in the sauce, thinking maybe I would just eat it if it wasn't something I didn't eat. The server took the plate and said: "Oh, no sauce" and came back quickly with another plate. This time, I didn't ask and just went ahead and tried it. I left half of the food on the plate. My husband even noticed that I didn't pack mine home. During COVID, they stopped offering sauces in bottles, which I believe was the regulation, and I appreciate that. Now, the sauces are still in the tiny plastic containers and only a quarter filled. We eat very spicy, so we always had to ask for more. I feel so bad how many containers it took to have barely enough hot sauces for our food. (I felt bad asking for more) That server made our meal wonderful every time. He always had a big smile, said hi to everyone, and got my order right, every time. I understand things change, and everyone is overworked nowadays. I just missed my time at Taco Surf. Finally going to this place recommended from friends and co workers. Post pandemic times. Plexy at cashier and everyone with a mask on and spacing throughout the restaurant. One time use printed menus. Love how the table how quotes pertain to life. Complimentary Chips and salsa - very fresh and tasty. We both got the 3 street tacos special. Got carnitas potato and their famous Baja fish taco. Carnitas super flavorful, moist, and meaty even with all the fixings of lettuce guac tomato cheese and so forth. Baja fish was fried fish with coleslaw their special sauce and fixings. Potato taco is actually a hard taco line with potato and filled with veggies and top with a fresh avocado slice and spicy salsa. The 3 tacos are larger than your traditional street tacos and no additional charge for the guacamole! Also had a side of rice and beans which were light and complimented the tacos. We went to my wife's favorite Mexican restaurant and i liked it much better on my second visit. My shredded beef and shredded chicken burrito was one of the best burritos ive had. Most other restaurants make the burritos to soupy but this one was hearty and thick with lots of cheese. The guacamole on our second visit was much smaller then on previous visits and not worth the 7.00 so please make your guacamole servings like you used to. read more

From the moment we walked in we where greeted with a smile, we got to choose where we wanted to sit, kid/adult friendly place, not just one person attended to us it was the best service quick and efficient, the salsa for the chips had the right spices and perfect they had the right pinch of ingredients!!
