My dad took us to eat here. He wasn't wrong. Evrery single thing was BOMB Especially for the price. Starting with the Shrimp Burrito my husband loved not like at Señor Baja where they only put like 3 shrimps. This 1 really had shrimp And it was bomb. The fish and shrimp taco with tortilla de arena was different but still bomb. The tostadas de camaron were abundant with camaron, they were not stingy with the shrimp. This place does not deserve to even have one star rating from me. I have to give them one star just to post this review. I have never encountered such a bad customer service in my entire dine out life. The cashier was racist from the moment that we came up to the counter to place our order. No smile or greeting to us but yet to everyone else. Let me further explain to why I felt that the cashier was being racist. We ordered one fish taco, mixed soup and a Baja burrito; sat down and patiently waited for our food. We noticed that everyone that came in to the restaurant got their food whether they dined in or took their food to go. That included people that came in after us. When asked, the cashier rudely responded "the stuff you ordered takes 20-25 minutes to cook, do you want me to give you raw food?" When explained it has been half an hour and the people that came in after us got their food and they ordered the same food. The cashier didn't even bother to check on our order but yet got upset and raised his voice saying "what do you want to eat raw food?" After that response who would have an appetite to be eating their food? Not me. We asked for our money back and the cashier turns around telling the cook to not put our food together and saying that it's a good thing that we didn't put their food together in the first place. Just because I'm not Hispanic/Latino that doesn't mean that I don't understand Spanish nor speak the language. It's such a shame that racism still exist. This place has ok food. Not great tasting, nor horrible. The service is what made me give this place this rating. The owners should really consider secret shopping their restaurants. The prices are affordable, specially Wednesdays, and I think this is one of the main reasons why customers keep ok on going back. The food is great, but the young lady behind the counter looked like she just smelled a big bowl of shit! I am a frequent customer of the Tacos Baja in East LA, and I know to order the shrimp quesadallia with only shrimp and cheese. No pico de gallo, no sauce, nothing, just shrimp and cheese. I told the young lady exactly that, she looks at me and says that's the way it comes. Really? So 10 minutes later i get my food and of course the quesadilla has some type of sauce inside. I hate to be difficult, so I tried wiping it off but with all that cheese it's next to impossible. I returned the food to the gentlemen that had taken over while the young lady was on break and he told the cook to make me another one. Great food, shitty attitude! Seriously, it's that good. My folks go there every week on Wednesdays and they bought me some when I was visiting last week. They were incredible. So good that I went back today, which is a Wednesday. Why Wednesdays? Because fish tacos are only $1.00!!! I ordered 6. 3 for lunch and 3 for dinner. The only fish tacos that I've had that may have been better were from the fish market in Ensenada, Mexico. Best I've had here. I haven't had anything else on the menu because there's no need to. I love the fish tacos. Don't leave without getting the yellow chilis that are seasoned and baked. They're in the condiment cart and MUST be eaten with the tacos. Sooooo good. read more

Went in yesterday and ordered 4 fish tacos and 4 shrimp tacos. I get home to find out they gave me all fish. Smh. Had to get back in my car and return to tacos Baja. I go in and show the girl that I had 4 fish instead of 4 shrimp. She checks the receipt and ask where the other 4 are. I was dumbfounded and told her I wouldn't have drove back if my order was correct. She then comes back with the correct order. Just puts it in the counter with no apology, no here you go , have a good day, Nada. I couldn't believe the service. From getting my order wrong, having her insinuate it was correct, and not even taking responsibility for their own mistake. Terrible! The owner needs to train the cashiers on customer service. When there is a line out the door, thats a good sign the food is great, or people are stupid. I believe in the later. Try the staple Baja Fish Tacos, you cant go wrong with them. Add a beverage to quench your thirst after standing in line, but look for seating as that can be a problem. No need to know Spanish, they don't accept pesos but they do take credit cards. This review is based on my phone order experience. I was ordering lunch for a work meeting (7 people). The order consisted of 14 fish tacos, 8 shrimp tacos, 1 large campechana and 1 large shrimp cocktail. Simple right?I called in at 10:50 a.m. hoping to go in and have my ordered picked up by 11:30 a.m. The person who answered didn't specify how long before my order would be ready, like most other places do, I didn't get a chance to ask, but I figured half an hour for a call-ahead hour should be more than enough time. I get there, and of course, finding a parking spot took a little while since it was already lunch time and of course it was Good Friday so this place was busy. I forgot that this place does not have phone order or pick up line, so I wait in line. I tell the cashier I had a phone order, and guess what?! They hadn't even made my order!!! At this point it was already 11:45. Almost an hour after I called, and they never even started on my order. I got my order at noon, which was the time I was supposed to be back in the office for my meeting. I accounted for the drive time so there was no reason I should've had to wait this long especially since I was courteous enough to try to pick up my order before the lunch rush hour. The tacos may be good, but their phone order process is non existent. They shouldn't even act like they take them. I won't be returning to this spot. I would much rather drive an extra 10-15 minutes and go to the one in East Whittier. Oh and my last complaint, they were all out of their famous chile gueros and at no time did any anyone come out to replenish them. You are a seafood business, you should know you are going to be busy on Good Friday especially when you have such great tasting tacos. Get it together!! read more

Used to go to the Tacos Baja across the street from the AAA past the Whitwood Mall area.... Now i only go to this location due to its cleanliness and size!! Best Fish Taco i've STILL ever had, Bean and Cheese Burrito is also on point a.k.a DELICIOUS. (although sometimes the cheese isnt melted completely). Employees here arent as, for lack of a better word at the moment, "friendly" as the people at the other location i mentioned above. This spot is pretty dam good. Not greasy the breaded part of the shrimp is very thin the shrimp are nice church's. Over all a great tasting shrimp tacos. This place is small seating is limited and there's always a line out the door. But the line does move quickly. Okay here goes, The burritos here are massive, I'm 6 foot and 200 plus pounds and i can barely finish one. The price is amazing too, around $6 bucks for shrimp and fish burrito. the place is always packed to the gills (no pun intended). Some times i see lines outside the door that go around the building itself. I got their Baja Burrito (or something like that...i forgot the name lol) and it was very big, very tasty, and the price was like $6. I'm definitely going back again!
