Expensive, not very good and I won't eat there again. They need to improve on their carne Asada, tables need salt shakers, horchata is not sweet. My wife wanted a vegetarian burrito. Perhaps our mistake - it's not on the menu. We requested a burro with rice, beans, avocado and cheese. Seems simple enough. What we got was not even close, a tortilla loaded with a mystery mix of meat and vegetables. Lots of rather uninspired carne asada, a few grains of rice, a thimble size portion of cheese, some stray corn, tomato, a lonely lima bean, one sliver of green pepper, a micro smear of refried beans, and a few bits (as in itty bitty, not bites) of avocado. With the reviews of this place all over the map I didn't really know what to expect. We walked up to the counter and asked the gentleman behind what he recommended. He took time to explain the menu and gave us a couple options. I got 2 Tacos del Rancho and Bobbie got the combo plate with carne asada and birria with a side order of fries. All the tacos were great with lots of flavor and tender meat. The beans on her combo plate had a good flavor as did the rice but it was a tad overcooked and mushy. The fries, OMG I did not expect fries at a taco place to be that good. They were crunchy on the oudside and tender inside. We did not experience the bad attitude others did which was good. We'll have to come back and try other items and see if we get good service. read more

This was our first time trying Del Rancho today! There is A LOT of room for improvement, this restaurant has a lot of potential. Shredded Beef Nachos - Taste great. Shredded beef had slightly too much fatty pieces so kitchen can improve on cleaning their meat a little bit more 2 Carne Asada Tacos - Carne was a little bit too greasy. Maybe clean their flat top a little better so the excess from previous orders doesn't follow through on the meat? Horchata - was extremely bad.. zero cinnamon infused, and it was pure milk and too watery. I really hope they fix this issue because Horchata is my favorite Mexican drink. 1- Chips & Salsa - you can tell the tortilla chips were from a store bought bag and had zero flavor not even salted. Unfortunately the salsa was pure tomato with zero flavor. 1- Del Rancho Carne Taco - was the winner and the only thing I would recommend where effort was placed inside the flavor of the Carne, Anaheim, and Cheese wrapped inside the flour tortilla. I like the vibe here. We sat on the patio at night it was really nice. They have a condiment/salsa bar that is nice to get to choose what you want on your food. Just wish they put that much energy into making sure the food was good! $ 4.95 for one small taco with al pastor, meat was tough, salty, and cold! My Mexican wife had two carne asada tocos that were very small and nothing special. Rice was dry and flavorless, beans were also dry and old it seemed? My wife ordered the 6 peppers stuffed with cheese wrap in bacon and a very small piece of shrimp $15.00, the peppers were under cooked and minimal amount of queso. The Auga Fresca they say is "homemade" was nothing like homemade auga fresca I ever had? Lastly the staff not very friendly, they seem to just stare at you in confusion or whatever, but the place has a weird vibe to say the least! Won't be back! Get it while you can; I give them 6 months unless they get there act together? Too many good places in town to be serving this stuff! read more

I've been wanting a carne asada restaurant to open on the northwest side for many years. First Street Tacos and Beer came in and I was EXTREMELY disappointed with their product. Then, Seis opened a location on Oracle and I happily gave them a try to be just as disappointed. I drive through the intersection at Oracle/Orange Grove many times a week and watched and waited as the owners slowly completed Tacos del Rancho. We finally decided to try Rancho today expecting about the same poor quality as the aforementioned two restaurants. Boy were we surprised!!!! First, THANK YOU for using real wood fired meat. That makes the biggest difference. I ordered a combo carne asada plate to test their beans and rice and then added an extra 2 asada tacos. They had the center salsa aisle that had a salsa I have never tasted before and am still trying to figure out the favor profile. It was excellent. I also am a fan of the avocado sauce and their's was excellent. And then the biggest surprise that made me think of Hermosillo.... the grilled onions. Oh sure, Guero's has them but these were soooo much better. Not covered in oil but grilled like they should be. The tacos were filled with great mesquite tasting beef and there was a generous portion. The beans and rice were good but I was getting too full..:))). We will definitely be back to try some of their other items. One of the sides was a chile corn chowder that has me intrigued. Bottom line is don't bother with Seis or Tacos and beer but head to Rancho instead! read more

First time coming here and I will admit I was impressed! The staff was very nice and frendly. I had a few questions regarding their menu and they happily answer all my questions. I order their Quesabirria Tacos and it comes with the consome. I try these anywhere I can find them to see where they are the best and I will say THEY ARE THE BEST HERE! The meat was very clean, which is something I am fuzzy about. Once I taste and feel cuero, the fat, the whole dinner is ruined for me. So this is a huge plus! Their flavor was great and I wil say, the tacos are packed with meat. I also got the Chilis en raja, which is with cheese and corn and cream and I LOVE THEM as well. Their Toritos had some shrimp inside and they are in a sy sauce and lime juice and they where amazing! The carne asada and Tripas where also very flavorful as well as the adobada. I wish the adobada came with some pineapple as well but was still very flavorfull! I do like that the tacos come bare (only the meat and tortilla) because then I can add whatever veggies and salsas I want. Also, the flover tortillas taste like they where home made right there which makes it even better. I will be coming here more often. There are many more menu items I want to try and cannot wait til I return. read more

The carne asada tacos are good. The chicken taco meat is processed chunks of chicken that's been diced up. The elote is absolute garbage. The corn is either not fresh or not fully cooked and very hard and has no flavor. The mayo tasted a little sour. read more

Quesabirria tacos are delicious. And the guacamole is one of the best 3 I've had in town. That said, I've been here 10 times. They were not particularly busy any of those visits. Yet they have only gotten my order correct only 1 time. For example, multiple times no dipping sauce/consume with the quesabirria (the best part), multiple times no guacamole (not cheap), no beans, no rice, etc. Easier to catch and correct when you eat in. If you get take out, make sure you open every container to make sure you have received everything you ordered before you leave. It's a shame because, like I said, I think the food is good but I have friends and family members who refuse to go back because this place can't seem to get simple orders right. read more

We came through on a Saturday afternoon around 4:30pm. The restaurant was starting to get busy. We placed our order and received it within 10 minutes. My husband ordered a burrito which he enjoyed, although next time he will ask for more meat less beans. I ordered 2 birria tacos with cheese which I inhaled. I immediately knew I should have ordered 3! It was good, flavorful and tender, although I would have wanted the taco shell a little more crispier. I can't complain about the service, we didn't have much interaction with the servers. I do think and feel that they could have chips and salsa to be included in the meal. My husband and I have been coming here for a couple of years now and have to say this is one of the best Mexican spots in town.

Had really high hopes. Arrived and there was a line I walked closer and apparently the wifi/internet went down. Waited 5-10mins when they rebooted. There was no apologies from the counter staff on what was the issue. Staff not welcoming. I placed to go order and when I got home the tacos were a little greasy. What you order is what you receive. No salsa, no chips, nada. You help yourself to the condiments/salsa station. Not impressed get better service at the food truck. read more

We've given this place 3 tries....it started off to be decent, a little overpriced. Love the salsa bar and all the different condiments you can choose from. But the quality of the food has gone downhill tremendously! We gave it one last try last night and we were so disappointed. Not one bite of the carne asada in my tacos was edible, it was so chewy with gristle that I couldn't eat the rest of my tacos. My husband got birria tacos and the birria was nothing like we expected, not authentic whatsoever...just plain shredded beef that looked like it was warmed up. My grandma suggested Mexican and immediately I thought of Tacos del Rancho. I started to become excited thinking about the Carne Asada Tacos which I knew were a hit. When we got to the restaurant the smell of the tacos allowed me to transcend into southern texas with the slow Chris Stapleton playing. We go up to the counter and order our tacos and my grandma gets the Quesadilla. The food came out quick as only one Morgan Wallen song had passed. Just moved from California and we've been looking for a good taco spot. After several failed attempts this come the closest to it. Although there isn't any pastor, the asada and adobada tacos are pretty good. But my favorite part is really the bar of salsas! And the courtesy pre cut cucumbers! Tried this place for the first time today and LOVED it. I ordered the Mula and Chile en Rajas and both were bomb! Their salsa bar had all my favorites (grilled onion, radishes, guac salsa, cucumber). Very filling and spent less than I would at any fast food place. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. Staff were friendly and I got my food quickly. After eating here, I read from other reviews that the attitude and unpleasant interaction that I received during the ordering process was not unique to me. I felt scolded when I asked for some chips while I waited for my food - and was informed they would cost me more than an additional $3 bucks for a little bag of chips!! The cashier was not the worst part however. The tinga chicken was bland, the asada was lacking the unique and crucial flavor found in the best asadas, and yet the refried beans had way too much added to them to the point of losing their basic bean flavor. The taco sizes were pretty big, but more of mediocre isn't better. Tried a couple salsas as well, and again, nothing special to write home about. read more

Our new go to taco place! We tried the tripas, chicken, carne asada and Al pastor, all were delicious. My favorite was on the crispy toastada with cheese. Hubby really enjoyed his crunchy tripas on soft corn tortilla. Carmelo was good with flour tortilla. Lots to choose from in the salsa bar. Cute place and clean. Does have outdoor seating. The only negative, chairs are small for big booty people, we had to sit in a booth. Glad it's close to our part of town . read more

Not bad, but not terrific. Overpriced. The interior is creatively decorated and very clean, but I don't think it suits the cuisine; I actually found it slightly odd. Basic refried beans, bland rice, plain French fries. Tortillas were good, and my carne asada burrito was good (too bad I ordered Tinga). Slow to bring the food out, especially considering simplicity of menu. In short: in Tucson, great & fast Mexican food is everywhere. This place will need to step it up. Normally I keep my bad experiences to myself, but the gentleman up front has an extreme careless attitude and kept trying to force us buying more than what we were asking for, also kept turning away when talking to us leaning on the counter (unprofessional) I don't mind spending my hard earned money for good food, but $60 for one plate, an extra Chile relleno, and two drinks with plastic silverware and BAD service, was a little too much..
