We were in town from Lafayette, Louisiana looking for a place to watch the game. We had questions about what games were being shown and a food allergy question. Manager Chris went out of his way to make sure our questions were answered and we were well taken care of. Service was great throughout the meal as well as the food. Our teen son order a Cajun dish (blackened Cajun pasta) which we are always hesitant about ordering outside of south La and my husband, son and myself all thought it was delicious so it is officially cajun approved I also enjoyed the salsa. When looking in the area, a lot of the sports bars were 21+ so this is especially a great option to watch the games with minors. We would definitely return! read more

Showed up with my family on a slow Sunday after my son's baseball practice and sat outside as the sign read "seat yourself". We watched multiple waiters attend to the only other customers on the patio for ten minutes. Decided to move inside to try and get served. Sat down for another 10 minutes as customers were waited on and staff kept walking right by our table. Finally had enough and walked out to take our business down the road to Craft Grill where we were seated and waited on within minutes. Terrible service; won't be back. read more

Atmosphere is terrible. No one seated me and I ended up a few seats away from a threesome where a couple was being subjected to trash talk from the guy with them about a mutual friend. Sara was my server she was perfectly fine. She took my drink order and gave me some time with the menu. I ordered the Texas BLT and it was probably the worst BLT I've ever had mainly because the most important part, the bacon, was flavorless. It tasted like cardboard. The bread and veggies part was ok but I can't get past that bacon. I got the regular fries, there was a choice, and they were just ok. They did require lots of ketchup. I have no complaints about the Margarita I had, it was good. I would never go back to this place, it was hot in there with boring people. And that bacon was worthless. read more

Came here for the first time yesterday around 5-6pm. No host at the front, so I sat myself at the bar. I was greeted but was given no menus. I had to ask for a food menu. She never once came back to take my food order. I finished my first big beer and I had to get her attention to try to order an appetizer, food and another beer. When I asked her to take my order she said yeah but never took the order. Another blonde bartender (with a bottle opener sticking out of her underwear ) came back behind the bar and asked everyone at the bar if they needed something but skipped me! Finally the other darker haired girl came back over and asked if the other girl took my order, I said no. So she finally took it. I'm guessing the darker haired girl was new to bartending and overwhelmed, and her trainer should have been behind the bar not gone out on the floor. I knew she was new because she asked if ice goes in a Bloody Mary. My appetizer came hot but was given no napkins or silverware for it. When my tacos came they were really good but again had to ask for silverware. I was going to order a dessert but nobody ever came back, or asked how my any of my food was. The guy next to me had been trying to pay for a long time after he got his to-go order (with his money sitting out on the bar). I had my card sitting out on the bar and he finally yelled over to the bartender that he had to go and needed to pay. I had to flag them down to pay too. She gave me my payment and was going to run off but I was like I'm not leaving all this food, can I get a box?! She never wished me a good day or said bye or thank you or anything. I've been coming to Yailgators for a long time, I haven't been in awhile and was craving crawfish. I usually get very good crawfish at Tailgators and the price per pound is typically less than most places in the area. I was not disappointed ! Service was great and so was the food! I grabbed food here on a late sunday night and it's a pretty chill place with good vibes! Service was solid. Our waitress dealt with my indecisiveness which I greatly appreciated! Tailgators largely serves American pub food similar to a place like Chili's along with some Cajun offerings available as well. The decor is basically a sports bar. Lots of big screen TV's on the wall with various games on. The noise level can get a little high since it is a bar type atmosphere but not so much that you have to raise your voice too loud to be heard so it's still possible to converse comfortably. The portions are very generous and the pricing is extremely reasonable with most entrees in the $10-$12 range. I had the fried alligator bites as an appetizer. The gator was tender and the batter was light and crispy and almost reminded me of a tempura style batter. It was not greasy at all and had clean taste which indicates they must change their fryer oil often. My entree was a blackened catfish filet topped with a spicy crawfish parmesan sauce served over dirty rice and a side of green beans. It was delicious. Service was very friendly and attentive. Today's experience was by far one of the worst-case experiences. We have frequently stopped to eat at this location because this location is very close to our home. We had a waitress slam a glass of water, mumbled that "she'll get to providing service when she gets to it" because she's waiting on 8 tables. While this young lady is "expecting," her attitude definitely should not be used to justify the way she is providing serve to the customers. We asked if we could speak to the manager. A very young man came, and since he didn't identify himself as a manager, we asked if he was the manager. He never acknowledged the poor service but was very quick to justify the poor service to "they are busy." Unfortunately, "they forget that the establishment is busy because of us the customers." If the manager can not fulfill the needs of the patrons due to a lack of managerial skills, he needs to adjust and prepare for a Sunday/Funday busy day. read more

Tonight, I dealt with one of the worst experiences I have ever dealt with at any kind of service establishment. The restaurant was extremely busy, which we expected. It was a short wait. After a table got up, the waitress told us we could sit down and someone would wipe down the table in a second. When the bus boy came over, he was already rude, telling us to get up, instead of asking. I could not get back up due to a personal health issues. I told him I could not. He didn't respond and proceeded to spray the table. (In this situation I would have sprayed the rag). I even apologized if I'd come off rude in any way. When he was done, he proceeded to spray me with the cleaner. Like he actually fully depressed the trigger and sprayed me in the chest, causing it to spray onto my chin, arms and hands. Not only was it burning, but my husband had to go and find someone to get me a rag to clean it off with, which took way longer than it should have. We will never be returning to this location. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. Went there for dinner tonight. Of course the place was packed, waited over 20 minutes for a table. Once one came available, I went to sit down. I was told I could not sit there because it was just only me. They set three other people at the table I was going to site at. All because it was just me and no one else. I was asked if I wanted to sit at the end with the three other people. I said HELL NO!! What terrible way to treat someone. This is the first time I've been to Tailgator's since it was at the 2920 and Kuykendall location. I stopped in for lunch on a Friday. It was pretty busy in there for a weekday, so I'd say they are doing OK. The service is casual, you pick your own place to sit. I chose the bar. I started off with some Gator Bites. Alligator is usually a novelty item on a menu--I've had it a few times and it tends to come out like dry chicken. Tailgator's actually makes the novelty worth eating. It has a wonderfully crunchy outside, and is tender enough inside. It comes with a spicy mustard sauce that complements the crunch well. I liked them a lot. You can get gator as a protein in other items as well, it's obvious they are confident about it. For the meal I got a Bayou Po'boy with house chips. I absolutely love house chips, just about no matter how they are done, but these are done quite well. They are thick and crunchy, done to a uniform brown. Definitely try them. The sandwich was an overall good but interesting experience. The combination of Andouille sausage, chicken breast, grilled onions, cheddar cheese and mustard is unusual. Overall I'd say it worked but there were some construction issues--the cheese was kind of all in one spot. I like that they try things but would probably order something different the next time. The atmosphere is standard sports bar, unremarkable but there's plenty of TVs and good sight lines for them. They run viral videos on one TV for non-sports fans which is fun. The rest rooms were reasonably clean and ready during a busy time. The main reason for marking it down at all would be the slight food issues above, but mainly the service. My experience was fine, I was served politely, but it was overall pretty slow. From other reviews it seems this is the area they need to look at more. I didn't have a beer this time but it looks to be a real strength. They had an impressive set of local and national craft beers on tap. Overall, while it isn't perfect it's quite good, and deserves to make it, so I hope they hang in there. read more
