Samosa Chaat $6.99 for takeout. Comes with 2 samosas but I just photographed one. SO GOOD!

Are you fvckin serious? The price jump exponentially! It costs over $13 for Samosa Chaat and $18 for Butter Chicken (with tax). No matter how much I love their food, I'm not letting them price gouge me. These prices are way above market rate. What a way to lose customer!

the electrical system was just restored as I entered. was informed 30 minutes needed for the appliances to be warmed up. ordered at counter, paid. sat at 1 of 10ish tables available. watched the Bollywood movie while waiting for the food. only decor was food pics on the walls & the flatscreen... offerings: appetizers, wraps, vegetarian/meat curries, plates, sides, beverages, biryanis, breads. eats: tandoori mix grill (19.99) garlic naan & gravy -salmon was out so got a extra piece of lamb seekh kebob instead. -the 3 pieces of tandoori chicken were bright red, had no distinguishable taste. interior meat was dryish. -the 4 pieces of lamb seekh kebob were moist inside. taste wise didn't have much flavor. the green sauce was savory but the brown one was too sweet. -the gravy was masala, had a wonderful rich taste. -the thin garlic naan was greasy from the ghee, also was yummy. 3.5 stars the tandoori mix was off, the naan, chai, and masala was SPOT ON! chai (1.99) -very flavorful, strong chai, skipped the sugar as usual leftovers: -lots of parking in da lot.

Love the food here! Prepare to wait, and it's okay! It will be worth it! Always my choice for Indian food. The service is great! Staff is very kind and courteous. OMG! And the garlic Naan! Amazing!

I'm surprised to see this place being rated so low. Our favorite go to spot increased in their prices and decreased the portion sizes. We wanted bigger bangs for our bucks since we got two hungry teenagers to feed. I decided to check this place out. The curry that we ordered had so much meat and I think it was around $12(with taxes). I forgot to take pics; we were too hungry and dug right in. The food was really good. My family and I love Indian food, so this will become our go to spot. Service was also awesome!

The service was pathetic water was not served not even once,, there was a huge lack in terms of cleanliness (u can see the pic of napkin dispenser) dahi papdi was too much of sweet yogurt same story goes for paneer tikka masala it was hella sweet that i couldn't finish it garlic naan was good though

I went to an event in the Fremont area and was craving some Gol Gappe/Pani Puri. I came across Taj-e-chaat on yelp. They're open till 10:30 so my sister and I decided to stop by. We ordered pani puri and Papri Chaat. The Pani for the pani poori was one of the best I have had. The papri chaat was good but it was a bit sweet. There was too much sugar in the yogurt. I also had to add the green chutney myself and wish there was some onions in there. Anyways, overall I thought whatever we ordered was pretty tasty. I will definitely be returning the next time I am in the area to try more of their food. Side note : the bathrooms could use some upkeep. Granted it was the end of the day, the bathroom smelled pretty bad and wasn't clean.

I just found a cockroach in the Choley Bhature i just got from TAJ-E-CHAAT

For the entrees, we got a potlam goat biryani - a delicious biryani wrapped in a banana leaf served table side. We also got the Fish Pollichathu, a fish grilled with a tomato based topping that was wrapped in a banana leaf and served with a tapioca mash and rice. All the dishes were delicious. The portions are generous and we ended up with leftovers to take back home. Casual fine dining. Decent seating, good for groups. Decent prices. ***FOOD: we tried a whole bunch of items- *crispy baby corn-3.5/5- very crispy with a sweet and tangy coating indicating liberal vinegar usage. *malai soy chaap: 3.5/5: excessive usage of malai(aka fat). Indulgent and decent enough for a small serving. *vellulli kaaram paneer-3/5- lacked salt. Paneer was softish but felt a bit chewy and hard in places. *black pepper mushroom curry- 4/5- this was my favorite dish that evening. The fragrant curry leaves, earthiness of the mushroom and the black pepper created an intoxicating combination. It was floating in excess oil but was lip smacking delicious. *chilli garlic Naan: 4.5/5: I normally don't rate naan as they are non descript but the version here was wonderful. Thin, not burnt on the downside and paired oh so well with the mushroom curry. *Egg biryani- 3.5/5- this was spicy rather than being flavorful. Since it was made with egg, I didn't mind the spice.

But the manner in which the order is taken and the way in which they bring out the sides, especially the salan for the biryani is definitely disappointing. We ordered two biryani's - an egg biryani and a chicken biryani and they brought a tiny bowl of salan, which all put together is 5 teaspoons for a table of four adults. Really!! Check 3 points: the food is tasty definitely!!! However, the only downside is that the paneer starter is not well marinated; so the masala was only on the top. The insides of the paneer was just flat and insipid!! Cleanliness is lacking, the dirty dishes are in a cart right by the booth that we sat at. So the stench was emanating. We had to ask for water twice when the jug was empty, so the keen sense of observation and customer service is lacking! Overall, a place you can go to perhaps once or twice, but don't expect good service. The food is definitely Yum.

I always told myself that if a place smells this good, the food had to be amazing too. I am so glad I finally tried it, because the food wasn't just good, it was great! I will definitely be coming back. Here is a breakdown of everything we ordered during our visit: Appetizers Chicken Lollipop (Dry): Flavorful, well-cooked, and wonderfully moist. Best of all, it had more meat and less batter than most other places, paired with a delicious dipping sauce. It has a slight, pleasant heat without burning your tongue, which is great for focusing on pure flavor. Naga's Special Apollo Fish: This was the absolute standout of the meal! It was packed with incredible flavor, featuring a fantastic mix of yogurt, curry leaves, and green chillies that hit the perfect balance of tangy, cool, and spicy. Main Entrée & Breads Butter Chicken: A wonderful, harmonious blend of sweetness and spice, leaning slightly on the sweeter side. It paired like a dream with our garlic naan. (Tip: If you prefer more heat, you can always check with the staff about customization!) Garlic Naan: Soft, perfectly cooked, and completely free of that dreaded rubbery texture. It had a generous amount of garlic, a slight crunch, and was the ideal vehicle for the butter chicken. Drinks Fresh Lime Soda (Sweet): Refreshing and crisp. You can choose between salty or sweet, and we went with sweet. Pro-tip: Make sure to stir it thoroughly before drinking, as the sweetness settles at the bottom! Service, Ambience & Practical Details Service & Ambience: There are plenty of tables, though it can get busy during peak hours. Parking: The complex has plenty of parking spots, though it can get challenging on busy days, and some spots are a bit narrow. Keep in mind that the spots directly in front of the restaurant are mostly 10 to 30 minute parking zones, so it is best to park a little further back in the lot. Final Fun Note: Because the restaurant has such a wonderfully strong food aroma, be prepared to leave smelling deliciously like your meal! It is a small price to pay for such fantastic food and service. Highly recommended!
