Just came from TAKE 5 - in Feeding Hills...had one of my best meals - took me back in time to Aruba. I had Salmon with glaze and ginger with Coconut Cream Risotto and Steamed Spinach. Today for the dinner I went here for their five course for $20.00 but there'll be on here why the stars. When I got there I elected to opt to dine at the bar & saw their bar with locals in the area & the place was well stocked with spirits & such but when it came to getting the menu for the thing & also the service this is why the three. The food is pretty good & I will say this five-course thing is worth the money & if you opt for the prime-rib man that looks like a winner for a little more to the check. This place is a good value. Portions are large and come with soup and salad. The recent renovation has really freshened the place up, but made it somewhat of an echo chamber. Overall, Take Five is worth a visit if you're really hungry and don't mind a little bit of crippling yet reliable mediocrity in your day. I really have always wanted to love this place, and have come close a few times. But it's just kind of...okay. The chicken piccata was good. The salad was fresh and crunchy but the Italian dressing had been cut with so much water it was inedible; I missed the old self-serve salad bar immediately. We ordered Stella Artois but were served Steel Rail (I'll admit, this wasn't the worst thing ever and we drank it anyway). Pricing at the bar side is mid-level but it's nice and dark. Lots of comments here on poor service, but I've never encountered that; our most recent waitress, Natalie, was attentive, quick, and polite. Everything here slides easily into the third star, but just can't grab that fourth star yet. Would I recommend this place? Sure -- it can't hurt. Would I recommend driving more than 15 min to get here? Ehhh...probably not. Build a beer garden in that parking lot and then we're talking. read more

Food has always been good and tonight's experience was no exception. However the service needs work. I know we just ordered ice teas and not liquor but we should have been asked if we wanted a refill. We also weren't asked if everything was OK until the end of dinner. Food was good and impressed by the restaurant renovations. However they really should put some pictures on the wall or material around the windows to absorb some of the sound. Voices and sounds just bounce all over the place. Wouldn't take much to better the ambiance. We know we will come back but hope they pay more attention to the simple things. Christmas Eve was a little different this year and instead of cooking we ordered from here. We got there chicken parm with ziti, and the teriyaki ribs with Mac and cheese and wow was it good. The amount of food was spot on and it all tasted very good. We will be ordering both of those again. We have ordered on and off throughout the year but these two trays were excellent read more

Let me preface this by saying that I have not eaten here, because I was told by the owner on 8/5/18 that he could not accommodate my shellfish allergy and "could not guarantee anything". A far cry from other local restaurants, like Pasquale's in Westfield and even 99, who gladly accommodate my allergy by cooking my entree in a separate pan and changing gloves. I guess the cooks at Take 5 are not skilled in serve-safe techniques, so people with food allergies please take heed. read more

I have eaten there multiple times and have never had a bad meal. Franky and Louie are the best as owner/chefs and the wait staff are trained and operate like a well oiled machine. My wife recently had a heart attack and the boys adjusted her meals accordingly and both were very knowledgeable on what to serve her that would be acceptable and pass her Doctors orders. All in all this is one of the finest establishments that my family has used for family meals,retirement party,s, company party,s you name it they will cater it so if you need a place that has it all go and see for yourself and I am sure you will be back for another fine meal like we have. A favorite local restaurant of mine. Family owned and operated. Newly renovated and updated atmosphere. Friendly and responsive staff. Owners are working and cooking at establishment. Food is yummy! My favorite is the Mediterranean Chicken. The chicken parm is a great choice too. Meals include soup and salad. Nice separate bar area for single person dining or small/medium groups. Not sure what happened tonight but I got their special Montreal seasoning T-bone steak tonight. I'm not really sure it was a t-bone as there was no classic t-bone in the steak. It was full of cartilage and not really enjoyable. My gf had their bbq ribs, which were much smaller than the last time. She complained to me that they were rather fatty and nothing like what she's gotten in the past. So I'm not sure if they've went with a new meat vendor or what. Generally good food, but a recent visit proved differently. My partner had shrimp cocktail - shrimp were soggy and sauce mediocre. I had veal Oscar - veal medallions were fair, a little chewy, lobster tail was a good size but soggy. Prices are medium to high, but entrees come with their salad bar and soup. Local paper just gave this place a positive review so we thought we'd give it a try. luckily..we went on a tuesday night..a 5 course meal for $20!! it was out of this world and the bargain of the century. started out with delicious calamari....next home-made soup....decent if limited salad bar.....and a beautiful slab of roast beef. NOT some bargain basement cut but the real deal. for dessert..we brought home the cheesecake which was fine. our waitress,rachel was top notch..very perky and right on with the recommendations. its half bar and half restaurant but ALL good. read more

I almost Gave this place 4 stars for 1 reason only which is because they only had 1 bartender working on a Friday night. We decided not to wait 15 minutes for a dining room table so we sat at the bar The bartender was cleaning pouring drinks restocking and all. Get her some help!! With all that being said the prime rib was out of this world!!! Excellent value! I got a lobster tail and prime rib for 27.00 which included a delicious chicken & rice soup with salad bar. My wife got the veal Oscar for 22.00. That was also amazing. Job well done in the food dept. excellent hustle by the bartender wish I caught her name so I could mention her. I went to this place for stuffed mushrooms. They're ok. Too much grease though, I think they can use much less butter. The service is average and the place is clean for the most part. I will go again to see if I have a better time maybe I was just in a bad mood that day... I don't just stop going to a place if I have a bad experience the first time. This was the worst food experience I've had in a while! Water glasses had lipstick on them from the people before us. Food came out plain and overpriced. Had some good wings which is the only thing I would suggest getting. They somehow managed to ruin fried mozzarella, it came out flavorless and with sauce from a can. My boyfriend and I recently stopped here for dinner after a children's sporting event. this was his first time at Take Five, I had been here many years ago. He travels for work and eats out often. He ordered the Swordfish and I the clams. Just as I remembered the food was outstanding and fresh. The swordfish was thickly cut and moist, not dry as so often at restaurants. Cheap Italian food that is very overpriced for the quality . Everything is very salty to the extent a few of us didn't eat our meal. They don't have meatballs on the menu which was disappointing and seemed like it should be standard fare.l read more

My family had just gone to a burial and we were looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. Every other place was closed and finally one of my relatives recommended Take Five. I'm glad they did. I believe the owner or the manager took care of us and she did a great job. The Blue Moon bottles were ice cold and fresh. The salad bar was fresh too. The food was outstanding and the prices were affordable for the large portion sizes. I am so glad we went here. I will definitely return. Great food, nice staff and family friendly prices. read more

I have always enjoyed eating at Take Five. Last night 7 of us stopped at Take Five for dinner. There were 2 parties ( 1 maybe 10 people and the other maybe 12) already in progress, in fact 1 was finished. We were seated and drink order was taken. We had a new server, who was pleasant enough, but I would say his training was limited. Long story short, some of the cucumbers were rotten on the salad bar. We told our waiter, his reaction was it happens, and then we asked to see the manager. Our meals were served, 2 of them were carried home exactly they way they were served, not touched. The others close to it. You lose your appetite when you see slimy cucumbers. My complaint is not with the main course food. Days old food does not belong on a salad bar. More importantly, there was No one on the grounds that would own up to being in charge. The owner had gone home. Really? They even made the owner look bad. We were not asking for anything, just to be assured that this error would be corrected. Next time I will take the evidence to the Agawam Board of Health. Wish I had thought faster. read more

I've been wanting to have dinner here for a while, it had been many, many years since I'd been here. My wife and I finally decided to come up here on a Friday night around 530pm. Parking lot wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be, considering the time. But the dining room definitely started to fill during our dinner. We were seated and greeted right away, by the pleasant but nameless server. Drinks and fresh warm bread were brought out promptly. No suggestions offered by the server from a well rounded menu. However, one menu had dinner specials page and one didn't. So we had to inquire if they were available. I ordered Mom's pot roast from the specials, my wife had the chicken parmigiana. Soup and salad bar are included with all entrées. We both ordered chicken w/rice soup, served family style in crock type bowl. Soup tasted home-made with nice flavor and consistency. Salad bar was average and well kept. I was happy the entrée did not come out right away and we had enough time to finish the soup and salad. Chicken parm came out on a platter sized plate, and I knew right off I'd be having some of it for lunch the next day. Chicken was good and wife thought the angel hair pasta was fresh. I was a little disappointed when Moms pot roast came out. A mound of mashed potatoes covered in gravy, then covered with shredded roast. The beef was tender, but mashed potatoes were soupy with all that on top and baby carrots mixed in. I think I would have given four stars had I ordered the chicken parm, and if the server was a little more attentive to small details like keeping drink glasses full. Probably would not return, mostly because of proximity to home. And it was not good enough to recommend to others. read more

My wife and I went Friday night for dinner, New remodel looks nice but the place is extremely, extremely, loud, and echoes, like a gymnasium hall with no acoustics. Not a place for a quiet relaxing dinner. Food was OK, not great. Not a fine dinning restaurant. The Bar prices are way overpriced, had a bourbon Manhattan cost $14.50 ( No restaurant in this area charges that much for the exact same one) Questioned the waitress she went to check with the manager, she came back and told me that the price was correct. Because I questioned it I feel that the manager should have come to the table to explain but didn't. We split 1 appetizer,8.00, we each had the soup and salad bar, 11.00 each, and 1 drink each, total bill was 56.00+ not including tip. Unfortunately we won't go back read more

What a joke this place is! I ordered Chicken Parmigiano with chicken soup. The salad bar was included in the meal so we decided to start with that. We noticed there was rotten lettuce and brought that to the servers attention and her attitude was its not her job to fix it and then she walked away! We were there for an hour and nobody removed the rotten salad. Gross. When the soup arrived all 5 people at the table had to share the same soup bowl. Sorry not my idea of Fine Dining as claimed by sign outside. Soup tasted like a can of Campbell's soup, not very tasty. When my Chicken dish arrived and the pasta was under cooked and rubbery. The chicken was cold and tasteless. At this point I decided I was done with this place and let the waitress know I did not want the Chicken Parmigiano or anything else. When the check arrived I noticed they charged me $11 for the rotten salad bar. I asked the waitress to take that charge off and she angrily said not her job and said she would get the manager as she stormed off! I waited for 10 minutes for manager who did not come and then the angry waitress brought a new bill without the $11 and tossed it at me then walked away. Finally the manager came over to me with an attitude and wanted to know what the problem was so I went thru the whole ordeal with her and she just walked off! I wont be going back and with their attitudes I don't think they want PROBLEM CUSTOMERS back either. If you Enjoy good food then you should AVOID this place at all costs! you will have better luck with the Wendy's down the street! read more

Went there tonight. My meal and my husbands were good but my daughters fish and chips smelled like ammonia and we sent it back. She didn't want a new one, finished my dinner because she didn't want to wait. It was fine things happen. But instead of just taking my daughters meal off the check they charged us $11 for the small salad she did eat that was suposed to come with her meal. Not a great way to make up for a bad meal . We haven't been to this place in years. After our visit to the Shriners Circus, we went as a family for dinner. We noticed right away the renovation, both inside and out. Then we sat down and noticed the increase in prices! We waited about 20 minutes for our server to come over to take our order. Then we went up to the salad bar which was poorly kept up. One person in our party complained about the disgustingly slimy cucumbers and their response was just to refll the salad bar (not empty and replace the containers), and no one came over to apologize, not even our server. We finally got our meals and they were definitely not worth the increase in the pricing. Moderate at best. No one was impressed by any of their meals, if they were eaten at all. We didn't see our server for most of our time there. We were in the restaurant for over 2 hours, which was ridiculous. My husband had to FIND someone to pay our bill. When my husband asked to speak to the owner or manager, we were told that there wasn't one around to help. POOR POOR POOR service, and lack of caring. We will never go back to this place again! read more
