A bit disappointed by the New Mexican place in town. Could be that I ordered the wrong thing, but still! I ordered the vegetarian fajitas which were filled with frozen vegetables you buy at Costco. It had frozen carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. I didn't even get a picture of it, it was so disappointing. I will say that the tortillas tasted homemade and they were great! The burrito was also good but weird red sauce tasted off. Will try again but try different things. read more

I went here with friends for dinner. Everything was good from the margaritas to the entrees! We shared the margarita flight (watermelon, jalapeño, and berry). The watermelon was my favorite! For dinner, I tried the moley tacos and it was a different take on moley sauce. Most other restaurants make it with chocolate and they do not. It isn't overly sweet just a hint. I highly recommend. Overall, beautiful modern decor. And our server seemed overwhelmed but he never lost his composure. This place was packed. read more

food was great, staff was friendly! However, the waiter did not return our credit card with receipt and I didn't notice until I was in a store down the way. I called them right away and they said they would look through the cards and asked for my name and what card looked like. I replied I was in there an hour ago. They said we can't find your card. I told the lady I would come back there and look. she said ok. When we returned the hostess has a hand full of cards in her hand (more then 40). oue waiter noticed I was looking for something and said can I help you. I said we forgot our credit card, he said or is it black and walked up front and went right to the pile of cards. They made jokes about how people leave them all the time! I grew up in Texas, so living in Florida has been a constant search for good and authentic Mexican near me. This is the closest you can get to authentic Mexican food in this state. My favorite item to order is a bean and cheese burrito with queso on top. The queso is soooo delicious as well as the refried beans. My mom always orders the macho burrito with chicken. The margaritas are also always really good too. The skinny margarita is made to perfection. Every time I come to this restaurant, from the minute I walk through the door the staff is always super sweet and kind. The waiters are also always super helpful and patient. Placed a take out order through grubhub, waited 30 minutes longer than originally quoted. people who sat at bar after I arrived for pick up got their meals before I did. After waiting they gave away my order to another take-out customer. I had to wait for them to remake my order but they missed one of our dishes and I had to go back and pick up the missing meal, missing fajita tortillas, rice and beans. yes the manager Vincent credited the cost of meals but I am still in the hole $$ after having to drive back to pick up missing food. Large location with pretty decor and aesthetics inside. I ordered the Combinatios two items with shredded chicken: the tamale and the enchilada. I also ordered the guacamole as extra but it came pretty late into the meal and was a pretty tiny portion. I would recommend the enchilada but not the tamale. My friend got the Las Tablitas from the land option that came with steak, grilled chicken, pork carnitas, grilled cactus, and more. It was my first time eating a cactus! Wow what a shame the service sucked vs our first experience. Our recent trip was a polar opposite e experience from our first visit. We had been raving about the table side guacamole to our quest and were excited for him to try it. We had to wait which is expected on a busy night in Florida so we made the most of it and figured out what we wanted to order before we were seated. 25 minutes later we are at our table which wasn't cleaned and covered with greasy finger streaks. We gave the waitress our drink order and food order first thing and told her we would like the table side guacamole. She said it would be right out. She brings the chips and salsa and the round of drinks. The old which one is diet question comes up so I try mine and the Mrs drink to verify. She had the diet and I had the soapy soda. I asked the waitress to take the soda away cause it tasted heavily infused with soap or cleaning chemicals and requested a water instead. Her trip back was the last time we saw her till the food was delivered 40 minutes later. We waited patiently for the table side guacamole to come around and every time we heard the the clanking of wheels across the tile floor we thought it would be the guacamole cart. Nope not the case. Time after time we had the bus cart go by and no guacamole and no one stopping by to check on us. An empty chip basket sat at the table and so did our empty stomachs until the manager sat us just seating there with no chips, salsa or drinks. She said the food would be right out and I said we hadn't even gotten the table side guacamole yet. She rushed of the the clanking cart at the other side of the restaurant and spoke with the guacamole guy. The had gestures pointed towards us and he just shrugged his shoulders and turned the cart around back towards the kitchen as the waitress was arriving with our entrees. We told her to cancel the guacamole to which she offered a small side of guacamole for our meal so we said sure. The meals were okay but had been left in the window for a bit as my queso had developed a skin and the center of the burrito was mildly warm. When the check came the waitress had kept the soda that I sent back on the bill and added a side of guacamole to the check. She then apologized for the missed table side guacamole and told us it was on us to remind them as they are super busy and can't remember what people ordered!!! Seriously!!! You have a computer system to enter the orders, never come back around and it is on us to tell you what we ordered and when it should be delivered!!! And you keep a drink and add a side when your service screwed up?? Pretty much done with this place. read more

Lakewood Ranch needed a fun place like this! Not only is it fun, it's absolutely delish and the bartenders can make some seriously good drinks! We have been here twice now and I've been thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is funky, bright and festive with a Día de los Muertos theme and paintings to match. The bar area is sleek and the dining area has cool high-back booths creating a feeling of privacy. The restaurant is sooo clean and staff incredibly welcoming and attentive. That being said, please keep in mind, this place just opened a week ago and we were told they were having an issue with the staff shortages. So while we never experienced any issues, pack your patience, especially on a weekend evening. They greet you with complimentary fresh, hot, thin & crispy chips with two different salsas made in house. One spicy and the other mild. Both sooo good with small pieces of onion & tomato. Now to the drinks! I'm not a huge fan of mixed drinks and my fiancé is not a drinker, but this place really knows how to turn them out. The Patron marg is one of the best I've ever had. A perfect mix of sweet & sour. My fiancé ordered a Piña Colada, and I was shocked at how creamy and balanced it was. I'm not a fan of sweet drinks, but this one hit the mark. Lastly, on our second visit, we split the after dinner drink called the "Catina Cafe". A mix of Espresso, amaretto, Bailey's & Kahlua served hot w/ whipped Cream. I had to be convinced to try this, but WOW, glad I did. It was Delish! This concoction had a hint of coconut and a finish of milk chocolate. Everything we have tried has been on point and tasty. My fiancé ordered the beef/chicken (they also have a seafood) Molcajete which had with a deep, rich smoky tomato sauce with just a hint of heat and cumin. Definitely enough for two people (the potions here are LARGE). I had the Carne Adobada which was pounded flat and perfectly seasoned, topped with a mound of grilled onions. It was served with very tasty jasmine yellow rice and refried beans (yes, even the sides were delicious). Lastly, if you love guacamole, get it! It is made table-side and I highly recommend, as you can choose exactly what you want in the amount you want. This place was great from start to finish! It was a Saturday night and we were seated rather quickly. The complimentary chips and salsa were great and they were quick to bring us more after we went through the first basket. We ate here with friends during our move to Florida from Michigan and I can honestly say that we will be making this a regular place to eat. I got the Caribbean Bowl and it was amazing! Lots of big pieces of steak and just the right amount of rice, red onion, avocado, corn, tomatoes, black beans, and sour cream. I am drooling just thinking about it. My husband got the Carne Adobada. It was a thin layer of pork, marinated in vinegar and spices then grilled. It was topped with grilled onions and was served with jasmine, rice and beans. It looked amazing and my husband told me that it was. I had a bite of the pork and it was indeed very good. Both of our friends got the Super Chimichanga and they said that it was great. Decided to try a new Mexican place. First off: the environment. It's a very colorful cute Mexican-themed restaurant. They have booths, tables, and a bar. It's located in a strip mall near Walmart. All the servers and hosts were very friendly and always checked up on us. Second: the food. I ordered the chicken enchilada which was a bit lackluster. It just really lacked that unique pop of flavor. The fried yucca was really good, though. I would probably return to try their tacos just because the service was really good. read more

My wife and I went to Takos 4-29-25. The service was almost unacceptable and that was the highlight of the day compared to the disgusting food that was served to us. Takos has NO CLUE what Mexican Food should be. Garbage rolled up in a tortilla is not Mexican food!! If I wanted disgusting Mexican food, we would have gone to Taco Bell. Ordered a salad for take out for first experience. I asked, are the ranch dressings in there? The young lady at the hostess stand said, oh I forgot to tell them...hold on. So she went to get the salad dressings. It was good, however they didn't have it in a container that would close, completely open...a salad?! Days later, I returned to dine in and brought them two additional customers...well the service was awful! We ended up getting our small queso after all the chips were gone, waited forever. The female server never offered to bring more chips...I had to ask so we could actually have the queso. Seriously? Then she was gone! She wouldn't check on us, we need drinks, napkins and our salt shaker was covered in a sticky disgusting mess from someone else and salt wouldn't come out. Table hadn't been cleaned properly. Icing on the cake?! They charged me $3.50 for a small basket of chips!! When I called the next day the female said, no you shouldn't have been charged for the 2nd basket of chips...let me check with my manager and I'll call you right back. Never called, yet I received a text from them shortly after asking me to give them a "5 star review." Seriously? This is so tacky and unprofessional...I tried to handle this earlier...now I'm here writing this review. There are too many other great places nearby that value their customers... read more
