Great ambiance! We went for lunch and they had lunch specials.... My husband got the supreme burrito that he said was very good! Whenever I go to a new (to me) Mexican food restaurant I get a shredded beef taco (if they have shredded beef... if they don't it an automatic no go for me) and cheese enchilada.... I get this because if they mess that up they probably can't make anything else right! Takos did not disappoint!!!! And there drink special was a skinny margarita that did not taste skinny and it was awesome!!! Yikes. Even in this area of Florida, where it's tough to get a good Mexican or Tex Mex meal, this place falls below the average. We got two entrees, one of which was a steak, that looked and tasted reheated or microwaved, along with the actual cut of meat not being the freshest. The second entrée was enchiladas and, as tough that is to mess up, even that tasted stale and old, made with low quality ingredients. Chips and salsa were from a Sysco bag for sure. Add to that the wait with no one at hostess table and that same hostess presumptuously asking whether I needed change for a takeout order , and you have a recipe for this to be a one and done exercise. We had a little bit of a delay getting chips to our table despite the server asking for someone to bring them 3 times. I server was great though. Great ambiance with good music. We were so excited to when this opened but after a few times here we were hopeful they would get it together. We We're sitting at the bar and It took us 20 minutes to get a water and chips. 30 minutes to get a drink. Never got our appetizer. Over an hour to get dinner. We really want to love this restaurant. Been here twice. First visit - waited a long time to be seated. It was worth the wait. The food was amazing. Had the Molcajete Rancheros...outstanding! Went back tonight, no wait for a table on a Tuesday night. Drinks were great. Table side guacamole was great. Ordered the same dish as the last visit. We waited one hour and 45 minutes for our meal. Several tables were seated after us, ate dinner, paid their bills before our dinner was served. We asked several times the status of our order, each time the waiter told us it was on its way. When we finally received our dinner it was cold and looked like slop. See the pics from each of our visits...same dish. Tonight, it tasted as bad as it looked. Very disappointed. Hope they get their act together. We won't be back to find out. read more

My parents took me here for my 44th birthday, the place was super cute! Starting from the out side and in. Was disappointed with my first drink, I ordered a coronanita but the waiter brought me a plain margarita. When I asked why he said they ran out of the baby Coronas and the ponies for the drink. It would have been better for him to tell me and ask me if I still wanted it or choose a different drink. The food was delicious and they make the guacamole right at your table. What a great local restaurant! I happened to be in this plaza waiting for my car to be serviced and saw it - sure glad I did! The decor is great, the staff is very friendly, the food is fresh, plentiful and delicious and the restaurant is impeccably clean. The salsa is really good and they bring both hot and mild to your table. I had the lunch portion chicken chimichanga which came with rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce and pico - way more than I could eat! Next time we'll come for dinner and I'll try a margarita! Ok where to start? I took in mind when writing this review that they had only been open for three weeks. The restaurant is really nice inside and it was clean other than the slippery entrance. The tables are artistically painted and The Day Of The Dead theme is depicted beautifully through the restaurant. They have a well staffed bar with seating and tables for two and rather large groups. The food was decent not give star. Why you may ask ? Well the chips were not freshest, the tacos were split on the bottom therefore you couldn't pick them up though very good taste. The beans were watered down tasted out of a can and just as important the food arrived cold! On a better note the presentation was appealing and the freshly made rather large guacamole the gentleman made at our table was incredible but also $10.00. The service needs a lot of work or training for sure. We were seated and had to wait about 30 minutes before our waitress came to ask if we wanted something to drink and then it took almost as much time for her to bring unsweetened tea and water. Promptly she told us she had to attend another table real quick before we could order but that took a while as well. Then we were about to order when another waitress came over and pulled her aside and the argument began until there were three ladies arguing. After the spat ended we were told we have a new waitress though we saw our first waitress running around waiting tables that arrived after us. The second waitress was a nightmare! We ordered dessert and she totally forgot and we were exhausted whee we n she returned to ask us if we wanted dessert again. I asked for a to go box and what she gave us our check. I flagged another waitress and asked if she could please give us a box and well as you probably know didn't happen. I believe they are lucky I gave them three stars. So would I ho back? Finally! We moved here from San Diego about 5 months ago. We have been searching for THE Mexican restaurant and have finally found it. Takos Cantina is the place! The ambiance is delightful. Day of the Dead theme with a colorful bar, booth seating as well as large tables to accommodate larger groups. The food was fantastic. The pulled chicken in my burrito was muy bien.
