I am absolutely disgusted at what I observed earlier today at WestBean Coffee. Around 10:30AM a woman who was clearly blind and had other disabilities was ordering a coffee and the girl at the register was extremely disgusting towards her. The worker was rude when the customer asked questions about the menu and even told the customer to look herself, in which she responded that she is fully blind. Her drink rang up for over $10 and when the customer exclaimed that that is a lot and asked why does it cost so much the rude worker yelled "then you don't need to get coffee here!" Absolutely no patience at all and so evil. It takes absolutely nothing to be kind and patient to others. Great place to get coffee in the liberty public market! There wasn't a line when I stopped by and my drink came out very quickly. I had the cold brew - it was good, went down easy, and did the job. The prices were standard/reasonable and all the baristas were friendly. Came around today for the 1st time and had their Honey Cinnamon Iced Latte with almond milk and it was fantastic!! The espresso tasted smooth and the combo of flavors was great. The only reason it isn't a 5 star is because it's very expensive, nearly $8 for a 16oz iced Latte. I'll be treating it more as a rare treat vs coming often. read more

This establishment is receiving a 1 star due to the fact that they misheard my order and refused to fix the problem. I ordered 3 hot chocolates for my kids, they only made 2. When asked they said they only heard us say 2 instead of 3. So we asked if they could make another one. They said we had to get back in line (the line was very long) in an extremely snotty tone. I was really looking forward to trying the coffee at West Bean but was disappointed. I don't see lavender lattes often so I jumped at the chance at ordering one. It's basically a latte with lavender syrup. The person who made it didn't measure out the lavender syrup even though another barista next to him told him he needed to measure the amount when making this drink. The lavender latte tasted pretty weak to me. I also ordered the kryptonite, which was the mint infused cold brew. This was the most disappointing drink since it came out watery and diluted. Stopped by to get a quick green tea before heading out into the cold to see holiday lights on candy cane lane. I can't speak on their coffee but I really enjoyed their green tea. Service was wonderful and speedy. Their cups are incredibly insulated. I didn't think my tea would stay warm until we reached our destination about 30 minutes away. But when we got out to walk my tea was still very warm. The I kept the tea bag in the entire time, it wasn't overpowering. It was a very subtle but good flavored green tea. I loved WestBean downtown when I used to work nearby Horton Plaza. I've visited their downtown location since Day 1. I was thrilled to find them at Public Market.. I swear the nitro coffee was in a bigger cup. It was so tiny.. like those little cocktail cups you get at a wedding. What happened? I remember a big frothy cup.. 10 or 12 oz worth of delicious coffee.. you could imagine my surprise when I got this tiny pee cup worth of delicious coffee. Maybe it's been awhile.. Coffee and drinks are on point... . Got here on a busy morning, but talk about making drinks, they were quick on their feet and pushing out those drinks really quick. The guy who took my order was friendly and looks like he really likes his job. . The drink i got was kryptonite, minty, lightly sweetened, and refreshing for the early mornings. It is quite strong as well, i really had a hard time either getting the nitro or cold brew... But the word mint always sell me. This drink reminds me of philz mint mojito ice coffee. I was quite surprise with the variety they serve in this small corner space. Might be limited but looks like a good variety on the menu to me. . Overall if i am in the area i am for sure going to this place. The convenience from where i live is very nearby and this place serves some good drinks, I'm down for more when i visit. I hate being a Yelp complainer, but I think bad experiences should be a part of the rating. I ordered an iced latte with the cashier but the barista ended up making a hot latte. I notified the barista that I asked for iced who then looked at the cashier who straight up said, "He definitely asked for a hot latte," and then scoffed and rolled his eyes. Okay, so first of all, I love the lattes at WestBean. I'm usually not a huge coffee fan, but their coffee is not bitter at all and is super satisfying. That said, the customer service at this location needs some work. They have listed hours, but are not always open during those times. On two separate occasions, I've walked over only to be told that they are not open. One time the whole group was on a break and the second time, she said she was still calibrating the machine. Why list specific hours then? It seems like they need to reexamine their work processes or adjust the hours. read more

They use some good quality milk (I grew up on normal 2%, so any deviation from that is pretty detectable to me), and there is a good balance between the creaminess and the espresso flavor, along with some good sweetness from the caramel (albeit a tiny bit too sweet for my taste). YES! A thousand times yes! Located in the center of Liberty Station lies this jewel made of coffee. Initially I had drug my boyfriend over to the other coffee place towards the end of the row and boy what a mistake that was! The boyfriend likes to remind me of that too. This set up is awesome: it's sleek, classy, yet very hip. I absolutely loved my latte which was beautifully created as well. The coffee had a distinct and bold taste that made the latte even more delicious. It was smooth with the almond milk yet creamy. My boyfriend had the Lavender Latte that he really enjoyed as well. I am truly shocked to see a 4-star review. My husband came here last Sunday for two drip coffees - one with "a little cream" and one with "a little more cream than that." Because of Covid obviously, you cannot add your own cream. He came back with two coffees that were literally white. I took a sip and spit it out; it tasted just like cream. I went back and asked for a redo with cream on the side. The baristas did not apologize and actually forgot about me standing there for about 10 minutes. One of them said his "ratio was off," but it should be good now (it had only been about 15 minutes and there was no line either time, so I doubt they had already prepared a new batch, but maybe?) I took the two drip coffees with cream on the side to my husband and upon first sip we both looked at each other. Oh! The coffee is just awful. Maybe the beans were good if prepared properly, but it was incredibly watered down and undrinkable. After the tip, we spent $8 (!!!) for two 12 oz drip coffees that we ended up throwing away. Not only was the staff incredibly unfriendly, but the coffee was pitiful. Needless to say, next time, I'll take a caffeine headache over this spot. read more

I love West Bean coffee! Their lavender latte is my favorite. It's very delicious, not over powering with lavender flavor. If you come right when the market opens on weekends, there isn't a line. However, if you come during mid day it can get kind of busy because this is the only place inside of the market that sells strictly coffee. read more

Their coffee drinks are solid! They never disappoint on that aspect - however there were a few mishaps when I visited on Saturday morning on September 12. COVID-response review: 1) Hand sanitizer is NOT AVAILABLE 2) They do NOT disinfect the touch screen in between customers 3) Person touching the screen is also touching espresso machine and not washing hands Also - I ordered an americano and asked for a splash of almond milk. I was charged an extra 75 cents for that. FYI no other coffee shop has ever charged extra for almond milk in an americano. The barista literally added 2 tablespoons to my drink straight from the carton - this does not warrant an extra charge. No other WestBean charges extra for that and that is absolutely absurd they did! It's a rip off and extremely disappointing.
