This, Moxie, Mercantile in Denver as well as Hillstone and Quality Italian top our list of Denver / Boulder restaurants. I'd take this over Frasca fancy restaurants any day. Your belly will be full and your soul filled. I'd suggest branching out. Try something new you are unfamiliar with. I've yet to be disappointed when I went out on a limb. I tried baigan bharta, an eggplant dish, and despite not often being an eggplant fan, SO GOOD. Order it. You won't regret it. I also loved the samosa chat and my husband raved about the classic chicken tikka medium spiciness. It's family run, very clean, and the staff are welcoming. The owner and, I think, his son run the business and they care a great deal about giving those who visit their restaurant an authentic, warm, delicious experience. Wow, I can't believe I have driven past this place for so long. I went to the lunch buffet, and have been to many Nepal lunch buffet, and I was very impressed. First, we were immediately greeted as we came in, and although there were some empty trays at the buffet when we arrived they were filled promptly. Authentic and Delightful Indian Meal Tandoori Kitchen is fabulous! Some of the best Indian food I ever had. We ordered chicken tikka masala, tandoori mixed grill and naan (a must) for dinner. The tandoori mixed grill was delicious - it had a very generous portion of chicken, lamb and shrimp with a side of tikka masala sauce (plus vegetable and rice). The meal was wholesome, reasonably priced and more than adequate for 2 hungry people. Food was tasty and service was great. I think the owner took our order. I received a gift certificate from my kids for Mother's Day for Tandoori Kitchen in Lafayette. This is a relatively new Indian restaurant which I had wanted to try. We started out with drinks and samosas. I've had these at several other restaurants but these were the best I've ever had. The entrees we ordered were Baigan Bharta and Mattar Paneer. Both were delicious and they accommodated us by going very easy on the spices. We originally ordered from a young man and then a older gentleman came by to check to see how we liked the food. There was also a young woman who came by often to remove plates and bring more drinks. We felt very well taken care of. The food was wonderful and the waitstaff extremely attentive. The food here is great and better priced relative to many of the other Indian spots that we've tried. Not excessively oily or salty, but well-seasoned/spiced. New Indian food close by, so we dropped in to have a taste. The menu looked delicious, with a tempting variety of Indian and Himalayan treats. We finally settled on a tried and true standby, Tikka Masala with chicken, and asked for medium spice. What we actually got was a creamy sauce filled with breast meat chicken morsels, but the sauce was barely mild at best. Still enjoyable but missing that extra spice boost. We also ordered the Himalayan momos, reminiscent of wontons with a chutney dip. Pure heaven! The service was decent but needed more attentiveness. Wow!! I'm SO beyond excited this place is down the street. We ordered takeout last night and it was fabulous! My husband had the lamb vindaloo and I had chicken tikka masala and both were so yummy! A great spot. We stopped in before Brew Fest for a quick bite. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The buffet was clean and well stocked. It wasn't crowded, so the kitchen kept pans part full and refilled often, which keeps the food fresh and hot. I really liked the tandoori, very flavorful. Family owned and operated authentic gem!!! We wanted to try India foods and this is the place to do that. We found this via Yelp, read the few reviews and so glad we went. First thing, walking in the door, a few ladies were leaving and smiling, said to us, "your going to enjoy this". That's exactly what happens here, you enjoy every plate, everything served fresh. Very healthy delicious choices. Mango confi for dessert was refreshing and they have a liquor license so you can relax with a nice adult beverage. We've been several times and are falling in love with this restaurant. Each time we go we find the food is getting better and even more delicious! And the staff is super friendly - they recognized us the first time we went back for their (awesome) lunch buffet and thanked us several times for trying them out again. We have been for lunch and dinner, and tend to prefer the lunch buffet only because it's so hard for us to pick what to order! Also - very hard to complain about the price of the buffet at $10! The buffet seems to rotate the offerings so you won't always only see the same dishes - but the fan favorites are there! It would be impossible for my to recommend only one dish. We think it's worth the drive from Westminster to dine here. The chicken soup is delicious as well as the vindaloo with various degrees of heat and tandoori chicken dark bone in or white meat skewers.
