I went here last night for dinner after spending the afternoon with friends. I got the Galbitang noodle soup and it came with two short beef ribs soaked in this warm soup, with glass noodles, green onions, egg, dried jujube, and cooked radish. The meal also came with a small cup of rice. Based on the reviews, I was excited to try Tang Jip. However, the lackluster service and ambiance on a non-busy weekend afternoon was disappointing. There were two young men working, neither of whom greeted any customers with a smile or any cheer. In fact, every time they walked by, they seemed to studiously avoid eye contact with any customers. I had to flag our waiter down for refills and napkins, and even walk to the back to get the bill to pay. While our main dishes were fine, but frankly not remarkable, the bonchon was disappointing; three out of the five dishes were super spicy. I inquired but no substitutions are allowed. read more

I ordered from doordash bulgogi and tofu soup for $30+ and the portion is huge, it can feed 2-3 hungry people with you have extra rice at home. The flavor is great. The tofu soup is not too spicy. They include some banchan and white rice. The package was good. read more

Don't be fooled by this restaurant and their false online menu to drive business. I drove 45 minutes today to try the Tang Jip restaurant with friends based on the lunch specials they promote on their website. When we arrived and asked about the lunch specials they promoted on their site. We were "steered" by the waiter to similar items which were $9 more per plate and much more expensive than the specials they advertised. They said, "Oh, our website is out of date, and I'm just a waiter and can't help you. I already told the owner several times the website is wrong." What a terrible way to run a business! We immediately left and a few doors down had a wonderful experience at Oghane Korean BBQ, with more choices, much better value and even lower prices than the Tang Jip website specials they falsely promoted. My advice: Dump Tang Jip and try Oghane Korean BBQ, a much better, and more honest, value for lunch. read more

We loved both dishes! The short ribs was amazing, meat was so soft and tender and I love how there's so many other stuff that they put in that dish. The other dish has a delicious flavor to it-it was cheesy and had a great spice to it. I only took away 1 star for 2 reasons: it took a while for the waiter to take our order and I wish they had more other sides. We didn't like any of the sides except the kimchi. read more

One of my new favorite Korean places! Food is delicious, bossam is so good I've gotten it every time I eat here. Best rose tteokbokki I've had so far, I love the longer rice cakes they use. Both cold noodles are very flavorful and the bibimbap is good. There's a cute little robot that brings over the food. I went there after my mom arrived from Korea and I'm glad I brought her here! We ordered: Mulnengmyun Jokbal Rose tteokbokki Mulnengmyun was my favorite pick. I loved the vinegar and wasabi sauce they provided. Jokbal was soft and definitely felt like they put work into it. Rose Tteokbokki was my husband's favorite. He normally doesn't care for tteokbokki but he loved it! He said it is fancier version of pink buldak noodles! When you order Jokbal large, you can also get some cold spicy noodles Our server was really sweet as well. Kelly was quick and checked on us frequently. We enjoyed great service and great food Can't wait to go back and get more food. read more

I could not recommend this place more. The food is good and service is fast. The food delivery robot is a fun touch and even says thank you as it rolls away! This is the best korean restaurant in the Concord area hands down! They offer an abundance of Korean dishes and their quality is pretty good. Their price has gone up throughout the years but they have also added more items as well. The service is alright and sometimes you do have to flag them down but that's most korean places. read more

I was excited to try out this restaurant. However it was not a good experience at all. We were seated but weren't given menus. We figured they'd eventually provide them. After waiting 10 minutes I decided to go up and ask for them. - this wasn't a big issue to me but it should've been a clue. I was surprised to see the food was pretty pricey. It took a while to get the food and it wasn't much considering the price. Everyone at our table received their food (which took a while to arrive) but mine didn't arrive until everyone at my table had finished eating. All I ordered was bibimbap, nothing that should've taken as long. I asked the status of my order two times (by the second time, my family had already finished eating their food) but my order was never checked on. Both times I was just told "I know" by different servers. They didn't go to the back to look into it. Three groups arrived after my table but their food was served before mine. The servers were disorganized. I was treating my family that night. Since I had a bad experience I didn't intend on leaving much of a tip. However when I got my bill, they gave a "discount" but made up for it by charging a 18% service fee! I asked about it and was just told I don't need to leave an additional tip. It made no sense because they only served 5 people: 4 adults, a 2-year old child, and a 6-month old baby who sat on her mother's lap the whole time. i enjoyed a Korean place in Walnut Creek before Mixed Grain,, it had my favorite Chicken soup with pickled garlic and lots of Vegetables and i have been looking for that soup. Sort of close was a place in Pacific East, Tofu house gone with the pandemic. so Tang Jip had nothing like that. In fact all the soups were beef or port, and so i got a hot stone bowl with chicken, and i expect a hot stone bowl to have the crispy rice on the bottom, this did not. The place did have a big screen tv with Kpop , which recently i have enjoyed Twice a kpop group but , there were no subtitles and i wished the screen would have identified the groups, and it was interesting and odd, these groups all seem to dance kind of similar, music kind of similar and the editing and camera work it hard to believe there is room for so many groups that seem about the same, though i like Twice. I am still looking for the Chicken Korean soup with lots of vegetables and pickled garlic and it is not here. read more

I think the photos speak for themselves. Bibimbap was buss(really good). Served in an iron bowl, sauce comes in a bottle so you could choose how much you want, and the egg is cooked just perfectly. As good as this dish was, I kind of wish I got the beef soups which I forget the names of. Literally either of the beef noodle soups /are so good, broth is very rich. My friends ordered those soups and I wish I ordered them. Don't get the rosé tteokboki unless the whole table is going to share. read more

Dishes we got were on the heavy, or fatty side including the pancake with mayo on it, galbi tang, and rosé tteokbeoki. All were tasty, but not the best or greatest value. Came in with workers on break and 10 tables needing cleaning. Waited a few min before going to the back to pick up my order. Nice packaging. Nice interior. Overall, seems fitting for the area. Delicious food! Got the ox tail soup which was more seasoned than I was expecting which I had absolutely no problem with because it was perfect. The meat itself was a bit tough but I don't mind a challenge as it was still very tasty. The seafood pancake was one of the best pancakes I've had. Light on the batter and generous with the important stuff (green onion and squid!). The bossam... perfect. The saamjang tasted home made and delicious. We came on a Friday lunch time around noon. 2 adults + 1 infant in a stroller. The place wasn't even 1/3 filled and the older lady hostess said to pick any table so we sat ourselves in the corner booth where baby and us can be out of the walk way, and have a space for the baby stroller. Then the other (younger, shorter hair) hostess walks over to our table and asked us to get up and move all our things to the 4 seater tables where there's no place to put stroller. She said because the "table you're sitting at are for more guests, and there's a lunch rush". Its a rainy windy friday. 2/3 of the tables were still emptied. It was so slow the workers were just standing behind the counter chatting most of the time. I would've grabbed my baby and left, but my sister had been wanting to do lunch here so I didn't want to make a scene. Finally i think the hostess realized how illogical her request was and said "fine i guess you can stay here" Tang Jip: Why don't you learn to train your staff to accommodate guests with little ones when clearly, you CAN? It made no sense at all to ask us to move all our things when we already were told to sit at any table; and where we were had easier access and protection for our little one. We were there for about an hour and only 4 more people (2 tables) dined in. There were more than enough tables, and clearly no "lunch rush" I have been here with my family gathering dinners 3-4 times before, but will likely suggest a different place to dine for our next gathering now. read more

Love this place. I think it has the best seafood pancake in pleasant hill/concord. I've tried spicy pork bbq, short rib bbq, and bibimbap. The short ribs are really good and succulent. Review for a Friday lunch for 2, January 2024: - 5/5: seafood tofu soup, medium spicy. This is what I had with amazing flavours. Lots of tofu and seafood! Medium spicy didn't kill my taste buds and I can still taste the subtle seafood flavours. - 4/5 seafood pancake appetiser: great flavour and lots of ingredients! Not as crunchy as I would like but would get again! Love the sauce it comes with! - didn't eat: my friend got the Kimbop which looked great but I didn't taste it. -4/5 banchan: came with about 5 banchan. I liked the originality of the dishes but I think I missed the small little fish I get at other Korean places. I will ask next time if they had it! - OVERALL a solid 5/5 for delicious food, service and cleanliness of the restaurant and bathroom.
