In a humble strip mall with minimal decorations and a simplistic menu lies Tang's Haus, one of my favorites that I will return to time and time again and will recommend to anyone in the area. I have noticed that through the years more items have been added to the menu (now includes a back side!), but that does not compromise on the quality. The seolleongtang ($20) always comes out light, rich, and packed with umami flavor. For a dish with three components (broth, meat, noodles), there is nothing to hide behind, and each one is executed to perfection. Flaky salt is added to your own taste, which is always satisfying to scoop and stir in. Tang's Haus also features tableside service, from the cutting of their housemade kimchi to them packing up your leftovers. One of my favorite aspects of Tang's Haus, and I'm glad they continue to dedicate themselves to quality service after all these years. Check always comes with chocolates (Hershey, so good quality). We had to wait about 25 minutes for a table of four to open up. But the server was very kind, and got us situated quickly. We placed our orders, and they came out very soon after. I got the Galbi Tang. The broth was rich and the meat was tender. I wish it came with more of everything. My partner got the Combination Sundubujjigae, and although I am usually not a fan of tofu soup, this was very good! However, the bulgogi bits in here were minimal. The service is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Not too many banchan dishes but the ones they do have are solid. The kimchi pancake was one of my favorites of the meal. The lady cuts it up and puts in on your plate for you. Crispy and flavorful. Their kimchi is fresh and not overly sweet, which I think makes the pancake extra delicious. This Korean restaurant definitely gives you a homey/comfort food kind of feel which is especially nice during the winter. Located near Sunright, there is plenty of parking. I came here on a Saturday night with a friend around 8pm and while it was on the later end for dinner, there were still some other parties dining so I think that speaks to it being a good spot for dinner. The restaurant is small but definitely gives off a cozy feel. I got the galbi tang and my friend got the Seolleongtang and both were delicious! Love that the broth was flavorful yet still had that clean taste that a good tang has. The meat was tender as well. Love the banchan they gave. The staff was super attentive and despite being the last ones in the restaurant, they let us enjoy our food without pressuring us to leave (although we were mindful of the close time so made sure to finish our food in a timely manner). Adjust the saltness levels based on your preference. * Seolleong Tang: Sliced beef brisket, white noodles, green onions, comes with rice. Clean broth. * Kkorigom Tang: Oxtail, white noodles, green onions, comes with rice. This one is probably the best thing on their menu. The oxtail is so tender with their silky broth. *Kimchi Jeon (pancakes, 3 pieces): Their kimchi is spicy, so keep that in mind. Such a good pairing with the soups. * Haemul Buchujeon (seafood pancakes, 3 pieces); They give a lot of seafood and chives. * Mandu (potstickers with beef, pork, veggies): Korean potstickers hit differently with their noodles inside. So much flavor! Lastly, their banchan side dishes are incredibly delicious. They cut fresh kimchi at your table :) There's a kick to it. Beware that their prices may seem expensive, but it's worth the price and trip to the restaurant. Service is wonderful. The ahjummas love giving us more banchan. My husband and I decided to check out Tang's Haus after seeing it a few times on Yelp and on our drive around Union City. We both love seolleong tang as well as the oxtail soup and now that the weather is cooler, this is the perfect time to get some soup and rice! I ordered kkorigam Tang (oxtail) and my husband got Dogani tang (ox knee tendon). With the order comes a bowl of rice and some banchan. They were very generous with the amount of kimchi we got as a banchan and it was delicious. Part of the appeal of Korean bone broth soup and rice is that the broth is clear and milky. You add your own amount of salt and pepper for seasoning. We got the standard size and by the end of it, we were both stuffed and satisfied! Service was quick and the staff was friendly. The waitress checked in on us a few times to make sure we were doing okay and asked if we wanted more banchan. Since we went on a weeknight, it was more low key and quiet but we didn't mind. We'll be down to come back another time. Only reason for 4 star instead of 5 is because I felt the meal was on the pricier side for the portion we got. The solleongtang was good but I tried to return the next week so my grandma could try it and they turned us away when it was just past 2pm and their lunch hours say 2:30pm. Even on the outside of the door the paper sign said 2:30pm. I understand the kitchen may need to close half an hour in advance but in that case they should just update their hours to 2pm so possible customers know not to come past 2. This place has my absolute favorite sundubu-jjigae! It is the best I have ever had! I have been to multiple places in LA, which were all great, but this place completely wins over all of them! The broth was so flavorful and soothing that I would drink it everyday. Their bulgogi meat inside the soup was tender and flavorful as well! All the other tofu soup places I have been to (even in Ktown LA) the meat is more tough and not seasoned at all. But Tang Haus' is so good individually from the soup! The sides were also phenomenal. The fish cake banchan is my favorite side and this place has done it so well. Their kimchi is so refreshing and delicious. It is homemade and the server cuts it in front of you! This place was such a great find, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and filling. I had the naengmyeon, and it was incredibly refreshing. The cold, slushy broth was packed with flavor, and the noodles had that perfect chewy texture that makes the dish so satisfying. It was exactly what I was craving! I think this is my favorite Korean restaurant in the Bay Area :0 Tang's Haus is delicious, simple, and reminds me of the go-to sulentang joint down in K-Town that I used to frequent in a different season of life. They'll offer barley tea or water when you first sit down and take your order as soon as you're ready. I also personally found them to be funny too. The menu is not too big (which means that the things on it are all good!). I've tried their seolleongtang/ sulentang (ox bone soup), tofu soup, kimchi pancake and seafood pancake and thought all were excellent. Also very delicious is their kimchi, which they seem to ferment themselves in a big deep fridge in their establishment. When the pancakes are crispy and soup rich and comforting, you can't really go wrong. A bite of warm, fragrant rice, pungent kimchi and sip of savory soup is really a perfect combination. This bright, clean little store is the perfect place to sit and enjoy good Korean food and catch up with a friend or more. This was the first time I've not had to add the green onions & salt myself, which wasn't too bad.
