Wow - great dinner, loved all of it! This place felt like a traditional, fast casual spot. I ordered without much thought and was thoroughly surprised by my burrito due to its wetness and portion size, but honestly, that was my fault due to the lack of research beforehand. Food came out pretty quickly and was plated nicely. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous for the price. I enjoyed my dinner here and would gladly come back if in the area again! Probably would opt to get a cleaner meal though haha.

The service here is very minimal, you order and seat yourself. The super tacos are huge, just two were enough to be filling. I got the chicken and al pastor and both were really tasty, super savory and crisped just the right amount. The burrito was great as well but I would order just tacos next time.

We ordered to-go over the phone on a Saturday around 12pm. They said the food would be ready in 10 mins but it took us around 30 mins to arrive there. We got the Lengua tacos, carne asada tacos, and cabeza super burrito. They really fill up the tacos with a lot of meat. Lengua and cabeza were tender. The carne asada had a spicy sauce but it tough and dry. They only gave us regular salsa and a green salsa. There was no spicy red salsa. Maybe we had to ask?

Came by on a Saturday around 11pm, and Taqueria Cancun was still bustling with people coming and going. As with most places in SF, street parking is your best bet before heading over. I really loved the indoor decor - bright, cheerful, and full of colorful papel picado strung throughout the restaurant. Service was quick, friendly, and a nice touch was the complimentary chips and salsa that came with our order. We tried the Super Nachos with Al Pastor, and wow! You really get your money's worth! The portion is huge, and they don't skimp on ingredients. The chips stayed perfectly crunchy even under all the toppings. The meat was flavorful, though I wished it had a bit more smokiness. The nachos are loaded with cheese and sour cream, so if you prefer a lighter hand with those, you might want to request it. Overall, I'd give the nachos a 4/5. All in all, a solid spot for a late-night bite. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

Best tacos I've had, thought it was comparable to Tacos El Gordo and is even better! It's a little over $5 for a taco but it's a large taco, not a street size taco, as big as my palm and I love how much meat the packed into it. I had to eat the meat filling with their on the house chips bc it was too much for the tortilla! Highly recommend lengua and cabeza, perfectly seasoned and just so delicious, not gamey at all, just tastes like savory dark meat!

After coming here, I am so sad I have been denied having a Mission burrito for so long. This was burrito was amazing. I love the fast casual vibe and our food came out SO QUICK! Great spot for a casual dinner. I got the burrito with carne asada and just wow.. This burrito was MASSIVE! But while the portion was great, the filling was even better!!! Each burrito also came with a side of chips which were and this was just so much food for such a great price. I am sure there are other great places in the Mission to get a burrito but Taqueria Cancun was a great first time experience for me and I would love to come back when I am back in San Francisco. 10/10!

Guys at the counter were super nice! our burrito came with free seasoned tortilla chips and red and green salsa. SO GOOD! The green salsa was our favorite. We shared an Al pastor super burrito and asked for it to be dorado style. It was served HOT and steaming. YUM!!

Wanted to go to La Taqueria for a mission burrito but it was closed so searched for a backup. Glad I did because this place was so solid! Got 2 burritos - carne asada and cabeza. Both delicious, well cooked meat, and good size. Service was fast and order came with 2 types of salsa and a bag of super crispy chips!

SF Taco Tour '25 We've eaten a lot of tacos on this tour. Each better than the last- truly. But these tacos are divine in a way I haven't experienced since I was 15, standing in line for what would become the best taco of my life in Las Palmas, Pittsburgh- yes, Pittsburgh PA. See God, visit taqueria cancun.

Amazing Mexican food in Mission! I think three tacos here does the job. It's open late, which is nice. The super taco has avocado which is a nice addition. The only thing is that the ceviche tostado is not actually raw fish. Overall a great experience!

This restaurant was a fun pit stop on our group's food adventure and came highly recommended by a few of my colleagues. We were all excited for some good burritos and once I saw lengua on the menu I made a beeline straight for it and went all in on the lengua burrito. Portion size was solid and the flavors hit the spot. The lengua was super tender and flavorful but the burrito itself turned into a bit of a mess from all the extra juices. I'm all for a juicy burrito but a little more rice or beans would have helped hold it all together and balance things out. Still delicious and worth the experience. The prices were fair and right in line with other spots around town. The place was pretty busy but the two-man team inside handled everything like pros and kept the orders moving without a hitch. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying the pastor burrito or maybe even one of their super quesadillas.

My NEW FAVORITE taqueria in the mission. For years I would only go to El Farolitos, but after trying a burrito here I don't want to go anywhere else. Let me start off with the customer service; they have consistently been amazing every visit. The people that work here are genuinely good people. They are so kind to those who choose to patronize their establishment and for that alone I would come back. The food itself is amazing. The BEST BURRITO in San Francisco! Yes, I said it and I'm standing on that lol. I get the super shrimp burrito and add eggs. I've also got their ceviche which is amazing as well. Their green salsa is fresh and their red salsa is equally as delicious. I also like the way they decorated the restaurant. It's simple but very festive. Please come try this place. I can't stop raving about it with friends and co-workers.

If you are looking for a good burrito in The Mission District, this is a good option. Very close to Dolores Park which was our 1st stop Busy spot. Good amount of seating. Service was fairly quick. Especially liked the green salsa.Bathroom needed attention! Would return.

This is one of the best taquerias in the Mission. Although it used to be way more affordable their Tortas are my go to and the best around.

For once in my life, I was forced to eat like a civilized man. On the outside, everything looked normal, but in the inside it was anything but normal: I had to open my third eye center so that I could ascend my primal instinct of going to town on this burrito. Equipped with a knife, I sawed thru that behemoth methodically - too fast and she would burst open, too slow & she would give me the cold side eye. I am the burrito slayer. Cash only, was very very well priced for the size (about $13. Receipt didn't make it out alive).

I have dined here many times in the past, and this is a cash-only restaurant. I ordered the Regular Burrito with Beef Steak ($10.25). The regular burrito comes with a flour tortilla, rice, beans, salsa, onions, and cilantro, plus your choice of meat or vegetarian. Meat choices listed on the menu: * Al Pastor - Marinated Pork * Carnitas - Deep Fried Pork * Chile Verde - Pork Green Sauce * Chorizo - Mexican Sausage * Carne Asada - Steak * Lengua - Beef Tongue * Pollo - Chicken * Cabeza - Beef Head * Tripas - Intestines I asked the cashier which meat was most popular, and he recommended the beef steak, which had a slight hint of spiciness. The burrito came with pinto beans and rice. I forgot to ask if I could substitute black beans. The burrito wasn't too salty, and the beef steak was just okay. I also think the $10.25 Carne Asada burrito is a good deal. At other taquerias, carne asada is often an additional charge or the burrito costs more when you choose steak. I usually ask for a receipt even when paying cash. When I checked my receipt, I noticed I was charged an additional $0.25 for "Bolsa To Go" (bag) even though I was dining in and didn't receive a to-go bag. It's not about the $0.25, but I think it's important for a business to have integrity and charge customers only for what they actually receive. I hope this isn't something being charged to other dine-in customers as well. Overall, I would come back to try a different meat, but next time I'll make sure to clearly say dine-in and check my receipt to make sure I wasn't charged for a to-go bag.

We came here on a random Thursday at 3 pm and surprisingly, the line still almost reached the end of the block. Luckily, the line moves pretty quickly and the food is solid, but be prepared to wait for a bit. My favorite meats here are the cabeza and the lengua. The cabeza is super fatty and tender and has the amazing shreddy quality of a slow cooked meat. It had the soft melty texture of collagen and was super delicious. The lengua is also really good. It was super tender and soft and had the distinct taste of beef tongue but wasn't too overpowering. The carne asada and carnitas had a good flavor but were a little bit dry for me. I think they would be better in a super taco or burrito where you have the extra fat from the cheese and avocado. My only complaint about this place is the price. I realize that everything in SF is expensive, but over $5 for a single taco and almost $9 for a single super taco is pretty egregious. There's food trucks all over the Bay Area offering cheaper (and almost, if not, just as good) tacos in my opinion.
