American diner and "Autentica Comida Mexican" in one restaurant! We were just driving into West Yellowstone, running a little late for a family event, with just enough time for lunch. We were debating, really, it's true, between plain comfort food and familiar Tex-Mex food. The Timberline Cafe is a diner. On the map, the Taqueria Resendiz is right next door. Perfect! In person, they are combined into one restaurant! Even more perfect! We had a moderately-spicy michelada and a tequila-less "wine-margarita", plus lemonades, and we read all the menus. We all ordered Mexican! Several kinds of open and folded tacos, fajitas, chip & salsa. All fresh and hot and tasty. We live in West Yellowstone 6+ months out of the year. We try and support the Mom & Pop restaurants. This is a food truck off the main drag; I really wanted to like this place. Stopped in around noon and it was empty (understandable for a Monday when the main attraction is Yellowstone, a stones throw away). Ordered their Burrito Chihuahua ($18.20). We "dined in" and sat at a picnic table out front. The girl, who works the register, dropped it off with barely saying a word: "here's your burrito." She had little to no eye contact when we ordered. No greeting - nothing whatsoever that was pleasant. And the burrito itself - little to no pork and not flavourful at all. Extremely disappointed. Spend your $20 elsewhere (I even "tipped" $2 when I ordered - I guess that was not appreciated). Will absolutely not go back and will not recommend... read more

We stopped in for a quick bite and ordered a selection of street tacos- shredded beef, spicy pork and chicken. All were well made with fresh ingredients and very tasty. I really wanted to love this place, but I felt it was alright at the end of the day. We were happy to see that there was at least a Mexican food truck in the heart of West Yellowstone. Took a taco tour around West Yellowstone and this place came out on top! The tortilla was crispy, the meat was well seasoned, and the red salsa was an excellent addition. I've never had chorizo not crumbled up but it was nice for the change. We saw photos of the asada fries online and had to get them. They did not disappoint! They came out piping hot and cheesy. Omggg! Everything in west Yellowstone seemed expensive and I was looking for something that catered to my budget. The day before, I had tried another taqueria in the area (and was very disappointed), but this taqueria truck was so good. I give it a 10/10. Stayed in West Yellowstone and wasn't expecting too much from this taco truck, but to my surprise the tacos were great! Being from California, I am used to great tacos and this was on par with some of the better tacos back home. We had their Al pastor tacos and chorizo burrito with horchata. All of them were great! Visiting from out of town and decided to try this after steller Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. As I approached, their food truck had an abundant line ordering, which is always a great indicator that it is popular. The staff was friendly and fast. Tried their signature 4x Birria Tacos and they were a delicious blend of rich flavor, slow cooked beef, onions, cheese and served with a dipping Consome broth. If you are Celiac. Please don't try them. I asked about GF and they told me that they will take care of me. I finished eating and 30 minutes after I am feeling sick. They need to learn about cross contamination, which they say they have never heard the term. Changing your gloves does not fully guarantee that you will not get contaminated if they have previously been dipping the gloves used to handle flour in the onion and cilantro bowls. In other words; the cilantro and onion are fully contaminated with gluten because you dipped the gloves used to prepare flour tacos into the bowl. I am sure that is what got me. read more

Unexpected deliciousness! Fast and friendly service with authentic music and plenty of nice outdoor seating. The Carnitas tacos were out of sight, perfectly seasoned. A side of guacamole goes nicely with them. We also had tamales and shredded chicken enchilada with green sauce, OMG. So tasty. The kids loved the churros for dessert. This food truck smells amazing! After working all day with the aroma filling our warehouse, we decided to give it a try! We had Quesa Birrias while in Houston, Texas - so gave it a try (#20). Huge disappointment! Not crisp at all, no flavor, the consommé seemed watered down, as there was no seasoning. My wife had (#12) the enchiladas and tacos were also lacking flavor but the meal was full of meat. The only entree that was boasting with flavor was the poblano chicken taco. This is the single item that I would return to this truck to eat! Also tried the churros- warm, fried dough - hard to mess up. We had a lot of expectations for this establishment, perhaps we set the bar too high or it was their first weekend making the dishes with a new cook. I'm giving it a 1 star because I asked if the enchilada sauce had nuts in it and they said no, I double checked and they still said no. I was suspicious because the sauce was a bit darker (thinking mole). My kid was hungry and ate fast, realizing a short while later that she was having an allergic reaction.
