I was looking for a quick meal in the EV and stuffed myself with these delicious tacos!! I loved how the salsa didn't overpower the inherent meat flavors in all the tacos. The lengua was super duper juicy and tender!! The beef flank was also tender with a different spice profile, but I did wish for a higher fat to meat ratio. The barbacoa had a nice lamb flavor without being too gamy. The carnita was well seasoned! I also enjoyed the integrity of the tortilla and how it held the meat and juices together. Tacos were tasty as they were affordable! Loved the Mexican/LA themed decor. Staff were friendly and sincerely apologetic after messing up the bill. I plan on coming back when I need a reliable and price-friendly place to get my taco cravings fixed!

As an LA native, this place felt like home!! Dodgers flags, Lakers jerseys, you name it, it's all LA in here. I've barely had any Mexican food in NYC that has compared to LA but the tacos here were pretty good quality I'm not gonna lie. I was a little surprised they didn't have an al pastor taco which is what I usually opt for. Our server was really kind and friendly overall. She brought us chips and salsa which is almost unheard of nowadays so it was very much appreciated. I will absolutely be returning here when the Lakers season starts. I LOVE LA

Pretty cool spot. Food is hit or miss, personally I'd go for the pork tacos and beef tongue tacos again. Would skip the flautas. Service was good. Super reasonable prices

A cool spot with edgy interior, affordable prices and warm hospitality. The true gem is the bartender Edgar who is very attentive and hospitable to the customers. The food was great as well, I had the milanesa torta with chips and guac on the side. Beware it is a California theme style restaurant so you will see Dodgers merch and games.

this place was so much bigger inside than i thought it would be, its got such a fun little vibe too. i really loved the barbacoa tacos but the chorizo was too salty for me. my friends liked the shrimp tacos too. i would 100% come back for drinks some time and the tacos are $4. service was fast and efficient.

I have been a loyal customer for many years. This is a good place to get a solid, cheap meal with good service. The restaurant is nicely decorated and feels cozy inside. They always have a movie playing. I have never once had an issue here with the food or service. The prices are more than reasonable and even cheap compared to other places in the area. They have two levels, and you have to take a staircase to get downstairs. The entrance has two small steps you need to walk down to get inside. They also have bar seating and two bathrooms. Service is always prompt and the food comes out fast. You get free chips and salsa to start. I've never had an alcoholic beverage here so I can't comment on those drinks but my agua Fresca here is always good especially the Jamaica. If I'm in the area and need something cheap, good and consistent, I come here.

Late night restaurants are not as common as they once were in NYC. So when I'm feeling snackish, Taqueria St. Marks is a gem! The decor is music, movie and Mexico themed. Upon entering, your choice is the bar or dinner. There are a couple of booths and tables upstairs, along with more seating on the lower lever. The servers are quick with attention and smiles. Unfortunately, other than Jarritos, I don't enjoy the drinks here. We stuck with the regular margarita, because it's way better than any of the flavored, but still very 'meh'. And the aguas fresca left me wanting. Especially the pineapple! The complimentary salsa and chips are always gone by the time our mains arrive. Are we just that hungry, or are they that good? I'm not sure. But honestly, I think I started to come here just for the fish taco! The crispy fish and cabbage just sit wrapped marinating inside the tortilla. After a while it become a juicy mess, but a flavorful juicy mess. I'm not against eating a taco with a fork!

Literally nothing more special than watching the World Series here. As a native Californian, Taqueria St. Marks feels like a home away from home, and the food is so good and reasonably priced. One of my favorites in the city

Pretty spacious as there is a downstairs part too which is nice. However, I can see it getting pretty loud, especially during sports as people were clapping and what not. So definitely not the best for an intimate vibe. Margaritas were fairly cheap around $9-10 but they weren't that strong. The queso fundido was great with the tortilla or chips from the chips and salsa. I didn't really enjoy the enchilada, maybe the sauce wasn't my thing and verdes might be better. I will say the rice was good though. Service could be better as we were left waiting around for the check.

Great, affordable Mexican food in the area that stays open till midnight! We came as a group of 4 and had to wait for about 15 min. The food here is reasonably priced and packed with flavor! Chips and salsa for the table are on-the-house. My go-to is the carnitas tacos, but I tried the lengua (beef tongue) one from my friend recently and the meat was actually really tender! Definitely don't shy away if you're looking to change things up from your usual order. They also charge extra for hot sauce fyi! Note that the bill will be a tad cheaper when paying with cash and reflect the menu prices. In terms of service, they're a bit slow. We had to wait a while just to get change, but overall, very friendly servers. Would definitely come back for delicious, late-night tacos!!

Audree and Jack, you guys blew us away! Service was great and thank you for the hidden menu shrimp taco I'll be thinking about it in my dreams of New York. These tacos get the LA stamp of approval. And with fair prices we stayed here for over 6 hours and still didn't break the bank. The food was great, service was great, vibes were great. I can really see this being a bar for homesick LA locals. This will be on my list of recommendations for all of my friends and family visiting New York. Love yall I'll be back soon!!!!

This place is like a lot of places on St. Marks. It's not gourmet, but it has style and is great for bar hopping and late night snacks and drinks. The main attraction here is the tacos. I had the fish, pork, and chorizo tacos. The pork and fish were fine. The chorizo was a little grizzly and burned. Maybe it's because it was later at night. The classic margaritas are actually pretty good and were also recommended by the server. I also had the hibiscus margarita as well, but it wasn't as good as the original. Three tacos and three margaritas was just over 42 dollars, so it was a great deal. Fun decor--lots of sports memorabilia, vintage movie posters, band fliers, and a giant Jack Skellington. Awesome playlist! Ton of 90s/elder Millennial songs--Bush, Sugar Ray, Red Hot Chili Peppers, mixed with Mexican ballads. In addition, it's open late, has affordable prices. Laid back, but attentive service. Definitely on my drunken taco late night list!

this is a cool place but the food is super greasy... i ordered a steak quesadilla and it was actually wet on the inside from the amount of grease :/ also the server was super rude to us and basically just threw down the food at us and never even tried to be even remotely kind i understand this is mostly a bar and it is "bar food" basically but it was rough... between bad service and greasy salty food i dont think i would come back

A quick internet search led me to this tiny little takeaway window. There were a few people waiting around for their orders, but the service was quick, and super friendly. The birria was amazing, super tender, perfect seasoning and came with two sauces for dipping. Unbelievably flavourful, and an impressive serving size. Great value for the money. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

Decent size Mexican restaurant with some seating in the front and a handful of tables in the back dining room. We started with chips and guac. The guac is large so I understand the price. It was very good. No complaints. The chips could have used more salt though which is always a concern. You'd think Mexican spots would have a tortilla chip down by now. I ordered a steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and had pretty good flavor. I just wish there was more. Especially considering the price. Certainly not a bad quesadilla but the value wasn't quite there. Still, a fine option if you want Mexican food and you are in the area. I'd say the 3.5 rating is pretty spot on.
