This place knows how to make their drinks! Their fruits teas are amazing, full of flavors, and the right amount of sweetness. The shop is small and can get very crowded. There isn't much room to sit both indoor and outdoor. There is a long bench against the wall and two small table outside of the shop. Parking can be a hassle and lines can run out the door. However, it's worth the wait. The also list their top ten drinks you can try if you don't know what to order. We ordered the peach me tea, bootea, amazing strawburst, and karate chicken (insane spicy level). Everything we ordered was delicious! The karate chicken had a nice kick to it but could be more spicy. We choose the weak sauce which paired nicely with the chicken. The food is great! I usually come here late at night because they're usually open just a little later than most boba shops. Usually order the golden milk tea, which by the way is HUGE if you get the large size. The fries and chicken are also pretty good both coming in at 5$ solid for a pretty generous amount. I used to be a regular at Tastea since they opened in 2001. I would frequent this location at least 5 times per week. My favorite drinks were the Ooh La La (coconut strawberry smoothie), Strawberry Sensation (strawberry smoothie with strawberry bits), the Peach Me Sweetea (peach tea with peach and strawberry bits), and the Passion Attraction (passion fruit tea with lychee jelly). Over the years, the taste and quality of the tea had changed drastically... and is no longer fitting to my taste buds. My favorite tea now is the Jasmine Iced Tea (green tea) with regular boba, and their summer Limited Edition smoothie, the Watermelon Heaven. They have two types of boba- regular and honey... but I prefer the regular since it is already sweet. Unfortunately, they started charging extra for everything. Therefore, you are now paying 60 cents extra for your regular boba OR half boba... and the tea prices continue to rise whereas the quality continues to drop. I do have to say their karate chicken is the bomb and tops other places, so be sure to pair that with your tea on a hot day! read more

I normally get the Peach Me Sweet Tea w/ regular boba and if it's extremely hot outside, I change it up and I go for the slushee version, the Peach Me Freezie w/ no add-ons. Other favorites are the Mango All The Way w/ no add-ons. I normally avoid add-ons when I order a slushy because they tend to get hard , for example boba. Another fav is the Matcha Milk Tea w/ regular boba (i would recommend requesting extra ice if you want your drink a little cooler because this drink tends to be on the luke warm side). I can't believe I've been going to this location for almost 10 years. I have never had a bad customer service moment. Trust me when I say that whenever they are slow on giving you your order it's because it was a technical issue or there is just a lot of people ordering that day so cut them some slack. This location is near where I usually eat pho, Pho Lu, and near a bunch of supermarkets, so I like how convenient this place is! There is a bench but not really anywhere to sit except two small tables outside. The drinks are excellent, just like at all locations, but this is a place to get your drinks and snacks to go, for the most part. We come usually for the tea drinks, but recently we came to try their Karate Chicken, at the Insane spice level, and we got it with the weaksauce, which is a sweet and sour sauce, but it made the spiciness worse! This place has always been my favorite boba place, not only because of their "tastea" and refreshing drinks, but due to their bomb karate chicken and buttload fries. Tastea has been my go to for snacks since high school in the early 2010s, but fell off my radar with the boom of other boba shops in the area. With the diminishing serving sizes of food, Tastea just couldn't hold up anymore in my eyes. Until I started my cut again. Variable sweetness levels just wasn't a thing back when I was frequenting Tastea, so shooting for 50-70% at other shops to cut back a bit on the sugar was my go to. I found out that not only does Tastea offer this now but also Stevia options! Practically guilt free boba! On top of that, they also offer free milk substitutions! Usually these things would be up charged at other shops (which I don't particularly agree with, since there's already such a mark up on the drinks anyway) but these substitutions are free of charge. I've been so happy to pop into Tastea and getting a drink without compromising the rest of my calorie intake! Big plus to the staff as well with COVID-19 around. A worker grabbed the wrong sized straw for me and after noticing it, I handed it back and he threw it away. I'm so happy to see that, as I wouldn't want straws (even if still wrapped) handled by other customers myself in these times. read more

The OG tea house. This place is legit. With both classic teas and new concoctions, you can't go wrong with any of your drink choices. I remember when this place opened up nearly 20 years ago. It was the hippest and most happening spot to be in town. To this day, this place is still a classic that delivers the same joy and deliciousness it did back then. I've tried most of the drinks on the menu by now and I don't think I've had one that I really didn't like. My go-to is always Peach Me Sweatea and Avocado Avalanche. Amazing. It's just so good! They added some quick finger food options to the menu as well a few years ago -- fries, popcorn chicken, and popcorn shrimp. Great flavor, always fun to eat. Tastea is definitely Tasty! Went here after eating KBBQ and of course we had room for boba. Once we got there, Parking seemed like it would be difficult, but we were lucky enough to get one close by. Any other day, I feel like the parking area may give you problems. As you enter there are LOADS of people in line as well as people sitting down on the long benches on the left. Although to the naked eye it seems chaotic, it's a very organized business. The line is to the middle/left and is quite quick. As soon as you order from the menu with the nice cashiers up front, you can wait on the benches until they call your name through the mic/speakers. Pretty efficient. Now for the tea! I got the iced peach me sweetea as a recommendation from my BF. Definitely a good choice for a warm day :) not too sweet, but had the peach flavor I like. There were peach (&imagine strawberry?) bits inside as well as boba. Coolest thing for me was seeing green boba. Peach-me-Sweet-Tea is definitely a best seller and for good reason. I couldn't resist the thought of green boba, but to be honest the boba wasn't that great. It didn't have any interesting flavor or texture that makes it stand out. However, the drink as a whole was quite delicious. The bits of fruit were a tasty addition. The Bootea Shaker is delish as well. I liked the black jelly, it was definitely interesting sucking it up through the straw :) I added aloe and it was tasty. I'm gonna try and make it back as often as possible now that I have a reason to be in the OC. Tastea is located in a basic strip mall plaza with poor parking. I have a pretty late lunch break, so by the time I get here, the lines are minimal. You walk in, fall in line, order, pay and wait. While your waiting you xan entertain yourself by taking a semi selfi on their camera screen then upload it to your favorite social media. For non coffee/tea drinkers..(shame on you!! )They offer lots of smoothies made with real fruit. These are overpowering sweet but good. 3.5 to 4 stars. Tastea, you are really clever! Clever names for your drinks and clever for making drinks with the combination of boba and fruits! I'm a huge fan of fruits especially drinks that have small chunks of fruits in them. Before arriving at this place, I didn't expect this boba joint to be something different than the ordinary. They also have a mini photobooth stand near the entrance where you can take a photo and post it on facebook; pretty neat. My boo and I came here on a Monday at around 3:30pm and oh boy was there a long line! Even though there was a long line service was very quick and the staff was on top of their orders. Looking at their menu, I noticed that most of them had clever names to them like 'Personalitea'. The menu can be a bit overwhelming because there are long description of what each drink has. I ended up ordering the Peach Me Sweetea (peach and strawberry iced tea with peach and strawberry bits) and my boo got the Mango All the Way (mango raspberry with green mango bits. Both of our drinks had green boba which was a bit unusual but still tasted like your normal bobas! And the boba ended up to be pretty good, not too hard nor too soft. There are different kinds of sizes which range from (mini, gigantic, even more, and partea). The 'Partea' size is a freaking pitcher by the way. Prices vary depending on what type of drink you get whether it's a classic, smoothie, shaved ice, etc. My gigantic Peach Me Sweetea was $3.25 and I'd say the price for this drink is not bad at all considering they put small bits of fruits in the drink. Wow, how have I not written a review on this place? Back when boba was the thing instead of these new shaved snow cafes, Tastea was the place to go. Actually wait, it still IS the place to go! No matter what time of the day it is, there is always a line here. It's in a great location, same plaza as Pho Lu & a couple of coffee shops. Don't let the line or wankster teenie boppers deter you away from going in. It gets crazy here especially during summer nights, but the line usually moves by quickly since they have a ton of employees working efficiently. I love the simplicitea (simplicity) of their menu, you can't really go wrong w/ any of their items. My personal fave is Mango All The Way w/ their green boba. It has real mango bits in it and the drink isn't too sweet because of the raspberry blended with it. Recently I found out they have honey boba, but it doesn't compare to half & half's honey boba. A lot of ppl like Peach Me Sweetea, but I find that it's just ok. I also like their Bootea shaker (comes w/ black jelly, the drink is light & refreshing blend of mango, peach & pineapple tea) As for the food, their karate chopped chicken isn't bad. You get a huge portion for what you pay. I LOVE the cookies here, especially when it's fresh. If you go on their website, or if you're in store, their menus show the cals for each drink and size. I like getting their mini size as a treat after eating a heavy meal at like boiling crab or bo 7 mon next door. The also have teas here that are lightly sweetened or unsweetened. I just have to hope they make it good the nights I get it but probably won't chance it anymore. The prices have gone up and I wouldn't mind it if the chicken was guaranteed to be good everytime, some days it's so bland, some days so salty, some days the medium is so beyond spicy and some days not at all. The description on the website says "Thick and creamy sensations" which sounds great, but I did not get that. I still think the boba balls are great, but I don't like the actual drink. The smoothie just seemed cheaply made. It was like they got the taro powder, mixed with water, and then blended it with ice. No milky flavor. Next time, I'll get the MILK tea and pray they don't mess that up. On a positive note, their "good eats" are GOOD EATS. Their Buttload'a Fries are AMAZING.
