I always find myself here every time I'm in the area. I don't know how, but it always just happens... If you're looking for a fruity drink, this is the right place for you! In my opinion, Tastea makes the best fruit drinks in all of Cali (that I have tried so far). The line is normally really long but moves really quick. Service here is great. All the employees are upbeat and always smiling. My favorite drinks here are the Peach Me Sweetea and the Mango All The Way. Those two are the most popular and you can't go wrong with them. I've also tried the watermelon smoothie and it was just absolutely amazing. The watermelon was sweet and fresh. Their boba is different than other places. Its green! Whatttt? Mmmm avocado avalanche, to sum it up, it's an avocado milkshake. I believe one taste of this creamy goodness you can probably bring all the boys to the yard with your milkshake. The perfect blend of milk, avocado and sugar, it wasn't too sweet, it was perfect. FYI, please use the big straws even if you don't have boba, it's a bit easier to enjoy your smoothie. I got the Two to Mango (which is under smoothie, it wasn't on the menu when I ame but they still made it) while my friend got Mango All the Way! (which was a slushy freeze). I tried both to see the difference. The Two to Mango had more of a tea taste to it. Since it had raspberry swirl in it, I mixed the drink and it got rid of most of the tea taste and became slightly sweeter. It was good. So for my friend's Mango All the Way, there was a few chunks of mango and it had raspberry swirl like mines did. It tasted a lot more sweeter and didn't have that tea-like taste. Still, both were good and refreshing on a pretty warm day. Sizes ranges from a mini, to gigantic, to even more. The mini was only $2. So if you're not that thirsty nor you want any boba, this could be a decent size (especially for kids). Karate chicken definitely had the crunch to it and there was actually white meat inside. Typically, at other boba places, there is barely any meat. It also tasted pretty good. When I came on a Saturday afternoon, the line was out the door but it didn't really take long. Yowza! I usually come here for the Peach Me Freezie, but I was craving some milk tea boba after my dinner at Pho Lu tonight. I was so pleasantly surprised when I took my first sip of this drink. It is so creamy and delicious! I've tried the milk teas at tapioca express, guppies and lollicup and I think this one reigns supreme. It's not too sweet like some other stores make them; so once you take a sip, it's REFRESHING! I am also hesitant about bobas in these kinds of tea shops because I feel they can never make it just right, but Tastea hits it right on the spot! Five stars for the service from supervisor Nikki S. She is a sweetheart. I didn't know what to order, so she mixed me up her own special concoction which isn't on the menu. I'll call it the "Nikki S. Special" -- orange, mango, and pineapple with green tea base and added aloe vera and longan. Aloe vera? This is arguably the most impressive bubble tea place I've visited. The variety and selection of flavors and add-ons is astounding. There are over a dozen different add-ons you can order with your tea including five different types of jelly (black, almond, coconut, rainbow, lychee), pudding, beans (red and green), mochi (yes, the same mochi you put on froyo), Asian fruits such as lychee and jackfruit, popping boba, and more. The add-ons are 50 cents additional each. Teas can start anywhere from $1.25 for a small (or "mini") "Simplicitea" to $3.65 for a large (or "even more") "Specialtea." I'm not so much a fan of fruity teas, so I'm not sure how I got talked into Nikki's drink. She's just hard to say no to. It was good, but I probably should have gone with one of the store's sweeter, creamier milk teas. The Specialteas, such as the "Tootea Fruitea" (kiwi and pineapple tea with diced jackfruit), all have some sort of fruit combination. The "Classics," such as taro, milk, and Thai tea, suit me better. I also tried the "Bootea Shaker," which is mango, peach, and pineapple tea with black jelly. We also added egg pudding and boba to it. Needless to say, this was one dense tea. I love this place! When you first walk in, it smells lightly sweet in the air and sometimes, a little fruity because of their mix-ins for their drinks. This place looks really clean and cheerful and makes me happy everytime when I walk in. Some of their drinks are way too sweet and fruity for me, like their Tootea fruity one. I like to keep it simple and order the Green Milk tea with mochi and lychee jelly added to it. Something about that green milk tea leaves a very satisfying taste in your mouth and not too sweet either! Just right! I occasionally get the Great White iced tea with aloe Vera and it is a nice lightly sweetened tea with a hint of peach flavoring. It's a nice cleanse feeling after a heavy meal (from Boiling Crab). Their karate popcorn chicken and fries are surprisingly really good! Despite their corny names and cheesy-named spicy level (ex. Kick in your mouth spicy), it's pretty tasty! I really like Tastea and was so excited that one opened up near me but unfortunately the drinks are not the same! I always order the golden milk tea with full sweetness and it is just the right amount of sweetness for me. When I ordered it at this location, it was like someone just poured an entire container of sugar in there so I went home and diluted it with water. The second time, I got it at 70% sweetness and it was still really sweet! Every time I have been in, I have been adjusting the sweetness level to almost nothing. I really like Tastea because the drinks just taste ... healthier! I've been to Tastea a few times in the past few months, and I usually get either the strawberry ecstacy or green milk tea. Apparently they have new teas added to their menus now, and a new size called the mini (which is quite tiny!). I ordered a half and half tea (half green and half black tea) with boba, which wasn't too bad. Not too sweet and of course the boba is delicious. The green milk tea is a hit or miss. I've ordered it before and it was wonderful. The next time, it was too bitter so I asked for a remake, which wasn't too different from the first one. I always get the "Strawberry Ecstasy" which is black tea infused with strawberry with grass jelly, and I always add in the honey boba! Tastea is where I first tried honey boba, and have been obsessed with it ever since. It's so soft and chewy, and has a slight honey taste to it. The Strawberry Ecstasy is wonderful too, it's very refreshing! It has a sweet strawberry taste to it, and it's not overpowering that you can't taste the black tea. I would like to try other things, but this is just so good to me! They have a variety of sizes for their drinks. They have a "mini" which is about the size of an iPhone 5, the "gigantic" which is pretty standard, the "even more" which is a large. They also offer a party jug! I really like the decor here as well. It's colorful, and all the signs are easy to read and understand, not to mention it's super cute! Service is cool too, the people who work here are pretty friendly. There's also a photo booth where you can email your pictures. I couldn't decide! I was first in line when I walked in around 12:45pm, but right after I ordered a line formed almost to the door! (whew! luck was on my side!) So I decided to go with my usual, Milk Tea with Boba and Egg Pudding. The boba had a slightly different flavor than what I'm used to, but not sure if the green color was throwing me off or not? It was good nonetheless. The tea also had good flavor, but the pudding had more of a firm "Jello" consistency (cube shaped) and they were all floating. I was a tad dissapointed since I usually like to have pudding & tea in my mouth at the same time. Tastea is probably one of the best boba places in Garden Grove, and that's saying a lot because there's a boba shop around every corner. The employees are always really welcoming and cheery, so that's a plus. It does get really crowded and loud inside; it's more of a grab your drink and go kinda place, although it seems a lot of people like to linger outside. They have green boba, which is pretty cool! It's really just regular boba with food coloring though. It's good but I've found it to be a little inconsistent sometimes. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because lately, the boba is really squishy and not chewy like I like it to be. My favorite drink here is the Avocado Avalanche! This place has really good drinks! I have tried multiple smoothies and flavored teas so I kinda know what I'm talking about haha. Strawberry sensation is my favorite smoothie drink because it has pieces of strawberries mixed in with the drink! In terms of flavored tea, I like the peach me sweetea because it has this light, sweet taste that is addicting. It doesn't feel like artifical, fake sugar sweet. They also have pieces of peaches and stuff in the drink! The boba here isn't that great in my opinion. The cool thing is that they are green, but it terms of taste....they taste like nothing. You are literally just chewing on flavorless starch. I used to get the boba since I like to chew on things, but I have been getting my drinks without boba recently. As most Tastea's taste the same, I'm giving this review based off of their COVID procedures. As someone who works in Food and Beverage, it's really important now to keep your employees and guests safe. The inside of the store was dirty; the floor, the bench you're not supposed to sit on, the counter, and the pick-up station was a disaster. Considering they may be a high-volume location, that's understandable, but that doesn't mean it's acceptable. Some of the employees weren't wearing masks, and although they were wearing gloves, YOU KNOW when those gloves aren't being changed out as frequently as possible. There was a lot of leniencies, no visible line, but clusters of people that weren't social distancing. You can't always anticipate guests to distance, but enabling that behavior by saying nothing puts not only you, but your employees at risk. The only positive thing I can say is regarding the employee at the hand-off station, being kind to guests and being patient. I remember this was one of the mecca of boba shop back in the days, now the shop slowly looks more worn down and outdated each time I visit. This store implemented online orders that usually become the only way to order, which is annoying for someone that just wants to just go in and place an order without the hassle of navigating an app outside to order. There are way better boba shop these days that has brand new revamped looks, large variety of drinks and snacks and place to sit and chill. Tastea has the same damn popcorn chicken and fries for ages with a few occasional new drink here and there. It's nothing new nor appealing. They grown too comfortable with their business and gave up on their image and menu. I much rather drive a little farther down to Urban Location for better drinks and food, or even to R&B Tea for drinks and snacks. This place shares the plaza with many restaurants and establishments so parking can be a bit tight. Hmmm Tastea. How do I compare you? If we go by more conventional tea houses, then the tea and boba here are just average. They sell the classical items you would expect like popcorn chicken and a variety of tea drinks with the standard available toppings. There are also some more interesting toppings like green boba and some other toppings I don't remember (but probably wouldn't order anyways). Their strongpoint for me though were the slushies and other blended drinks. It taste like a more artificial version of a fruit smoothie, with various different kinds of syrups and yummy food bits. Have only had the opportunity to stop in a few times on the way back from Disney mostly, due to the distance from SD, but one if my favorite boba places! Love the green boba for looks and taste, comes out warm on the bottom of my cold drinks soft and perfectly chewy. Also enjoy the chunks of fruit mixed into the blended drinks such as the mango one I like, very colorful and tasty/tastea (hehe pun intended). The store is organized and clean and the employees are friendly. There's a photo booth machine in the corner where you can take a picture with a group of friends and have that picture emailed to yourself as proof that you've been to Tastea. Compared to the Costa Mesa location, this place is a lot smaller with not many options for seating. But, I think this location is crazy fast and would put Starbucks to shame. Even though the lines are out the door many times, it goes by quick and your drinks come out even quicker. I usually get their iced teas or smoothies because I think their milk teas are kind of basic like Lollicup. Not Worth. Their iced teas and smoothies are good though. Some aren't that great like the Strawberry Raspberry one which tastes like a bunch of syrups in a cup. My favorites are the Bootea Shaker and the Strawberry Banana smoothie. My brother likes the avocado smoothie which is good if you like a more watered down avocado smoothie vs. making it at home. They have a rewards program, so make sure to ask because I didn't even know until like my 10th visit. I also think it's great they have a 32 oz and gallon sizes. Drinks are way too sweet here. The fact that no sweet options is the same as other places 100% sweet options should say something. Fries have changed. I know Tastea loves prioritizing streamlining and efficiency so corners have been cut from hand cut potatoes to now frozen fries. At least get a better supplier for the frozen fries. I hate the amount of batter these have, there are always a bunch of clumped up fries. The batter is too thick, can't taste the potato at all, and they are fried too crunchy instead of crispy. Just sadness. I don't know anyone else that prefers the new fries over the old ones. Basil is barely added to chicken orders. Basil is also not fried so the few leaves of raw basil just sits there as decoration. read more

Again, you guys are wasting people time by telling them their drinks are ready to pick up when it is not. It wasn't a normal wait time. 40' mins for a tea is ridiculous especially that was 40' after i was told my drink is ready online. The worst part is your staff did not even bother to call my name when its ready even though I check with them multiple times. They did not even say sorry when they found my drink was already made and just sitting there. This bad review is regard to your inaccurate wait time online as well as poor management/rude staffs at your physical location. I would not come back. Avoid this place especially during this pandemic. I placed my order online and got there on at the estimate time. There is a line of people who ALREADY order online. U have to go through that line to tell them your name and then stay on the side to wait for your order. First of all, i order online to avoid staying in line.
